It seems ridiculous that there isn't some sort of emergency medical fund available for crime victims. What has this country come to?

Because they're clearly very different, moron. I agree the lack of healthcare is ridiculous - but someone being attacked and injured by another deserves healthcare moreso than a disease or illness just happening to manifest in someone.

But it's coverage isn't meant for medical expenses per se and it takes a long time to get any money from the fund, and there are limits to how much you can get, etc etc
