i doubt its a fake. The way the lion checked the scent first means the sent was different from normal, so it opened its mouth where it has a sense recognition area, and recognized their sent. So heartwarming that it remembered them after all that time

i read an article their names are mona & lisa and they were also rescued lions who were part of the pride so i guess they're also use to human contact

Well, considering that Christian was the head of the pride...if he indicated that it was okay to be around the people, I'd imagine that the other female lions thought it was fine, as well. In an army...don't soldiers trust their superior to make a decision? I would think it would be the same way in this case. He wasn't hostile, and the lions apparently saw how much Christian loved these people by his affection...so they communicated likewise in respect.
