yes it does. because HOW the meta knight breaks out depends on whether he's hitting him or not. in brawl, if you are hitting your opponent and they break out, they stay on the ground, but can shield. if you don't hit, they break out vertically, and you can hit them.

These are grab releases.
If your opponent breaks out of the grab he can't do anything, so that leads to some follow ups depending on characters.
