  • They are not switch blades because switch blades go out at the top you derp search it in wickipedie or something that is a assisted opening knife

  • You sound like Shoemoney.

  • Mine might have been older. It doesn't have the safety switch.

  • im jealous, i wish these weren't illegal in canada

  • Those are nice switches man

  • nvm, i didnt see you clikc that button!

  • dude, a switch blade is when you click a button and the blades come up. but when you have a blade and you use your index finer to pull down a lever and the blade comes up is just a knife dude

  • @TheChristine1963 Either way it would still be considered a switch blade/automatic knife. An automatic knife is defined as any knife that is deployed by the actuation of a button, lever or switch located on the knife handle that releases a spring under pressure to deploy the blade. Look it up if you dont believe me.

  • @edgedweapon88 true, its a switch blade...

it's like saying a gun isn't a gun because it has a safety

  • Not illegal in Oregon :)

  • Country of origin is China. But for low-end knives good quality.

  • Those blades look menacing

  • Those are not allowed.

  • @MsTechDude mabey not in your state but they are here

  • Great vid. Knives are awesome 5 stars. Your lucky switchblades are illegal in california

  • @EzioEagle1 in california you can legally carry a switchblade as long as it is less than 2 inches(blade length)

  • @EzioEagle1 They're illegal in MA as well, but I still carry them. If you really follow knife laws I feel sorry for you, because you're missing out on some fantastic blades and amazing craftsmanship.

  • Yeah, the B/M 585 Mini Barrage is a fine knife. Had my eye on one for sometime. I love Benchmade knives but on a L/E salary I have to put money aside each payday for a while in order to get one.I'm just fortunate my hobby isn't firearms. LOL..Then I would need about 3 jobs. Always enjoy your vids.

  • @deputysheriff100 Thank you sir. I appreciate the kind words.

  • Keelan, I didn't know at the time you ask about getting a knife for a friend in L/E that you had a video on the Boker Auto. If I had known that I wouldn't have mentioned the Boker Kals. You probably already knew about the Kals. Sorry. It's a great knife BUT my all time favorite is still the B/M 2550 Mini Reflex Auto, #2 Sog Aegis Tini (all Black) #3 B/M Griptilian 551 #4 Rat Izula neck knife with micarta handles & custom sheath. It's a razor with a handle. 4mm thick. AWESOME.

  • @deputysheriff100 Yes I knew about the Klas but I appreciate your input. I picked up a BM 585 Mini Barrage for my LEO friend until I can get around to getting him a nice auto like the BM 2550. Thanks again for your suggestions.

  • Man, 1095 carbon steel or GTFO! lol

Just kidding, I like the black one. Serrated always comes in handy for me. I'm trying to find one now ;)

  • this knife is only 35.90 its a very good deal and they allso have a mini version which i think is cooler :) im getting one

  • FYI- Magnum is NOT made in Germany. It is made in China, which is probably why it says "Made in China" on the blade. Magnum is a division of Boker. You can't buy a real Boker German made knife for what you would pay for a Magnum. If it was made at their German plant, it would say "Solingen". Boker also makes knives in Argentina (Arbolito).

Boker doesn't import these knives as automatics- customs doesn't allow it. They must be converted.

  • im pretty sure those are counterfeits. boker.de/us/counterfeits.html

  • my switchblade comb is just as fast as that and i put a blade in it

  • how much does these knifes cost

  • @TheNickmo1 $35.90 At Bladeplay

  • How come mine came with a smaller button (flatter and deeper in)

  • Comment removed

  • DEMONSTRATION! NOW!

  • i just got mine for $27.90 pretty good deal.

  • the blakc one looks sweat!

  • this one must be too old for the fun fact :-/ was hoping for "Fun fact... Magnum...

  • @pdawg691 Yea fun facts only started two months ago. This video is over a year old. I might do a deja vi series on it with fun facts in the future.

  • @12Gaugelosangeles no there made in taiwan ,it says it right on the blade

  • made in china.

  • i have that same axact black one and it stopped opening

  • sorry bud boker magnum is actually made in Taiwan only boker solingen are made in germany and dont say im wrong i own alot and have done my research

  • awesome knifes what website can i order one from?

  • @jos523 Amazon is what I usually go with. But there are also countless other knife specific sites that you can find with a google search.

  • @jos523 i just ordered one from bladeplay(.) com yesterday just type in "switch blade" in the search bar, it cost me $31

  • @jos523 u can also buy them of the boker website, sometimes they got very nice special offeres

  • @jos523 true swords.com

  • @jos523 get them at dealextreme, they are NOT genuine but they work like the real ones, They're also VERY VERY cheap, average amount is 6$ USD

  • in florida switch blades are legal if not concealed under state law and legally you're able to conceal it with a permit for it.

  • are they legal in florida?

  • Switchblades are not legal in any state.

  • @edgedweapon88 yes there are

  • @edgedweapon88 nope, they are legal to own in most states, carrying it in public is a different story.

  • @edgedweapon88 Well that's not true.

  • @edgedweapon88 In CA they're legal if they are 1 7/8 inch or less.

  • @edgedweapon88 in ny they are lol, i got mine from flordia

  • @edgedweapon88 theyre legal in alabama with a CCW. which I have, but im also in the military so..

  • @edgedweapon88

Switchblades are legal in Florida provided they do not exceed 3-3/4 inches in blade length. That clarification was signed into law by Gov. Bush in 2003. In Florida, a switchblade is considered a common pocket knife and not a weapon. Please check facts before offering an opinion!

  • flordia dont think so and they're legal in 13

    idk which ones tho

  • @districtrandom yes, switchblades are legal to own in every state last I checked. You can only carry them in some states though, I've lived in Florida for 13 years now, their legal here and I carry mine all the time. Just make sure your familiar with the major cities laws because they can be pretty broad on knife laws. Here in Tampa there is no standard so you can carry whatever you want. In Miami it's the same thing. I think only Alachua, Crestview, Fort Pierce, and Gainesville regulate knives.

  • @districtrandom Check the laws your state. It's my understanding that switchblades are legal in some states. It's important to check the laws and not rely on youtube for legal advice.

  • thats not a switchblade, thats a spring assisted flip knife

  • @mrkanker1 No its not. Its a switchblade because it has a button

  • because it has a button does not make it a swichblade

  • Its a button and its automatic. Spring assisted knives have tabs or whatever connected to the blade

  • spring assisted knives have buttons too

  • No they dont. Buttons are illeagal

  • no they are not idiot,

  • Yes they are. Stupid.

  • no your wrong they are legal they have them in almost every wallmart accross the country

  • Switchblades are knives that deploy the blade via a button on the handle.

Spring assisted knives deploy by pushing the blade out with your thumb. On a spring assisted, the button on the handle is only for closing the knife.

  • nope ur wrong.

a spring assisted knife folds open and you only have to press the button and it flips open if i cold id draw you a diagram.,maybe you idiots would understand that........

  • no they have a tab called a flipper. knives with a button are considered switchblades and are illegal.

  • If you want to sell that silver one then send me a message.

  • Does the safety lock into place? I have an older one and it will unlock if you shake the knife. I don't carry it because I've had it open in my pocket. Not a good thing.

  • No I have to slide the safety into position for it to work.

  • what a fucking boring ass nerdy mother fuckin video.......

  • i love it,but i dun't know wher 2 buy them

  • Go directly through bokers website.

  • ive got a smaller version of the goldish one and its a pretty cool little knife

  • those things are ilegal in canada!

  • Yea Canadian knife laws suck. It was hard for me to get these in my state.

  • arent these illegal

  • They are illegal to carry but not to own..

  • You sound just like dane cook

  • Thats funny a lot of people say that.

  • Nice review, thanks. However, this knife is made in Taiwan. The blade on mine says "420 Stainless Taiwan." The Boker website also states that Magnums are made in China or Taiwan.

  • where did yu get them??

  • They were a gift from a friend but you can find them online.

  • did u get them each 4 40 or both 4 40 total

  • Both for 40.

  • pretty good deal

  • very nice knives and video thx

  • ha is there a site u can go to so u can by the upgrade and put it in

  • Im not sure... I haven't looked into it but you might want to try boker's website.

  • I have the gemini which is one handed. Excellent quality.

  • awesome knife

    5stars

  • I have one of these for almost 6 years now, maybe longer, Mine is totally screwed up. The black teflon coating is almost totally gone. It's beat to hell, but it still functions flawlessly. When i bought it i got the bead blasted one, but it rusted in only a couple days. Maybe it was the moisture in my pants as i carried it. Anyways i returned it and got the teflon one. No spring in it but thats fine, You can adjust the spring, mine falls open just as fast as it would if it was auto. Get ONE!

  • I meant to say you can adjust the screw to be more loose. Easy sigle handed opening. The tiny screws started to fall out so i put some lock tight on them prob like 4 years ago and it's been fine ever since.

  • moisture in your pants haha jk

  • Hey I bought one of these knives at a local knife store and I plan to turn it into an automatic... but I don't know what size spring I need I've seen them at 1/2 3/8 and one other size. Note I think I have the small serrated tanto one if that helps.

  • I bought mine already fitted with a spring. Im not sure what size you would need but I would check out Bokers website and see what they say.

  • thats a nice design for a blade the first

  • Nice! I like that black one. I just ordered one off the internet the gold one. It will not open. The button will depress but nothing. Did you have to do something to yours to get it to open? Thanks.

  • You have to read the fine print because I ordered a similar one off of amazon and it was not an auto. It was just a button lock folder. I would go through boker directly to be sure that you get an automatic.

  • Conversion kits, basically involving the addition of a simple spring, are easily found... and take about than three minutes to install.

The difference between a Böker Auto and a Böker Button Lock is simply the removal of one spring (i.e. switchblades are legal in Germany and these are all made the same). It's no major work converting one back. You're just putting a spring (which belongs in the knife) BACK that someone took out so the knife could be sold in the US.

  • Böker actually makes some nice autos. The 'Magnum Speedmaster' (what you have here) is their 'bargain basement' model. Check out their 'Speedlock' series for a really nice knife at under €100... or their 'Plus' models, which allow the choice of fully-automatic versus one-handed, unassisted opening for around €60-70.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • Once you go full auto, you'll never go back ;)

  • arent those spring assist knives?

  • No they are classified as automatic or switchblades because the blade is deployed by a button on the handle. Spring assisted knives are classified by being deployed by a flipper or thumb-stud located on the blade. The actuation on the handle is what makes the difference.

  • ohh, ok. i dont know much about knives. i bought a retractable knife today. but why do they call it a spring assist knife if they dont use springs?

  • Spring assisted is just a general term. Most assisted knives use torsion bars to propel the blade open.

  • ok thanks

  • opens slow it looks like

  • The black one I have opens slower but the silver one opens incredibly fast. I actually like that the black one opens a bit slower.

  • they both open slow alot slower then my godson

  • Well compared to a microtech they will open slower. They are not even comparable in quality so that will lend itself to why they open differently.

  • my bad its the ak 47 magnum

  • O ok cool!

  • ive seen a different boker magnum with a black blade and looks way different

  • Boker has put out several knives with this name. Most of them are just different variations of the same knife but not all. Also as the years have gone by the knife has evolved and looks different.

  • Wow those are fuckin awesome! Albiet they're illegal, they're still beautiful.

  • nice blade'z

  • Thanks!
