  • Was this from an LP or was it a single only? Was this the A or B side? And what was on the flip side? I would love for this to be reissued on CD. Thanks for posting,

  • anyone know the name of the guitarist in this song

  • i think Frankie Beverley

  • sounds like guys from tower of power.

  • seriously my dad and uncle always bumped music like this and now i be bumpin' music like this

  • your dad and uncle got taste ;)

  • Really dig Maze, but only Raw Soul's original version of "While I'm Alone" DOES IT for me! I was a lonely young-boy thinking I was in love when it came out. Nearly wore the grooves out! Would nearly pass out if I heard it today, tho (thankfully) the lonely days are LONG gone!

  • wasnt hip to it being soo much rare funk out there man Im humbled... Maze uses pieces of this throughout there late catalog especially the "what color" refrain, marvin gaye told them they needed to change the name, I hear some sly funk in there...wow

  • bboy muusakk

  • Listen to hunderts , thats the best!

  • This was when Frankie Beverly was the lead singer for his group called "Raw Soul" when he played in clubs around Philly in the late 60's and early 70's. He then went out to L.A and met Marvin Gaye who urged him to change his group's name to Maze...the rest is history. If anyone get's a hold of the 45 he recorded in 1971 or so called "Color my World"..let me know!

  • FRANKIE WAS NASTY FROM DAY 1!!!

  • somebody should put all your tracks together and get em online...like on megupload or so

    come on guys!

  • it's my favorite!

  • "rare as it can get"
