  • They really are still great awesome. Thanks for sharing

  • wow..they do sound as good or better when i was a kid...

  • Great memories, in fact! How I feel so missed that age!...

  • Wow 1966, I was in 6th grade. Great song

  • I can't believe how high they can still get - Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (even new, young back-ups) can't do it anymore. I am questioning, though, if this is the original lead singer. It doesn't sound like it to me.

  • @PapillionWyngs The lead singer is Bob Miranda. He is the original lead singer and sounds better than ever.

  • This is the perfect song to close out every Football Season with

  • Yeah, The Tempos and The Happenings recorded it, but The Association NEVER. By the way, the word NEVER is associated to them because of their hit "NEVER, MY LOVE" ( the comma here is very meaningful, otherwise it would change the meaning of the song completely). I like also Julie Budd's version. :)

  • Great guys from NJ. Great harmonies. Unappreciated by rock history!

  • Recently saw then in uniontown Pa They still sound great.. Thank you for posting this one

  • Great Memories ty !!

  • These songs just had a magical feel to them!

  • Whee sick thats my Guitar Teacher :)

John Paiva, your the coolest guy ever.

  • A group called the Tempos had the original of this song. Kind of a Four Freshman/The Letterman type of group. Later 50's I think

  • I enjoy these guy's performance much better than the house band over at the Chuck E Cheeze's

  • Fabulous !!!!!!!!!

  • They really sound great, don,t they

  • I can still remember hearing this song in '66. I was 5 y/o and going into Kindergarten and I can remember hearing it on the radio when my mother was driving me to school! This song and Good Vibrations from the Beach Boys.

  • and its my Birthday the 2th

  • Wow, they really nailed it! Thanks for the memories. 2 thumbs way up!

  • What cruise line was this?

  • they are from Paterson New Jersey my home town and Frankie Vallie never sang this song.

  • The Happenings were a better band than the Four Seasons.

  • The Association covered this song.

  • @bluesfiddle I did a search but I couldn't find them singing it.

  • @JrzFirefly maybe they sound alike, but Association never covered this........i thought the same when i had a cassette with Cherish and September on it in the 80's.....I looked it up and found it to not be true, however I found a few sites playing this song by the Happenings but listed them as the Association, much like the site Grooveshark did with the Four Seasons........

  • @BTOWNPLAYA69 Thanks ... I didn't think so

  • @bluesfiddle The Association NEVER covered this!

  • @bluesfiddle No, they didn't.

  • Those suits are kicking BUTT! I love the colors! And the voices...well they are just as great as ever.

  • this song mad me sad back then, just sounds sad.

  • Pretty darn good sound for their ages. Nice harmony. Especially at an age where most singers lose their pitch and the vibrato gets really shaky. The brass was a great added touch.

  • they sound good for old people :)

  • @crazyman2278 they are not that old, for your info

  • saw them at the Chatterbox in Seaside Heights WAAAAAY back.

  • Wow they sound great!

    Love this song

  • love this stuff...........

  • Wop bands had a totally cool original sounds -- witness the success of GREASE

  • I remember as a young girl listening to this with my cousin in her basement.

    Nice memories. Simpler times!

  • This was the first 45 I have ever bought. I remember a puppy being on the label. Over 40 year old memory.

  • I have one of the original 45's they sang on this song!

  • They opened up for the Four Seasons at Olive Park Chicago 85 outdoor Italia fest.

  • what happened to Guilano?

  • I was in high school..brings back the very best times of my life...memories will never die!

  • pretty neat they can still knock out the harmonies and vocals. Saw them at the Chatterbox in Seaside Heights way back and they were great. Remember one of the guys singing wore an arm cast.

  • bellos recuerdos,me trae esta cancion.

  • Belas recordações!!!

  • Awesome

  • omg, does this bring back the memories!!!!! i was class of 69!

  • This song coincides with my feeling that I was parting a friend, who left her study due her illnesses, at the station a few weeks ago. I'm expecting to see her in September to resume study.

  • What cruise was this? I wish I was on it...I saw your group several times in Bayonne NJ and remember you back in 66...You are a great band! Love your music!

  • And all this time I thought this was the Four Seasons w/ Frankie Valli. I'll be damned.

  • i did also !!

  • ha ha. yeah, me too! aren't they wonderful though???

  • Hey, we can't all be crazy! I'll bet if you check, you'll find the 4 Seasons did cover it.

  • I checked and can't find that The Four Seasons sang it. Another group that had sung it was Gerry and the Pacemakers.

There is a site (Grooveshark) who lists The Four Seasons as singing it on their site but they are in err. It is The Happenings singing. I have contacted them about it.

  • YOU AIR HEAD i SAID THEY OPEANED UP FOR FRANKIE VALI NOT THAT THEY SANG THIS SONG.

  • Hey PUCK we know what you said. Thank you for your input.

ThurstonGHowell3rd thought The Four Seasons w/Franki Valli sang it and Inuyasha said if we check, you'll find they did cover it.

  • I agree that this would have been a great song for the Four Seasons to record. I have their "Looking Back" album (bought it new i 1967) and, sadly, it is not on it. Other great '50's songs are, however. Thanks for this post. I remember fondly the hits of the Happenings and am glad other generations are now being exposed to them.

  • @JrzFirefly I have never heard of the Four Seasons doing this song either, but I sure as heck could hear Frankie doing the lead. Lol Thanx for posting. It is always nice for us old folks to see our heroes still at it.

  • I actually like this version better than their original '66 recording! Just goes to show, some things besides wine improve with age :D

  • Great bunch of guys they were also. We were there backup band in1979 in Nebr. they could play RollingStones also, we were dropped jawed when they performed after we played. Thanks for the recap of my past.

  • This song always had meaning for me, and still does, I think. Great song!

  • I was 8 years old in 1966 I still remember singing along to it. One of the 1st songs that made me stop and listen to the words. You still sound great guys.

  • why cant they play music like this today ? instead of some of that stuff thay we have to listen to now

  • amazing video, adoroo essa música!!!

  • This song reminds me of the good old days in Parkchester in the Bronx when we would hang out with friends on a park bench! Things are so different for kids today..

  • This song brings me back to the old days when I would hang out with friends on a park bench in Parkchester in the Bronx! Those were the good days...

  • I sure remember this song. Unforgetable harmony. Thank you for posting.

  • I always look for the studio versions of songs I like 'cause I don't tend to like live performances, but this one is incredible.

  • Still sound great after all these years! What a wonderful song to reflect back to a simpler and happier time. Thanks for sharing with all of us!

  • Still great voices reflecting on a great time in our lives! Thanks for sharing the memories of a happier and simpler time!

  • Love this song and this group! Brings you back to a much simpler and happier time! Thanks for bringing back the memories!

  • Great voice after 40 years !! You are the man !!

  • This song is a wonderful happening!

  • This is a very good song from the 1960s.

  • WOWOWOW! What a great voice and sound still after all these years! His falsetto is still holding up, though I imagine not as easy as it once was. Nothing is as easy as it once was! Thanks for the memories.

  • What ship was this on? Reminds me of a Carnival Stage.

  • Fantástico!!

  • This is a great classic hit from a great classic band. They were part of the fabulous 60s long gone but never forgotten. They sound great today as they did 43 years ago. Amazing how they look and sound today. Priceless, amazing, and enjoyable to see them perform again.

  • wow, sounds so great! they still sing the song almost like those days

  • All those years later, and they STILL sound like they were in the recording studio! That's AWESOME, what an INCREDIBLE performance!

  • This was my favorite song for many years. It often reminded me of my first summer crush. I met that crush again several years later and he was not at all the great guy that my hormones imagined he was....however, the song has proved to be forever awesome! Thank-you for posting it.

  • They sound great! Wish I could have been there for it!
