There are even videos on youtube where the IS350 beat a 335i in a drag race. Go see for yourself. If an IS350 beats a 335i, what does it do to a 330i? haha it will KILL it. IS350>BMW 330i/335i. Anyone who has driven both for a good amount of time would agree with me. I had both cars, sold my 335, and got my IS350 which has a much nicer drive.

If its straight line speed, the 335i hands it ass again. Through a tune on the 335i and your competition is no longer what Lexus offers but much faster cars. The IS is cheap built. Toyota switches. PRINTED wood grain. Ehh I'll pass. IS350 is no fun. Electronic power steering is crap.

In our household we have 2 beamers left after we sold the 335, still got 750li and an X5, id like to say the X5 is crap, the 750 is really nice. Lexus has much better reliability, and is more comfortable drive and more luxurious (comparing the IS350 to 335). The 335i has a very stiff drive, crappy seats, and sucks.

@snaggle1337 - Right. I've driven and tested more cars than you can think of. But no point in arguing. BMW won more engine awards than any manufacturer. Made first hydrogen ready vehicle. Made hybrids using lithium vs Lexus LS600h which adds 900lbs of expensive batteries and only gets 2mpg better than a S550, thats before it over-heated. BMW 3-Series is best in class. You should've known what your buying, BMW is known even by 10 year olds as the sportiest in its class. But Reliability =/= Fun.

How is it a copy? Besides the 8-speed transmission, its totally different. The design is sharper, front is sharper and the rear is lifted. If you say that, than I can say that the LS460 is a wanna be S-Class. And doesn't matter, there are still more sales for a 335i over a IS350. The 335 is just about but not as fast as the old m3. the m3 is lighter (carbon fiber body or a lot of carbon fiber parts if im not mistaking ) the old one thats is and it has 333 horses and its a naturally aspired engine, while the 335 has a twin turbo and puts out 300 horses, so the m3 is still a quicker car, plus the fact that it has been specifically tuned for a sportish performance also gives it an edge

The E46 M3 is 3.2L 343Bhp with no turbo.

The M3 therefore has finer control of revs because it doesn't suffer from turbo 'boost'. Plus it's 36Bhp more powerful and lighter.

BMW are pretty cars. 2001 M3 looks beautiful. But i dunno about old 2000 and under BMW engines. Might not be too reliable. Great Comment. Mercedes is more luxury than styling. I've tested each of the new S-Class and it was amazing. I chose the Mercedes S65 AMG was a best all around in its class. Wouldn't go for either of those cars - the BMW 335i is without any doubt the sport sedan of choice when looking at anything short of an M3 at this level of running gear. I've sampled the 3.5 V6 in the Aussie released Toyota Aurion and can't praise it enough. For all that, though, BMW's twin turbo straight six is in a league of its own. The speed is effortless, constant and ballistic, and the chassis is leagues ahead of anything else in the same ball park.

I test drove the Lexus after I posted the comment below and I reliezed how much that thing sucks. But the reason why I like my is300 better than new 350 and 335i has nothing to do with looks or handling, it's has something to do w/the potential power that car has.

Lexus all the way... Everyone and their mother drives a 3 series, and they are not near as reliable as the Lexus. The Is almost does the 1/4 1 second faster, it's a no brainer.

Sorry, but Toyota Motor Company has slipped down to 4th in quality since there where a few Toyota and Lexus models that had major engine and interior quality issues. Its was the Toyota motors that where reliable, not the material and interior feature or electronics like BMW. BMW's 3-Series always had a great engine. Won so many awards from Quality to Power. The Inline-6 is just amazing, so the new 335i is better than its competition.

It did, the new 335i beat all of its competition in performance and handling and interior quality. Design is very nice and interior design is also liked. So, yes the 330i is better in Performance, Handling, Quality and Design. The IS350 is great and the IS-F will be a great competitor to the M3 and RS-4.

BMW 330i, is bang for the buck. Its got everything you would want. If, it gets up there in price I would rather go for a 2007 335i thats faster than the IS350, G37, CTS, C-Class, and Audi A4. So once again BMW has shown that Performance, Handling, Quality and Design they have covered.

I drove the 335 and IS350 both one after the other and I could see what the hype was all about. The 335 was insanely powerful and extremely fun to drive while the IS350 was good for a Lexus, but no match of the 335TT. The comparison of 335 and IS350 by Edmunds pretty much said exactly the samething where the 335 simply outclassed the IS350. The 335 has the all-around best performance in it's class.

The 335i is just more a daily driver. You get a feel for the car and you get used to the car and it just gets to you. While the IS350 is just a car, no feel that its really that good. Still bother superior quality and really nice.

I've driven both my mom has a 330i and my dad bought me an is300 and I have to say both cars are very nice and fun to drive but I think the BMW is a much better car, not to mention more recognizable.

If you know about us Lexus guys we tune our cars after we get them. Remember what they said we are faster in a straight line so what is left is tweek the suspension and throw in a supercharger and we'll beat the 335i any day. this title is wrong, they just compared the 330i to the lexus is350, not the is300. they should have compared the is300 to the 330i and then compared the is350 to the 335i....either way, the bimmer would be the winner though. and the 335i would have smoked both lexus cars with no problem and with having less hp too.

335i are superb against its competitors. I see the new G37 is quite on fast. G37 has 350HP superior to the 335i's 300HP. Its definatly faster than the 335i , IS350, CTS, but its not going to out handle the 335i and IS350. The CTS yea cause CTS is junk, compared to Asian and European competitors.

The guy said the Lexus IS 350 does 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, but Car and Driver clocked the 335i sedan at 4.8 seconds, clearly way faster than the IS 350.  Also, the fact that the Lexus does not have a manual gearbox is plenty reason not to buy it.

you are a dumbass, G37 does 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. Thats over a half second slower than the 335i. Infinitis are garbage, they didn't even bother tuning the G35 engine, they just made it bigger. That's a real American move.
