• HK came home to his mother! thanks god...

  • @Rocketpeace1 none of your biz, man

  • wtf is on with u, since when did i call u a highlander

  • what song is that in 2:49

  • What is that tune called in the beginning?

  • Oh man... whats gonna happen in 2047?

i dont think the laws are gonna be the same

  • Goin to war with China is goin to hard work but the old empire will come through to rescue mother britain you watch ;]

  • @loushky619 uk sucks dick they lost to some peasent called americans

    british empire my ass

  • Does anyone know the march names played at the beginning? Just wish they weren't talking over it!

  • is it the national anthem or england?

  • Englnd isn't a country, it hasn't been since 1707. Try to keep up.

  • great britain w/e like i give it shit

  • Obviously I meant how many europeans try to break into china (this paradise you think exists).

  • your so called western paradise is in shambles; it is a waste land of drunken fat people, with little motivation and drive and pityful futures; a new world order is upon you, and it is China. You are all going to die next week.

  • Oh please. You easterns and your cocky-ness. You all our were America was in the booming 20's followed by a massive bubble which caused the depression

China, India, etc. our all coming out of the agricultural age. Dont get to cocky now...

  • britains master the usa is bankrupt.

  • You REALLY have no grasp of how the world works, do you? The US, Europe and their cultural colonies (Japan, Taiwan, etc) control the world. China will only ever become a superpower if it becomes a liberal democracy, and if it does do that then it can longer bully the world (i.e. africa) into giving them their resources. Every time a dictatorship has tried to overpower the free people of the world it has failed, China will be no different. Fascism and human exploitation is doomed to failure. Ok?

  • mauren oww, you western powers are done, face it, you had your chance, during most of 1900s it's the west; but during those prosperous west times, you all have been resting on your laurels; and all while you all were enjoying your good harvests, your school childrens' dropouts increased, illiteracies increased, more people are have no health insurance, more household debts, and most of you just sit around eating your hamburgers and hotdogs just getting fat around your ass and bellys ha ha haa

  • Your last sentence invalidated your entire existence.

  • Lmfao. not all of them mostly i see more "gwai lo" that are fat as a fuckin blimp lol.

    ive never seen a Chinese/ Chinese-American fatass.

  • other arguments i might believe but there's no way in hell that u never eat a hamburger or hotdog in ur life b4

  • Try living in the real world, or, here's an idea, try travelling around china like I have, and then see if you love communist dictatorships. The chinese people don't, I can assure you. 95% of chinese would move to the west if given the chance; I know, because I asked almost everyone I met.

  • maruen oww, your western nations are going down the toilet, with your waning influence in the world standing. too many people dislike your western views and your western ways are losing credibility among everyone else, even your own people dont like your leaders' method of doing things. you western powers are too stupid, watching your special effects movies and stuffing your fat faces, keep getting fatter, and more stupid.

  • ' too many people dislike your western views '

Really? Individual freedom, human rights, democracy, people DON'T like those? Simple question: How many chinese people try to get into europe every year? Millions.

How many try to break into china? Hmm? NONE? Correct!

Clearly you've never lived in china, so please stfu and us all a favour you racist nationalist ignorant commie cuntflap.

  • well of course they said they would move because u r from the west, it would be rude to say no and they are just afraid to offend u.

  • the western powers are done; the next world order is upon us; that is China.

  • look at the westerners' expressionless stone cold faces; they know their time is coming to an end; ass get kicked out; China power rising.

  • 'ass get kicked out;'

ER...no....they were honouring an agreement with the chinese government (which they didn't have to do, because the real chinese government who they made the agreement with is of course Taiwan).

So really you should be grateful and impressed with the way this amazing city they built was handed over to your military dictatorship.

    So say 'Thasnk you Britain'.

  • How come the China's flag is bigger than UK's flag? lol...

  • Just the dimensions, the Union Flag is 1:2 while China's is specified to be wider.

  • It's to make up for the asians very small penis size.

  • My dad was most observant. He said that the mainland will do its utmost to follow the Basic Law. HK will really coattail Taiwan for many decades. 1c-2s is a showcase for the world to accept , after a few decades, coercion on Taiwan to accept a similar deal. The mainland will be patient and use its bulk, developed in the decades to come, to compel Taiwan to accept a HK like deal. Yes, Taiwans economy will eventually suffer if it does not accept the PRCs embrace, 2030, 2040. Peaceful, certain.

  • Most HK people didnt like the Brits and colonial rule but they were also concerned if the mainland government could be trusted to give HK the stipulated autonomy. If one country-two system works it will be good for HK. Ambivalence was the best description then; there was actually great optimism in 1997. Property prices peaked soon before or soon after handover.

HK people today have far greater trust, even with disatisfaction from the ideal, in the Central government. Fear is no longer there

  • Fuck both UK and CHINA!!! HK is not a ball!!! if i have to choose only one!! i will go for UK!!! CHINA SUCKSSS!!! IM from HK!!

  • china suck

  • Glad that HK was returned to its righful owner from a nation that smuggled and traded opium and in getting millions of people addicted to narcotics.

Have you ever wondered why such a small nation (UK) with little natural resources end up being so rich? Something to do with invasion of weaker countries and stealing their wealth? China will never allow itself to be weak again and be taken advantage of by foriegn powers. Other countries just have to deal with its emerging power.

  • Yes, China is no longer a weak nation as in 19th century. It is on the rise, and will soon become a super power.

  • Check your history mate. The British didn't get millions of people addicted to opium. Only 1-2% of the UK populous had even tried it by 1890! China played the largest in the proliferation of opium, the British just monopolised trade of it on the seas.

  • What a shame. Such a sad day. I'm an American, but Hong Kong going to China only means the country will eventually (if not already) become backwards, as the chinese are backwards people.

  • No wonder you feel sad!

Hong Kong will emerge along with Mighty China as part of the world's future superpower whose clout will be second to none

  • no its not, britian is not a superpower anymore, but its military prowess is second to none. an example is falklands war, at goose green, the argentine had roughly 3500 defenders, the british only had 600 attackers, yet britain still won decisively.

  • HK will keep on thriving under China rule.

Oneday she will surpass London and it's a slap on the face to those Brits

  • your mum is backwards, or at least she likes it that way. forced entry etc!

  • Shame? It was a day of proud! U think China is backward? We just won the Olympic, sending people in space, and China is the biggest creditor of USA,where each American borrowed 4000 from the Chinese.I am shocked with your comments.Making HK a colony was a shame for UK,colonalism is the ugliest thing in the world. U American should think what u did in Iraq,Vietnam,Cuba,Balkan, middle east, how u supprt Isarel slaughter Arabs before u criticize other people.

  • but in the chinese olympic team, the athletes are taken away from their parents and forced to train untill they give no more. in the civilised world the children should be able to voluntarily join their national team

  • 'We just won the Olympic, sending people in space'

LOL with the largest team in olympic history, 1.3 billion possible athletes, and a communist government forcing children to compete, it's hardly a surprise. And people into space? Russia did that in 1961, so you are 45 YEARS (that's ALMOST HALF A CENTURY) behind the leading nations. Well done! What next, you're going to develop colour television? Your country is a joke, the only reason it is of importance is because there are so many of you.

  • ditto

  • maureenOWW; this China nation that you call a joke, allows the United States of america to keep their "eco-no-money" to continue their governments operations by purchasing over $800 Billion of the usa"s government treasury bills! Yes China is a joke, a joke that can borrow money to a superpower such as the united states of america.

  • Firstly, learn to speak english.

Secondly, the fact that China is buying up US debts shows how ignorant the chinese are; do they SERIOUSLY think that the US will ever honour those payments at the same rate they were issued? They will only pay them back when the dollar has gone through the floor and is next to worthless.

Then China will be sitting there and saying 'Oh...er...what just happened?'

Basically, china has been conned, tricked, played like the china-nation that it is.

    Silly slints.

  • maurenow; englehs is no longer rlevint anymroe; ingledn es no morre, the west is no morr. they kep adding fat to there billy

  • You racist white assholes are not better. You lack a soul that why you are able to justify all your genocide and murder. Go suck your momma pussy you dumbass.

  • The final end of the worlds most powerful empire :( MAY SHE RISE AGAIN!

  • bunch of ppl migrated overseas especially Canada, England, and Australia when 1997 was approaching. I bet they regret that. Hongkong still the same just under different jurisdiction.

  • Many are going back now... there was a recent estimate in Vancouver about how much benefits those who no longer live here are still reaping...

many celebrities didn't leave after nothing shitty happened despite getting their residencies in foreign countries years earlier.

  • Coverage made possible by TVB

  • Impressive, but since the audio quality's so old, it doesn't sound as good as it should.

  • we have loads of ppl from hong kong over in here England, if you ask alot them they moved over because of the handover.

  • They're trying to take over England...

  • @awong20XX You really think so? Or maybe because they are scared of dirty poor mainlanders coming in and take everything Hong Kong people had worked for, in the name of 'China'. Not to mention, Hong Kong people are averagely wealthier than an average Enlgishman.

  • @BF2superfans Well we are richer than your country and plus we owned you.

  • @solidsnake117100 richer??? In what perspective do you think China is richer than Hong Kong? HAHA, maybe you are true, China is RICHER IN MAKING FAKE SHIT. But if you mean rich as in WEALTH, I am sorry, WE ARE WEALTHIER THAN you stupid mainlanders.

You 'owned' me?? You own me what, my freedom, my right to speak? I am sorry, You own me nothing. You may have an army in Hk, but you will never own our hearts. I will never call myself a Chinese, suck me off.

  • @BF2superfans How am I a highlander if I was at least we don't shoot our women and children and I was not talkking about china I was talking about your homeland.

  • @solidsnake117100 then ignore my words. i have nothing against the british or the scottish or anyone, it is the chinese government and its people that really get on my tits. and for your information, it is the chinese government that killed and shoot their own innocent people. Have a good day.

  • @BF2superfans I was having a goodd day untill you came up and call me a highlander one more time I'm going to be so racist it's not even funny.

  • Is this video available for downloading anywhere? I've tried emule but nothing appears

  • Well, it was originally a 99-year lease that was agreed in 1898 when Britain was awarded the final territories of Hong Kong. Of course, the details of how the lease would end were not hammered out in 1898. It took a meeting between Deng Xiaoping and Margaret Thatcher in 1984 to finalize the return of Hong Kong to China.

So regardless of whether anyone agreed to the handover or not, it was going to happen because it was already agreed upon in 1898.

  • no only the new territories were leased from the Chinese Empire. Hong Kong Island and Kowloon were ceded permanantly to Britain

  • no, only for 99 years

  • Keep the pride to yourself because you don't want to eat your own words if China falls again. China's economy is growing fast but is it strong enough to hold its growing rate?

  • you know, people DID NOT CHOOSE IT

that awful day was result of the sino-british joint declaration of 1984, between Maggie and Deng Xiaoping.

nobody consulted the HK people, why? because the polls of that time show, that people in HK was MASSIVELY AGAINST return to China: if they had voted no at a referendum, China would have made a fuss (and maybe war)...

HK (VERY UNFORTUNATELY, once again), HAD to be returned, because of1 chinese nationalism

    2 the 1898 99 years lease...

  • Hong Kong people did not choose to be ceded to Britain either...

    the opium war did/

  • exactly

  • ahhhh composer in a solider suit....

  • You know, Hong Kong is and always be a part of China just as England, Scotland, Wales, and N. Ireland are and always a part of Britain.

Actually, the British should be a proud of themselves for ending the legacy of colonialism.

  • lol why did i get -1, i have a right to say what scottish people think lol other people cannot judge me, i am scottish lol :P

  • I gave you +1 for being Scottish.

  • thanks, i give u +1 for being... whatever u are lol

  • but england, scotland, wales and n. ireland all share a common law, hong kong and china doesn't

  • No the UK law is split into three, one for England and Wales, one for Northern Ireland and one for Scotland.

  • Another spam from a "Rule Brittania" activist.

  • I also went back to HK in Dec/2006. I witnessed the changes in HK. It was cleaner and more organized than before handover to China. May be because of the development in the mainland has some positive effects and and pushed HK do better. Over all, I enjoyed my trip in HK as well as in mainland.

  • @wikct2 We Hongkongers are always civilised and well-behaving people... the improvement you have witnessed is solely to do with us, not the Chinese.

  • @douglastytam hong konger = chinese

  • @calvinli3489

I'm afraid there's a misconception here. Hongkongers're people of different ethnic background, with the vast majority of them being ethnic Chinese; so saying 'Hongkongers = Chinese' is misleading and is not true.

  • @douglastytam what is the different ethnic background? is there a 57th ethnic group? if hong kongers have a different ethnic background, then the people in guangdong province must be from the same ethnic background

  • @calvinli3489

hongkonger is not chinese, because chinese speak mandarin but hongkonger speak cantonese.

  • @BAIYUE1 hong kongers are ethnically chinese. cantonese is a chinese dialect. hong kong celebrates the same holidays as mainland china, and also uses chinese characters. how are hong kongers not chinese?

  • @calvinli3489

Why mandarin is official language of chinese while Cantonese is only chinese dialect? It is not suitable.

Hongkonger still has other government, other flag to chinese. So hongkonger still isn't chinese. It is my opinion.

  • @BAIYUE1 cantonese is also spoken in guangdong and guangxi provinces. it is one country, two systems, with the government of hong kong being loyal to beijing in the end. if you look at the official name, it is hong kong special administrative region of the people's republic of china. hong kong, china. enough said

  • @calvinli3489

question is Cantonese is also language of Han chinese, but why chinese don't teach Cantonese together mandarin in Guangdong where most of people speak Cantonese?

Hong kong is special administrative region. It is true. But if say Hong kong is small country,it is not wrong.

Because Hongkong has own territory, own flag, own government, own language,......

And key point is hongkong was controlled by Chinese mandarin government, and have to pay so much tax for chinese mandarin government.

  • @BAIYUE1 mandarin is taught together with cantonese in guangdong. i have relatives in guangdong, and they speak both. the people there just prefer to speak cantonese. it is the same in shanghai, and fujian where people prefer to speak their own dialect rather than mandarin. hong kong is controlled by the mainland because it was part of china before the british came to colonize hong kong. if you look at the hong kong flag, it has 5 stars, just like the flag of the peoples republic of china.

  • @calvinli3489

No,you wrong. In Guang DOng,It is only Mandarin was taught in school.Reason for CAntonese still live is Cantonese still was spoken in family or in some local TV station.

But many area of Guangdong now is only speak mandarin as zhouhai or zhenshen. And it is making Cantonese worry about their language which is only dialect with chinese mandarin.

  • @calvinli3489

In Singapore they have slogan "Mandarin is chinese".And have campaign promote mandarin. So whether Cantonese or fukkienese or hakka or tewchow is not chinese.

It is same in China.Chinese government call "Cantonese or hakka or fukkienese..." is Han chinese, but they don't have any action to reserve them. They only promote strongly mandarin.

So i wonder that whether "Hongkonger is not chinese?"this is my opinion.

  • @BAIYUE1 your opinion is ignorance. if hong kongers are not chinese, why do they use chinese characters to write? why do they celebrate the same chinese holidays? in guangdong people refuse to speak mandarin and speak cantonese instead. hong kong has SUB NATIONAL status, which means it is NOT a country

  • @calvinli3489

Korean or Vietnamese or Japanese even can read or use chinese character if they want.

And Hongkonger is also.So actually,Cantonese has Cantonese character which similar with chinese character

and Cantonese latin which similar with Pinyin.

Chinese is big,and many culure of China is not only of Han chinese. So In Korean or Vietnam is also celebrate many festival as China. So Cantonese or Hongkonger is not exception.

  • @BAIYUE1 so during the olympics, why does the chinese national anthem play whenever hong kong wins a medal? why do their shirts say HONG KONG CHINA? if hong kong is a country, why dont they have any representation in the United Nations? Taiwan does not have representation either. neither does Macao

  • @calvinli3489

    It is policy,my friend.

Hongkong is so weak to compare with rest of china. And of course ,Hong kong was controlled by chinese mandarin government.Military in Hong kong is also chinese mainland, not of Hongkong.

Taiwan is exception. They have 2 party,DPP and KMT.KMT represent for ROC(republic of china) and DPP represents for ROT(republic of Taiwan).

Hongkong has nearly enough factor to become one country as government,flag,currency,language,...they only lack land and military .

  • @BAIYUE1 please get your facts right. do not say hong kong WAS controlled by the chinese government... it IS controlled. hong kong belongs to china. it belonged to china until england came to steal hong kong away

  • @calvinli3489

So for me ask one question.

Why after hongkong is controlled by chinese mandarin government, many talent hongkonger go to abroad, and about 1/4 go to abroad?

And why Hongkong has to pay so much tax?

After Hongkong comeback mainland,Hongkong's economy develop slowly(handover in 1997,and crisis in 1998)

  • @douglastytam That's true, unfortunately, The Chinese are going to change everything like destroying the ferry harbour, demolishing old colonial buildings and even erased some street name honoring British monarchs or Governors but most were left well alone for now. The post boxes were painted green instead of red and removed the "EIIR" sign on them.

They will even try to destroy everything British though the basic law prevent it happened as yet.

  • @douglastytam They also even try to make HK people to speak mandarin instead of Cantonese.

  • @DavBlc7 It's the same in the UK - does Welsh or Gaelic really have any practical use?

  • @DavBlc7 do you even think the difference between mandarin and cantonese?

  • What's wrong with the death sentence?

  • enzopascarella just making a fool of himself.

Death penalty only existed during UK colonial rule before the 1970s (or maybe the 60s). Since then capital punishment in HK was never reinstated, even after 1997.

  • So is death by lethal injection in the US.

  • Death sentence is legal in many states of the so "democratic" and "human rights protector" country of United States.

  • United States country is a good country that I can't disagree, but they owe China a lot of money in the moment and it's in recession.

  • the port city was leased to them not given to them for FREE

  • That's the reason why the british media hate China, because Britain do not have the power to keep what they wanted from China in the 21st century.

  • y? i think US should under Indian rule but not under those white trash...

  • asdf9jkl, British rule is no different to the current HKSAR government.

  • Yeah, they still use many British ways of doing things. Idiot.

  • That's why for some reason politics in HK is a lot tamer than anywhere else in Asia. lol

  • I was born in HK and Born under the Crown of Hong Kong, and will always be a loyal subject to HER MAJESTY, THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND. And the Crown and her Colonies and Dependent States

  • You are born in HK which is part of China Proper, a land stolen by those you shamelessly bow to them. Assuming you were born in the late eighties, you never experienced what ordinary Chinese Hong Kongers had gone through prior to the late eighties. I assume your parents were those few well-off privilege elitists proudly loyal to their British masters, which is why they won't say anything bad about the British.

  • Anyway. HK is no longer an imperial colony of Britain, and those who bow down to their British masters like dogs should pack up their bags and go to England.

  • Your are a hypocrite. You can say we stole the land, but what did you do with Tibet.

  • Tibet is part of China for 700+ years. Can you refute that?

Also, the UK, who used to own India back then, tried to screw over Tibet while China was going through the turmoil. Can you refute that?

Hypocrite? You're just another imperialistic tool, douchebag.

  • HK is part of China no matter you like or not. Go for your so called Her Majesty, the Queen who does not even recognize Hong Kong people as British citizen. The majority of HKger are happy to be part of China because China is changing for the better. Rising China means rising respect to Chinese people around world. People like you should stay in GB and continue to praise your Queen of England and don't come back to HK.

  • hehe the funny part is that Hong Kong citizens are not considered as Chinese citizens. It is true, go check your passport, it does not say that you are chinese citizens

  • lmao...

    a) they don't care about you

    b) they don't want you.

Bow down to her all your want./

  • the uk is the model of politics and law, founded in the 0900's. every country in the world bases us the (basic) uk politics and law as their own.

  • The song at the beginning!

  • What is the song that they are playing with the trumpets???

  • Trumpet Voluntary (Prince of Denmark March) by Jeremiah Clarke

  • Thanks;) You too;)

  • Wow, this is very powerful to watch. I know about what the people in Hong Kong had gone through because I am Puerto Rican and my country is a colony of the United States.

Will my country ever be independent?

    Que Viva Puerto Rico!

Happy new Year!!! All the best in 2008!!!

  • Happy New Year to you too.

I hope your country will become independent.

  • hong kong would have been much better if it was still controlled by the british

  • Hmmm... much better? Hong Kongers had enough with the bullshitting by the British, and I bet the Scots and the Northern Irish are feeling the same too.

  • Ah the UK is still a force in the world. In terms of GDP by end of 2006/ start of 2007 it's sheer size of economy rank fifth in the world, only behind China. (China is expected to overtake Germany and become the 3rd largest economy in the world in terms of GDP by the end of 2007). Given the contrast in size the conclusion is obvious.

  • Questions and Answers (cont.)

After 1997, Hong Kong Chinese people elected their first President of HKSAR, and every time the number is increasing. Is this more democracy then the British rules? Answer: YES.

  • HK people cannot vote, there is no president in HKSAR, there is less democracy since the British left, im from HK so i know the truth, your answers are all incorrect

  • Questions and Answers (cont.)

In 1984, British bowed to China and agreed to return Hong Kong to China. Is Great Britain that great as what she was called? Answer: No. China is more greater J

In 1997, 1st of July, All Chinese celebrating Hong Kong return to China throughout China. Did the UK television have reported this news? Answer: NO.

  • Britain did not bow to China, the 99 year lease on the New Territories was running out and this is the reason the negoitations started

not all people in HK celebrated july 1st 97, it was not something to be excited about, HK was fine under British rule

  • skyhigh - "not all people in HK celebrated july 1st 97" Of course not. But I'd say most did. It's the same as saying not all people in England celebate the Queen's birthday. Just a pointless argument.

"HK was fine under British rule" This depends on who you ask and in what area "fine" is.

  • Questions and Answers (cont.)

In 1945, The British soldiers were the first to leave Hong Kong when Japanese entering Hong Kong. Will the British fight for us? Answer: NO. AND WE DIDN'T EXPECT YOU WILL.

In 1982, Thatcher felt down on the stair in Beijing because her legalization of the 3 treaties was not compromise by the Chinese. She thought she could keep Hong Kong as permanent colony because of these 3 treaties long time ago. Is she a loser? Answer: YES.

  • Questions and Answers:

In 1840, HK Island was ceded to barbarian British forever according to the Treaty of Nanjing. Opium was legalized. Is this treaty an evil act? Answer: YES.

In 1854, Kowloon peninsula was ceded to barbarian British forever according to the Humen Treaty. Is this treaty an evil act? Answer: YES.

In 1897, New Territories were forced to cede to barbarian British for 100 years. Is this treaty an evil act? Answer: YES.

  • calling the British barbarians is rude and racist, why dont you blame the Quing dynasty for signing HK to the British

if the British are barbarians to you then you would have to admit that Communist China is barbarian also, especially since it killed 70 million chinese from 1949 to 1976

  • skyhigh - "blame the Quing dynasty for signing HK to the British" That's not a fair thing to say when the Qing dynasty was literally under the gun - erh - cannons actually.

I do agree with your point that Communists and British are BOTH barbarians, neither one an angel.

  • yeah, lets blame the qing for losing the opium wars against a militarily more advanced state.

  • @fengxie07

The ceding of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon are the consequences of China's defeat. The Chinese must learn to face failure and bear possible consequences; there's no point for blaming other people and run away from the reality.

  • oh yes awong20XX XD you remind me the number of protester were less then 10 thousands. haha

  • No matter what, you guys couldnt stop 1.2 billion chinese to work hard and transform our life and also transforming our country to a super power. Lets see Dude. :)

  • Actually only hundred of thousands on protest, but we have 1 million people get on the street to celebrate and saw the fireworks happily. Why do the british TV news just dont have this news? one answer CRAP and fake!

  • news in China only shows you what they want, you are a hypocrite and very ignorant if you think only british news is biased

  • do you even know what hypocrite means

  • To CaptainCool07. No HK island was ceased forever, the only place which is 99 years is the New Territories. In 1984, Thatcher of the British side were trying to keep the HK island as their permanent colony but not success. With the one country 2 system and giving pressure to the British goverment in negotiation, the chinese govt successfully get back whole HK. :) thats why most people celebrate on 1st of July

  • Wow good to see the video again, we Hong Kong people are all chinese, good.

  • hk was "borrowed" by england for 100 yrs. then england extended the time to 150 yrs.(i think)

  • i like how your exactly like your communist counter-part. deleting unsavory comments against your opinion.

  • Actually you're an idiot; I deleted all but one of your multi-spams for your own damn information. Do you realize that it's quite immature and retarded that you multi-posted the same god damn comment on all my other similar videos? Seriously one comment is enough, don't multi-spam the same comment. Please show some courtesy and grow up next time.

BTW, your other comment is still posted on "Part 4", and plus there's my response to it.

  • People have been demonstrating against Chinese rule in the hundreds of thousands.

You misunderstood them. They're fighting for full democracy and other political, social, and environmental issues, and even the ones the UK gov't back then haven't really dealt with in a long time. And eventhough some or most don't like the CCP, they never rejected being part of China and being Chinese.

BTW, where did you get that "hundreds of thousands" from? LOL

  • Britain should have kept Hong Kong. Screw the lease contract, turn the island into a fortress and did in and let the chinks use their human wave attacks.

  • Hong Kongers are also Chinese. You should know that the word "chink" is very derogatory for me and my people in HK and the mainland. Sorry, you are blocked. You shouldn't have said that in the first place. What a shame immature person are you. The saddest fact is that you're the same age as mine.
