I probably shouldn't even bother saying this since the video is so old but your not doing overhead pressed. Over head press : Feet apart facing outside. Locked glutes and knees. Strict push using shoulders only
@hell6666100 I also do stronglifts. You have to start at bar weight for a reason. Do NOT jump up in weight just because its easy. It quickly gets hard. The time you spend lifting light weights is time spent practising form. You will injure yourself if you do not have good form. You will start to ache, but even then after a while the hypertrophy starts to wear off. When you are more advanced, the aching (hypertrophy) is not always a sign of gains. Increase in weight lifted is. Good luck.
@hell6666100 aching is not a pre-requisite for strength increases. Slow the pace of your reps to take at least three seconds to raise the weight and at least three seconds to lower the weight.
Good effort, but a little too much Momentum being used to heave the weights overhead...focus on using the shoulders only by going slower and not bouncing. It may mean using a lighted weight to get better form.
Just a tip on your barbell press, when you bring the weight down try to be more controlled(drop weight if you can't control it) and also don't bring the weight all the way down to your chest b/c it will put pressure on your shoulders and other places, and you wont be working the muscles intended correctly. You should stop around mid-neck range and take 1-2second pause at top of lift and at bottom.
@kdmsy2 not being funny here...but the 5X5 stronglifts is about using explosive power to lift as much weight as possible. if he didnt do a push press it would be less beneficial as he uses more muscle groups in a push press than a standard military press and more muscles used equals more testosterone produced which equals more strength then more muscle.
you need to impove your technique, as when ou preform reps such as military press you use hardly any shoulder muscle as you jerk your legs and use the motion to make it easier...
two things.. trap bar deadlifts are more like a mediocre squat.. they do not work you as deadlifts are intended, and its overhead press not push press... deload 20-30 pounds and do it with proper form, stop using your legs to help you
im an olympic lifter.my preferrede press is the behind the neck push press with a snatch grip-5x3-5.i love the 5x5.

Get yourself some flat soled shoes like converse chucks. I found it way easier to maintain proper balance with flat shoes.

For Overhead Press, what you are really doing is Push Press using your knee to bounce the weight up which puts less work on your shoulder.
I would drop weight to fix your form.
