i am waiting for the 2012s to come out before i buy my first jeep with the pentastar....the unlimited really is more practical for what i need it for (more room, room for my great dane, higher tow capacity for a boat) my question is are these still fully convertible like the normal wranglers or is it just a T-tops deal? how do they compare as far as off-road capabilities being that the unlimited has a longer wheelbase?

Reak Jeeps aren't Chrysler. The only thing Chrysler did was buy the technology from AMC. Quadradrive.. yeah American Motors engineered that. The Wrangler actually achieved worse off-road ability after Chrysler changed the aesthetics. Look at the Mahindras Willy's. It's exactly the same thing that AMC/Willy's built. Chrysler only changed the appearance, and hindered the off road ability.

@bwief Answers: 1. No those rims are not standard on the rubicon unlimited- but are made for the jeep. 2. Yes those are half doors but you have to order them because they also do not come standard. Which also answers your third question- yes.

I personally would only buy the 4 door or the two door Unlimited models. The 2 doors are just too small and have no room for equipment/sporting goods. Also I have to imagine that with the wider wheelbase on the four door it drives smoother than the 2 doors. I owned a 2 door 1989 Jeep and loved it but since they came out with the 4 door model there is no comparison.

I have a JEEP and my wife have a JEEP. Hers is 4dr mine is 2dr. There is nothing more fun to ride on this green earth. There is anything . Ask me how it feel. Better for the money than any TOYOTA FJ or NISSAN X TERRA.

the 4 doors ar just stupid. jeeps are for people who dont want to be spoiled at all, it needs 2 doors, small storage space, badass radio, plastic/very easy removable windows, roof and half doors, great engine. in needs to be that unique type of party style.

Rubicon manual diesel. Or petrol+ supercharger. ya need a bit of torque for off roading.

You should be a little more open minded...I have one and I love it. I wanted a two door but decided a four door was more practicle. It'll still go where most 4x4s can't.

I own two of the Unlimited and this is the best Jeep ever built. It is constructed in a "state of the art" plant in Toledo, Ohio. You if going camping, scuba diving, or hunting you actually have room for your gear. The fact that it can do some serious off road is a added bonus. Keep up the good work Jeep!
