  • There was a similar scenario back in Hong Kong when a village was affected by the planned High-speed rail. However the reaction from the villagers and the politicians is far more aggressive. (Check out "Opposition to the Guangzhou-Hong Kong Express Rail Link" in Wikipedia.)
