Unfortunately, it's too easy to accidentally flag someone. One time, I subbed someone, and I don't know what I clicked, but I flagged his profile pic. @TennisKing23 opps -- sorry, if the strikes are not legitimate, there is an appeal process you can undertake nd submit and yt will review. Typically these type of strikes come from non-copyright holders filing false infringement claims --- or, flagging a video for a false violation of community standards. The only strikes that cannot be removed are legitmate copyright infringement strikes in which the legitimate copyright holder reports. There is a reason why they are called COPYRIGHTS.

@yomammalikeit actually I used a brief clip from Braveheart and had it deleted, a strike filed/counter notice and then had it removed it was easy; The other time time was for a Madonna video

YT was burned big when they tried to take down a video by a mom who used a PRINCE song as the soundtrack of her toddler dancing in home movies; UMG also lost and YT was ordered to restore her video and pay damages

@TennisKing23 EXCELLENT POINT HE OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT UNDERSTAND - his strikes are legitimate! He is just grasping at straws right now because he has two legitimate copyright infringement strikes. One more & 4 years of work posting over 200 videos (in which he does not have a single copyright holder's permisson) goes down the tubes. That is the risk people take on yt. If copyright holder objects and reports it, yt has NO CHOICE (it's the law) but to issue a strike - 3 strikes & channel is zapped.

@gennx30 - it's kind of like getting busted for speeding even if others don't get caught. Copyright holder has FINAL SAY - upload without permision, get busted and you get strikes. From YT: "Only upload videos that you made or that you are authorized to use. This means don't upload videos you didn't make, or use content in your videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs, or videos made by other users, without necessary authorizations."

If they object to you infringing their copyright when you post THEIR work without permission, then there is no appeal process -- NONE. The manner in which you "re-master" videos is most disturbing to copyright holders. It would be like taking a Van Gough and making corrections to the painting based on your own taste. If you want to remaster music for you private perusal ok - BUT, not on yt. THE LAW IS VERY CLEAR!!!!

you guys you will be sued if they sent a TRUE copyright claim. if you don't have permission and use their stuff then the video was removed fairly. if you try to get it back you can be sued. and to those asking about the deleted video, the video address is all you need and it is listed in the notification. you just have to look.
