I like to paint in oils, acrylics and watercolours but have never mastered digital painting even though I have a wacom tablet. It's like trying to paint with my right hand ( I'm a southpaw). It's not much good for anything apart from adding tone and colour to pen and ink drawings, which I scan into my computer. Actually drawing with a pen tablet too difficult and frustrating, as I can never get the results I want. I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
not long ago even saw your videos and hope you continue to surprise me more about this than me being me is spectacular graphic designer is amazing what you greetings from mexico
lol i hate these garbage videos that claim "how to" this doesnt show anything, title should be replaced with "How to tease people of my artistic abilities"
@dothisdothat321 These videos actually show how to draw and paint on a wacom tablet, thanks to them I'm now able to make thing that would amaze me just a few weeks ago, I am able to understand how to draw/paint with this videos, you should search for videos that claim "How to (step by step)" or "How to (for slow-brain morons)" I think that could help you :)
Thank you... It´s funny because we can copy tthe masters but can we create new paintings as good as theirs? It´s far more difficult... You use photoshop like I´ve never seen anyone use before, congratulations.
The painting technique is great, ive been modifying pictures for quite some time, some even extremes, but found it hard to do painting. im using only mouse, no tablet you see. So this is something really good here. Very awesome work. Besides the fact that she has no eyelashes on the left eye everything else is Magnifico.

Could you please make a similar video but in real time and guide us through what type of brushes you use to accomplish certain textures and also how you layer your work, i think your work is amazing
I appreciate the work, but I fail to see how a "speed" video accomplishes anything for the viewer. A real time, step-by-step video would be involved, I realize, but so instructive.
Hi there i really enjoyed your work i do have a tablet pc pavilion tx2000 can i use it for drawing i do have pen for that i know i can do basic painting but the soft wear you use or other think i dont know what they are can you please drop me a line and let me know what kind of soft wear you are using thank you so much.
@nyny27 Hmm, it depends on which Bamboo tablet you own. I've owned both a Bamboo Pen and an Intuos4 (which I still own). But the Bamboo Pen only had 512 levels of pressure. For finer art like this, you'll need at least 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. The Bamboo Pen & Touch model offers 1024 LOP, but I'm not sure how well it works. But if you have a Bamboo Pen & Touch, I think you are capable of this, because I've seen artists do this good on old Intuos3 models, which were all 1024 LOP.
hi. may I ask why you make drawing so precisely before if after you put colors. are they multiply in any way? why its better. ?or its just your technique...becouse I m a painter and I dont see the point in drawing so precisely if you put colors afterward. please repond. thanks.

Misleading title. Without talking us through the steps involved and by speeding up the process how are we supposed to learn "how to paint a portrait"? This isn't a tutorial so why the misleading title?
You realize that it is just as difficult if not to an extent harder on a digital device? Simple because your transitioning from a plan where you can see your surface underneath your brush or pencil, and on a tablet you cannot.
The only thing a tablet honestly provides is the tools to create such a piece. Chalk, charcoal, pencils, paint and canvas are all HELLA EXPENSIVE A tablet is a onetime buy that way we can produce everything digitaly without having to pay alot
you have infinite paint and you can even undo mistakes, if i gave a tablet to my mum she could make something like this too. I bet Jlorka can't even make a simpel drawing with pen and paper
@darkdeity200 Although I appreciate what you're saying, you're not talking from anywhere with much experience. The truth is, digital has become industry standard in a whole range of jobs like concept and illustration. The fundamental/initial designs are often done in pencil, but it varies from artist to artist, but when it becomes to producing the final concepts/finished product, artists are usually expected to use digital means due to a huge increase in efficiency (in quality per time spent) ;)
@darkdeity200 I don't agree with this. What the artist in the video did was to move from an outline to a grisaille like underdrawing/painting to a very refined finished painting that looks oil painted but with the fine gradations of color of water painted images. Any painter who could produce an oil portrait with the finely and delicately blended colors we see here would be world famous. This is "old master" quality work done by a "very good" artist using digital media. No time to say more : )
try using soft brush for hard surfaces then at the ends of them use a airbrush set to opacity->pen pressure and shapes dynamics on , that way it will give you smooth brush strokes. hope that helped.......

Chapeau!!!

yes I use a tablet, is there any chance that you can give a tutorial it would really help! I know your busy but this would really help us artists out there very much. Not so much learning the interface but maybe the technique you use with brushes, opacity, perhaps what ispires you most! By the way muchas gracia para tu responsa, "si lo escribio correcto" yo se hablar un poco pero es deficil para escribirlo. Uses Mac o PC

yes I use a tablet, is there any chance that you can give a tutorial it would really help!

Disculpa la traducción.

Using PC. In my channel you have two tutorials on the use and configuration of brushes.
They are in Spanish but can be interpreted visually.
They see it as using a variation of flow, opacity ... shape.
Hope will be useful.
Excuse the translation.

very nice painting, working digitally like this is also very good practice for working in more traditional mediums.

It excuses my translation:
The procedure is essentially identical to the traditional painting.
Thank you.

Your the man.. The last two videos you posted are awesome. I had to watch them in HD I don't normally do that but because it slows my machine so much and causes the sound to be bad but it was all worth it!
Thanks again for sharing!
