  • jamie and adam are very intelligent dudes its nice to see something other than jersy f**king shore on tv

  • So what their saying really is that , yes, the experiment as portrayed on TV was flawed but it was actually done properly behind the scenes. I can understand them not showing it all because it would be to boring to watch for many. But at least a summary of what was done off camera would be good.

  • We just learnt about this stuff in physics class. That its a common misconception that people think that because something has a horizontal movement that it would take more time to hit the ground. The thing is that there is an equal amount of pulling force (gravity) on both objects ( same sized bullet) so they would hit the ground at the same time IF they were released at the same time, being let go or when the bullet exits the barrel.

  • adams voice likes on excls voice

  • Could they have possibly picked a more retarded/annoying/awkward host?

  • who da fuck is that?

    ?

  • who the fuck is matt cordova?

  • who the fuck is that dude?

  • this isnt a myth. the episode with the bullet was them trying to catch it on film. it's a physics law that a dropped bullet fired at the same time a bullent was dropped WILL reach the same point at the same time.

  • @darkprincess012:

Of course it's a law of physics that the x and y components are completely separate and a fired and dropped bullet have to touch ground at the same moment.

Nevertheless most people find this hard to accept as a fact and could think that other factors might play a role that could throw this from the practical into the theoretical bin and leave it in there.

Trying it out is your best bet :P

  • Well sometimes there are leaks between theory and praksis. There is element of aerodynamics in to this picture as well.

Will give you that these laws of physics are correct. Given the object is not influenced by any "other" force. you could do the feather test in a air filled vs vacum environment :)

  • That's exactly what I meant to say ;)

  • and yeah, the law states that it would be in a world where there was not "other forces"

  • lol. i agree, and i know, i was just pointing it out to some ppl who were being an idiot about it.

  • I really enjoy it though. There's unfortunately not many people on YouTube who actually take the time to think for even only a few seconds. Best example is that idiot "adamalden" above...

  • agreed, besides, ppl have to realize how BRILLIANT these two are. seriously, the amount of the tests they run, and their understanding of physics and science is just a SMALL portion. they have to be creative, have enginuity, and a higher level of thinking. i dont understand why ppl have a problem with their science, if it was wrong or stupid, do you REALLY think they'd have a show on the discovery channel? not to mention their experiments are highly complex anyway.

  • Wow, it seems as if I've finally found a person on YouTube that actually shares my opinion. Thanks for that!

Even if they don't show too much of the stuff from behind the scenes on the show, you can take a guess at it, and that's what most people don't do.

  • Hey don't be such an ass.

These guys are trying as hard as they can, to run some absurdly complicated tests. I say its great that they go so far to bust or confirm a myth. So don't go calling them stupid, because I highly doubt you're smarter than them.

If you dislike the results so much, go out, and test them yourself, otherwise shut the hell up!

And the third guy is just an interviewer, hes given the questions from the comments board, and he reads them out, simple.

    Hes not a "tard".

  • You have issues don't you.

Look I don't know what kind of curveballs life has thrown you, but don't take your anger out on me, for I am absolutely sure your problems have nothing to do with me.

Now, if youre so sure this isnt hard, I dare you to shoot and drop two separate bullets at the EXACT same spot at the EXACT same time and catch it all on high speed film.

  • @Keimori12 AGREE!!! fully true opinion just like as mine!!

  • mythbusters is discovery

  • BS!!!!!!

They made a bunch of tests, but they chose the one that fit with what they wanted to show, and used only that one.

    That is not science.

If you do like that, you can get any kind of result you want.

  • Riiight. Jog on.

  • Patrially true, it is science its just they have no choice what goes in the final cut or not, they could do something 200 times and mabey only three of them is going into the final product. The thing whith their show although it is great is that they cant show all the video because lets face it its a one hour tv show and Discovery Channel wont put a solid day or so of footage on the air, its just too costly. You are still right about some of your comment though.

  • This is not about what they chose to show in the show.

The thing is that they specifically said that they only did the measurement on the one that worked out as they wanted it.

That is not science in any kind of way.

If they actually use all measurements, but only show one being done, that's fine, but that's not what they said.

  • Yea the show has some flaws but its fun to watch... Didnt realize thats what you were trying to say..sorry good point though

  • Absolutely. I watch it myself.

  • I don't think they meant it that way. I understood it like this: They tested multiple times, but the variation where the bullet from the gun hit the ground was so big that they had only one shot in which both bullets were visible when they touched the ground.

Most physical experiments are not about absolute accuracy anyway. The possible margin of error is big enough to ignore most tiny differences (and 40 ms are really tiny).

  • I agree, 40ms on a drop of around 1 second is a margin of 4%, on a complex experiment like that I'd call that a good result.

  • wow! mythbusters are awesome i loved the duct tape episode that was truly crazy

i still cant believe that Jaime and Adam made the duct tape boat and it still floated

PS. im sorry if i spelled jaime's name wrong because that was the first episod3e i watched

  • Awesome

  • The only reason i subbed to discover was for mythbusters, i hate all the other crap that discovery churns out

  • Same here.

  • so not even storm chasers? :(

  • Nope!

  • oh well :(

  • i think storm chaser is stupid.

  • As many have said, I don't believe the host is appropriate for this.

The idea of this combustion chamber Q&A is brilliant, nonetheless.

  • Use Mike Rowe he makes everything awesome. Besides like everything else is narrated by him on discovery now it seems.

  • aww don't say that everyone..what if he gets fried?? his family gonna stave

  • Mike Rowe would be awesome at this, or Kevin + Alex from Diggnation.

  • .ThIs HoSt SuCks!!! I <3 mythbusters

  • YeAh DuDeee TAlk LIKE thiS

  • we are fans. we voted. kick out that host and get a new one...

  • jacky chomp chormp?.. o.O

  • host sucks this idea is good

  • Ultimate atomic.... BUSTERRRRRR!!!!

  • this host sucks!

get mike rowe to do it!

  • u mean the guy reading the questions

  • I agree, I like this combustion chamber thing they are doing, but who is this guy hosting it? He isn't very good at it.

  • Agreed, he seems like quite the douche.

  • You sir, are brilliant. Mike Rowe would be awesome.

  • BUSTER HAS BEEN OWNED.

  • Erm i'm getting this feeling the real good questions were filtered out...Seriously people I've seen how smart you are and I'm pretty sure you did better at pointing out real mistakes than this...

  • If the myths that are done solely on popularity are any indication the viewer base isn't that smart.

  • Well we don't need the base to be smart we need only a few of those questions being smart.Obviously there were loads of questions and they could have picked smarter ones which they didn't and that's my point...

  • lol
