@Svperstarr Sounds like they didn't use the typical cymbals that is usually most prominent when people use it, but I hear what you're talking about in the kick of the break layer. Hard to tell though, I've come across a few breaks in all my crate-digging/file-downloading/jazz-funk listening that had some fairly similar textural qualities to the amen break in regards to the punchy compressed nature of the sound, so it may or may not be it. Good call though

Yes, those problems seem habitual and difficult to elim, but they can be curbed w/ aggressive social programs and state investment.... just as they were when the jews and italians had them earlier in the 19th century.

1st off, much of the military isn't white. Look at the stats, minorities compose a hugely disproportionate percentage of those serving (particularly BLACKS). Secondly, "they don't want to change"? Like people want poverty. Poverty is a malaise and it causes all sorts of problems, but only some stupid neoconservative slave would assert that poor people want to be poor. You watch far too much t.v.. You'd probably be shocked if i told you that most poor folks aren't criminals.

Will black people be 100% equal and overcome their problems with a check from the government? Nope. We paid the victims of WW2 who were thrown in camps. We gave money to the ACTUAL Japanese people who suffered. Not their ancestors 100 years from now. I just don't think it's going to help, and it's a cop out for cash.

I don't think you even want to get into the socio-economic implications of legitimate reparations.Ask the Jews if reparations help them 'fix issues'.I've worked for companies and kept my money in banks that have openly admitted--and apologized--for their roles in chattel slavery.

I know most don't care. It's a small group who keeps screaming for reparations, but I just don't see how it would solve anything. That's my point, Jews aren't going to forgive the germans if they get cut a check. It doesn't work that way, it's emotional. As a white guy I can't even BEGIN to understand what it feels like to know your people have been oppressed for hundreds of years for no reason. But I can speculate that if I did, no sum of money would make me feel better.

Those screaming for reparations have every right to do so,considering the financial legacy of slavery (as well as Nazi internment camps for that matter)stretches to our even our modern times,which is my point:I simply don't see compensation happening and don't base my life around it;if you do you're insane.

I don't intend to suggest the whole "get over it" mentality. Slavery was one of histories greatest atrocities. It should be remembered, and I think it would do everyone a bit of good to at least TRY to imagine what it must have been like. You're right though, there are lasting effects, but something like reparations just doesn't seem like the right direction. If we could get some good schools in black neighborhoods on the other hand, we could make more progress as a country. Teach a man to fish.

I'm gonna assume that again, you're being satirical....I agree with you though, rich white bureaucrats shouldn't be the sole deciders in ANYTHING, especially if it's something that they have absolutely no understanding of. I'm white, so while I can't fully comprehend, I grew up in a lower class family, in a neighborhood where I was the minority(which strangely, I liked). I think that gives me at least a little more perspective than a senator.

I think many miss the point of the validity of racism. Although it is possible for non-whites to be "racist" within their minds in America, they have little or no power. Being prejudged or not able to go into black neighborhoods is not the same.
How often do white people have to go into an all black neighborhood to go to a bank? To go to work? Have an all black judge and jury?
But also, contempt for dominants is not racism. If blacks have sheer contempt for white society, it's just that.

That's cool. I should be more clear (but the word limit doesn't help) - i never try to demean difficulties of various people by stating that whites are not often the victims of racism from minorities. It's just that minority by definition means lack of power.
Discrimination based on social status, education, income level, etc... are all very real and very damaging. I just feel we do need to separate these things accordingly.

Well, I'm "white" and I know what it's like to be judged. I grew up between the ghetto and the barrio, and I certainly know what it's like to be judged based on the color of my skin. I've had bottles thrown at my head, I've been kicked, lying on the floor, by an entire classroom of kids. I've been stared at with pure malice and derision.
Still, none of that has earned my hatred. None of us have time enough in our lifespan to hate anyone.

Racism isn't a "system" of any kind...it's just a display of basic ignorance. Anyone can be racist if they're uneducated and/or smallminded enough to think that race is a barrier. People can always find reasons to hate each other if they're stupid enough to look.

Oh thats a load of crap. I'm from Miami. I don't know about you but I've heard and felt that word enough. Yes, I understand his connection with Trigger to the N-Word. But I don't find it tastefully artistic. I find It ignorant. And on top of that Saul is extremely full of himself. To say that he is doing this for the greater good just doesn't convince me. That is my opinion.
