  • I'm not a theist - but I've seen enough to want me to buy this.

If I was religious, I'd say "Thank God for Richard Dawkins" - the man's a hero.

He's kind of like The Messiah of reason. A courageous individual travelling to places like the USA and Middle East and spreading the word that we should all be nice to each other because there's no God whatsoever to do that job.

  • From a scale of 1-50, concerning biblical knowledge, I would give Richard a 6. He would stand a chance against a knowledgeable Christian. I listened to this, and I was not impressed. I even believe that I would do fine on my own against him. Such a pity.

  • I'm not sure you can be a "knowledgeable" Christian. You can't really possess knowledge on something that really isn't a proper subject at all.

If I know everything there is to know about something that is completely made up and not at all based in reality what do I really know? Nothing.

For example: If I know everything there is to know about invisible pink dragons that would be great, but in actuality I know nothing, because there aren't any invisible pink dragons.

  • That's just your subjectivity speaking.

  • Pete's Dragon is a ligitamite source for info on invisble dragons if you want to study this repuatable subject further. I don't know if it was pink, but it could help you in your studies. I use this book as my "bible" for my unfounded belief in dragons.

  • LOL

  • Biblical knowledge is completely irrelevant when debating the existence of God. Dawkins is a scientist.. which happens to be a much stronger credential than knowledge in fairy tales.

  • Oh? Well, you seem to not know what Dawkins does many times. And that is criticizing Christianity in particular. In order to properly criticize something, you must at least be knowledgeable about it. He's not!

  • The bible cannot be used as evidence. Much like Darwin's Origin of Opecies it is a theory however unrealistic it sounds to some. On the basis of it's theory one can argue on the evidence we have.

  • 1st, buy the book, and then judge him. I just read it. It is an amazing piece of work. He shows a great deal of knowledge about both the bible and the catholic church. He's a friend of Richard Harries, Baron Harries of Pentregarth and former Bishop of Oxford and cites several of the conversations. I guess a bishop would be more knowledgeable than you.

  • maybe...maybe not. As for buying his book, lol. I have it already. I also read "The selfish gene".

  • @qdwkurama what does he not know about the bible? where he described the god of the bible he was spot on. so, are you christian? are you another sheep in the herd

  • part two part 2!!!

  • I'm on chapter 6 right now. Hopefully by posting this video (and by others doing the same) we can make it even more popular. I would recommend it to anyone, especially the theists.

  • Awesome book! Up to the middle it is a bit tedious and "dry" to read, but the last half is just hilarious! I was laughing my butt off at some pages... One really good book by Dawkins also is "The Selffish Gene"!
