ENOUGH with the "viral" description. It's almost as though the media is using that word to immediately attach a negative stigma. Does the media describe an Obama speech as "viral?" Surely most of his rhetoric spreads in a similarly rapid manner. Enough already.

The ABC is a Government Network and has been bailed out recently.

Hannan is against bail outs and the type of stimulus packages the Australian government is giving out.

That is probably why they avoided the issue.

KironVB the ABC has never been "bailed out' it has always been a publicly funded network given a set amount of money from the annual federal budget. Its funding is necessary because it has a non commercial charter, very similar to that of the BBC on the UK.

The developments of the internet he is discussing is actually quite important. She's trying to go for the marketing side, and can be ignored, but he's saying that it's a huge tool for real democracy. The internet removes the ability of the establishment to control all sides of the discussion. We need to make sure that we need to keep it open!

I think he does know why it "went viral" -- he struck a deep chord that seldom sounds in that speach. The fact that it blew up so fast may seem unpredictable, but the message there should be a wake up call to any government , and LOTS of people agree with him all over the free world. Patrick Henry must be applauding!

Millions of us are stomping, raving, FURIOUS at the power grabbing by central governments going on all over the world, and yet, we feel completely unable to stop it. I don't think that many are that angry about the real problems(debt, central banks, big govt). Most people I hear are blaming it on a lack of regulation, capitalism or on the U.S. Their ideas of a solution is for the govt to spend more. Every time I try and explain the real causes, they either ignore it or think I'm some kind of anti-govt conspiracy nut. Well, the ant-govt bit is partly true :)

Unfortunately, Hannan is in the minority over here, just like Ron Paul in the U.S. We're all f*cked.
