  • a very fine performance indeed! I would love to study with her.

  • bad acoustics and/or bad pedaling ruined this I think....

  • Every time I listen to this clip I am overwhelmed by her performance. Her technic is so confident , beautiful and formidable.

  • She's superb but the accoustics are not good

  • This performance by the Russian lady and a Japanese lady, also seen on YoutTube, are the 2 best and most artistic version of te ballad 4. All of the big name pianists failed to play this epic work by Chopin right. In fact, no one plays it perfectly., on the contrary, most pianists plays it with full of errors and no imagination. This Russian lady plays it with some slavic ferver and taste. The Japanese lady plays it with cohesive poetry. But even these two ladies didn't play perfectly .

  • @freeqwerqwer could you put a link of Japanese lady version ? plz

  • I'm in shock. Best interpretation of this work. Ashkenazy and Nat are clearly left behind. Brava Ms. Kuschnerova!

  • guys and gals of the west the russias and the east and where culture is played out in the Pacific region this is brilliant ... .

  • Why the blazing lights ? Народный Комиссариат Внутренних Дел ?

  • Bravo Elena! Passionate and moving performance of one of Chopin's finest.

  • Artistry of the highest possible order! In this most beautiful, difficult, and emotionally deep piece imaginable, the pianist delivered Everything.

  • I can tell this pianist is Russian just by the slavic touch. She is making me a believer in her. I'm impressed, since I hadn't too good of an impression from the rest of the pianists on YouTube playing this most artistically difficult piece.

  • Wow! Brava! Beautiful.

  • beautiful||||

  • The best interpretation i've ever heard of this wonderful piece - even better than any of the greats.

    Chopin would be proud.

  • How beautiful!! I will start learning this piece and I need all the inspiration and guidance I can get! She did a beautiful job of interpreting this piece.

  • Im no piano expert, have only liked chopin Ballade 4 for the past 15 years.. and its the only peice I ever listen to. This one was done very well... all the notes just perfect. Really enjoyed this. THANK YOU

  • Only one thing to say : this is EMOTION !!

  • Great Artist. What a fantastic interpretation. Thank you for posting such a wonderful performance

  • Very well interpretation. I really enjoy the power and the structure of this performance.

  • What a funny comment! "Russianic".. Are Kissin, Pletnev, Berezovsky also too "russianic"? How "russianic" a pianist can be so that it is not too much?

  • not bad...but feels bit too russianic type of interpretation...

  • absolutely flawless, perfect interpretation in every way!! thank you!!

  • shes got the hands for it...i thought she did fine.

  • It's a tough piece, but I think she pulled it off quite well. Her body language is a bit distracting - at times I had to look away and just enjoy the music. Overall, I say "Brava"!

  • And it is not a song.

  • This performance is not overdone and not over the top. It is of a great caliber, powerful like an ocean. Probably you just cannot swallow it, if you are used to the style of Michelangeli and Bolet. You guys probably have bad teachers. One has to play classical music vigirously, otherwise the audiences would dwindle.

  • she dont understand leggato about chopin

  • over the top, killed the song, (for me anyway)

  • Since you think it's a song, then I'm sure she won't mind that she killed it for you.

  • One word: overdone.

  • fck the htrz.. GOD BLESS ALL ARTISTS...

  • fck the htrz...

  • i dont know about u hblhblhbl, but i feel like making an idiot of myself and attempting to critique an professional pianist.

  • Very aggressive! Too powerful and too fast for the last "coda" portion although I like that.

  • electrifying playing, very passionate and mature. bravo!

  • It's okay and technically perfect, but after having heard Solomon's interpretation of this work, you will never again hear a better one (and he is not even my favourite pianist). In the finale he starts in the softest way and gradually increases volume to reach a real and full forte, the notes just flowing away with little and tasteful rubato.
