  • Anyone notice that the bumper music played while the puck is played is a verion of another Bob Stewart game show, Chain Reaction?

  • I think this would've worked, but Jim went onto do Sale of the Century in 1983, so

  • The theme ultimately used in "JACKPOT!".

In fact, this looks like a very unpollished version of it.

  • It's sad this never sold, it's a lot of fun. But then again if it did sell, Jim Perry may have never hosted Sale. And that would have been even sadder.

  • OMG never ever heard of this. Did our local TV station not carry this?? Was this a lost 'pilot''?? Albeit, I always liked Jim Perry.

    Very very convoluted play!!

  • The theme is from Jackpot!

  • Damn these people are perky/fake

  • @MPL029 Well, it is a pilot. And pilots always have fake contestants.

  • An overhead shot of the puck moving on the board would have made the game better!

  • I wonder how the CAR round would've played?

  • This was the year after Perry's Card Sharks was cancelled. He had it made though with Sale of the Century the following year.

  • seems sorta like jackpot only with different elements

  • but the same theme from the late 70's Jackpot (although I'm more partial to Jet Set myself)

  • Great pilot! Should've sold, IMHO.

  • I agreed!!!! It should of made it in daytime shows!!!!

  • Was there a 2nd pilot of "Twisters" featuring one of the contestants named Laura Chambers?

  • I believe not, the one I saw on GSN in 2000 was the only pilot there.

  • I believe so. But Laura Chambers was in that 2nd pilot.

  • notice the chain reaction theme?

  • ( buzzer )....the theme was from 'Jackpot'.

  • Actually, the CR theme was used while the King/Queen of the Hill was throwing the disc.

  • The Chain Reaction theme was used as a shuffle board cue

  • Twisters is actually an OK game. If crap like Give N Take, The Diamond Head Game, and Yahtzee can sell, why not this?

  • Yes, this is a good pilot, would of made an interesting show.

  • main problem with this show is too many ideas in one. would have fit in really well when USA had that crop of low-budget game shows produced in Canada, say knock the prize down to $5,000, replace the car with a bonus prize etc. I'm not sure who would host though Jim would have already had definition, Sale and i think headline hunters.

  • Somebody get me a barf bag!

  • the theme to Twisters was later used for Jackpot 1985 and 1989

  • It was also the theme to "Shoot for the Stars" in 1977.

  • Please keep all three parts of this game show pilot on. Don't ever, at any time, take them off or I'll turn red!

  • Jim hosted this pilot prior to Sale of the Century - sometime around the middle part of 1982, but you're right - this should have made it on the air.

  • What took you so long to put this up? I've been waiting forever to see this again! Out of all the unsold game pilots shown on GSN, this was my favorite. It should've worked.

  • I was looking around to see if it was already up by somebody. I also had a concern about the tape's tracking quality. I really wanted to do this. Nobody suggested this to me; this was on my own. Believe me, I would have done this sooner. And yes, this was one of my favorites, too.

  • I superficially agree with you! Ever since I saw it on Elvira's Raise the Dead Marathon, I've been longing to see it again. This is my favorite unsold pilot of all time.

  • So did I on GSN.

  • this was mine too. I wish it could have been given another try. But not all pilots can sell.

  • What about that opening spiel for Jim Perry's 1982 game show "Twisters"??

  • tHIS MIGHT'VE BEEN sold if it wasn't for Sale of the Century?

  • Possibly, but I'm not sure if NBC was looking for this type of game. Perhaps it would have been good on the USA network. Instead Bob Stewart went with a revival of "Jackpot!".

  • I agree!

  • well it was sold before $otc. If it was sold then who would have hosted $otc?!

  • The shuffleboard theme is from Chain Reaction.

  • I think the "Queen of the Hill" was just being paid to throw that disk around. Either that or it was a lot of fun.

Heck, I'd throw it a few times. I'd be there all day!

  • O my Godddd!!!!! Thank u sooooo much for posting this video!!!

  • I wish Twisters should be on the air, and so as Jim Perry.

  • @mtprice1978 Yeah, I agree with you there.

  • Hey, Jim Perry, cool!

I see the similarities to Jackpot. Giant bouncy shuffleboard is fun.
