Nice out of context quotes. I especially like the "...." That shows the words that didn't "fit" your opinions.
Cain supported the idea of an effort to help the economy titled tarp. The problem is that congress changed the original ideas of helping people and decided to help the banks that gave faulty loans rather than helping shore up the crisis in other ways.
By the way, lets not forget that this crisis was single handedly caused by Barney Frank and his fellow Democrats.
@lavoyjohn Even if that were true (which I doubt), the government still had no authority to take such action. This just shows he’s a believer in Keynes, central planning, and the keeping Fed’s printing presses going full steam…..more of the same interventionist policy. There were plenty of conservatives that spoke out against TARP when Cain supported it. It didn’t take all that much to see the dangers. Cain just has no wisdom and is ignorant on too many issues.
LOL - another example of Cain losing his cool and getting snippy! Have you all noticed how when he gets a really tough question (or if Ron Paul is in the room LOL) he suddenly loses his cool and gets annoyed with the interviewer! Gee - just what I want for a president…NOT!
There is no way to tax corporations. That is what a corporation is for. Their income tax is built into their price structure, it's part of doing business. So even the ones that pay income tax, the consumer still foots the bill for that. Same with the consumption tax. The consumer foots the bill in the price structure. The simplest and most honest way to make everyone pay taxes is to ELIMINATE income tax as the Founders intended, and just pay a straight consumption tax. Then we all pay.
The poor do not pay income tax. In fact, many of them at present get back more than they paid. If you get a refund, and your refund because of credits and deductions is more than you pay in, guess what? YOU'RE NOT PAYING TAXES. 9 percent is a BIG hike for someone who doesn't pay anything right now. Not that I approve of that, I think everyone should pay so everyone's got skin in the game. But to say that at the lowest they pay 2-3 percent is just dead wrong. Zero or even negative is true

The TEA Party was meant to clean up Washington, but instead it got dirty real quick. Found out that 120 TEA Party backed Congressmen/ women voted YES to the Patriot Act last Thursday. Michelle Bachmann was one of them. Herman Cain? Federal Reserve chairman. Mitt Romney - "I'm not concerned about the voters" back in 2008. Ron Paul is the clear choice this time.
You never see Ron Paul supporting any bailouts or see him trying to avoid a position.
This guy is a BIG Fed Reserve supporter and thinks there hiding everythings a good thing. He was head of the KC Fed Reserve, a vote for him is a vote for big banksters ruining the country. Ron Paul 2012
I'm not sure what your background is, but for the last few years ever since the Frank-Dodd act was signed into law. One of the conditions of that legislation was full disclosure of all financial transactions on the Fed's balance sheet, includes all TARP transactions. I think that's a fair retort considering the accusations you have made. Also, TARP loans came out of the Fed's running balance, not out of the Treasury. By the time it was sent to the Treasury, it was paid in full with interest.
Bah, politics as usual.. rooting out the less ideologically "pure" so the one a collective group believes as being more "pure" takes the helm. This is human nature at it's finest
So you're saying that he wouldn't be in the tea party if he weren't a bad candidate? So we should just let Sarah Palin be president too because she is in the tea party. You are dumb. Ron Paul 2012.
At some point there will be a debate where the candidates ask each other a question... Ron Paul should ask Herman Cain "Seeing that you were the Chairman of the KC Branch of the FED, please explain why YOU GUYS found it necessary to send TRILLIONS OF AMERICAN TAXPAYERS DOLLARS to bail out FOREIGN BANKS over the years?
Herman Cain, former Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
If you don't understand what the Federal Reserve actually does thats ok because 99% of Americans have no idea what purpose it really serves. Here is a video to explain it all to you and it is highly recommended that you take 30 minutes to watch and understand then you'll know you don't want this guy in the WhiteHouse.
@gpsings1 Wow, you fail at reading comprehension. I guess this is why America is in trouble, they can't read! I said Cain SUPPORTED TARP, not that he voted for it. Obviously he couldn't vote for TARP, that wasn't his position. However, he was the Chairman of the Kansas Federal Reserve Bank, which means his bank directly benefited from TARP. So, I did do more than watch a video, as you claimed. However, I don't think you've done your reading. Anyways, Ron Paul 2012!!!
@gpsings1: Actually he DID "genius". Maybe you need to do your political homework before you start shooting YOUR mouth, K?!
If YOU want to vote for this guy and he DOES get elected (which he most likely will not) go right ahead. Hopefully for you, you don't have a bank account because all your money will be audited, especially money in your savings. I don't know about you, but I seem to like the money in my bank account--I like it a lot.
@gpsings1 Stop sitting around watching Fox News and actually GET OUT THERE and find out about this Herman Cain you love oh so very much. You'll find out real quick that he's just a liar!
the problem with Cain is he isn't any different than the rest of the republican when it comes to issues: Same Sex Marriage? No Lower Taxes? Yes Less regulation? Yes Bailout Businesses since they are "too big to fail"? yes Abortion? No Being friends with Isreal? yes.
I remember this and I thought it would be a good idea at that time a lot of people did it was a win win for the public. we were suppose to have had a share, but it did not happen also when they said all tax payers would have stock share in the mortgage bail out. then just before the bailout happened they changed every thing & screwed every one and Herman Cain stated that in a press release that he supported the tarp until they changed every thing
Awesome job by the person asking the questions. We need more proactive people like this since the main stream media isnt doing their job. So RON is a socialist becasue he works with some guys on the left but this guy is the goose that lays golden eggs? pfft
Hmmm, I don't see any positive response from Cain supporters to this video with run away quick style of an answer. When you have his bodyguards eyeing and pointing out someone asking tough questions and not sticking to the talking points, you know the guy's a bad dude... Herman the dough-throwin-pizza-bankster...
It sounds just like "I liked the Patriot Act because it's patriotic and keeps the scary brown people away,BUT I don't like it now because I want my rights back"
Herman Cain was the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas. That is all you need to know about him.
Until every State of The Republic void all vote counting machines and use paper ballots counted in view of the public, it doesn't matter who the United State Citizens choose for they are not the ones choosing.
Lets see, Herman Bush i mean Cain worked for the Fed ,he loves torture and fake wars on terror. I'm a Ron Paul guy and I'd rather have Obama for 4 more years than a fake conservative like Cain, americans will wake up faster with B.O. in the oval office.
I'm a Ron Paul supporter, but Herman Cain is not totally wrong on this one. I believe that the TARP is risky and is immoral to take taxpayers money to buy risk that the market is not willing to take, but if the play goes fine, it could be positive for the economy.
I repeat, I don't approve the TARP, but it can work. Just take a look at Citigroup, the government made about $12 billion profit from the $ 45 billion TARP to C.
@MrJustice01 One could justify all sorts of immoral and illegal things as having some sort of positive result. It doesn't matter. Immoral and illegal is immoral and illegal. Stealing from people to create profit is wrong, no matter how big the profit is and no matter who is doing it.
Herman Cain is part of the "controlled opposition" that has infiltrated the true grassroots "Tea Party" started by Ron Paul's 2008 campaign.
He may talk the talk, but he does NOT walk the walk. He is a FED insider at best... to any Tea Partier reading this and supporting Herman Cain, I plead for you to take a step back, REALLY study what this guy has done, WHO supports him and who HE supports and rethink your position. Ron Paul is your only choice. Period.
no barbbtx Ron Paul wants our own government to print its own money and not have to go back to the fed and borrow money on interest. Plus RP wants us to have our money backed by gold and silver so it won't be worth as much as an IOU slip.
cain also supports the Gold standard but until we can get there we deal with what we have.
Cain said that his time on the Fed board was one of his more enlightening and instructive times, learning about monetary and fiscal policy from that angle.
I suggest he knows more about how to get there than Ron Paul.
@barbbtx Cain supports the gold standard? Please post a link referencing his position on this and what his plan is to get there. Or... is this yet another case where he is planning to ask the planners how they would plan to do it?
don't let the Ron Paul rabiders stop you from voting for the one man who can turn this economy around. if we threw everyone under the bus who backed TARP, we'd have few left.
Herman Cain was elected chairman for the Federal Reserve Bank of KC. He knows the workings of it and wants to mend it, not end it. He has more experience concerning the Fed than Ron Paul, End the Fed, no answer to what will replace it. Congress? Oohhhh buddy, you want them in charge??
@barbbtx "if we threw everyone under the bus who backed TARP, we'd have few left." Which points out just how far down the tubes we've gone, and how corrupt our government has become. Anyone who supports theft to artificially prop up big banks and big business should be kicked to the curb. If that means few are left, so be it. No excuses.
If supports banker bailouts and then says "oh, I didn't know they were going to implement them like that." Then, he simply doesn't realize that govt plays no such role. This means he will make the same mistake again.
I believe Pawlenty made a similar mistake with green gas taxes and now regrets it. His mistake is that he doesn't realize the true role of a LIMITED govt.
lol at George Erdel calling Ron Paul a nut... if you are not from TN, google him, ran for congress as the Democrat tea party... and he is absolutely petrified of freedom in america and the constitution. grain of salt, people.
for him to say i do or don't agree with it is very simple, and takes less time to say, thats too long of a question to answer, and this is not the time.... when will be the time for you to out yourself as a cronie of the banks????
@jaketrobinson ambush?, the guy is at a fundraising event for his POTUS run... how is asking him his positions on important issues an 'ambush'? your comment is sad. if you look into the candidate's issues, you will see that Paul is far superior. if you want to continue to vote for the lesser of two evils EVERY ELECTION go ahead, destroy my child's future. bush did the opposite of what he campaigned on... and so did obama... the false left right paradigm is alive and well in your thoughts
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He is STILL my guy. He beats the tired worn out retreads that the party keep recycling every 4 years. Romney Huxter, etc are NOT conservative, and the Texan is just a nut so I would rather have this guy than any of them.
Yes why did he AVOID answering that particular question?
Herman Cain you just lost my vote. Can't answer one simple question. Notice when he get's confronted with the fed questions, suddenly he's not his cheerful friendly tea party self. Instead he reacts like a typical politician acts today. Herman Cain you're not ONE OF US!
To be honest,Ron Paul hasn't a snowballs Chance in Hell of Becoming POTUS,,Neither does Herman Cain.
the point is Mute. To tell the truth at this point in time I see No one worth a Crap coming to the top.
That said,Another 4yrs of Obama and you'll see armed Conflict break out in this country. The Economy that he has escalated to warp speed will cause that to happen, damage has been done and all by desigen by this Socialist Czar Cabnit he put together.
@deltaknight67 Polls over the past 8 months have shown things do be very different than you say in terms of RP's chances. Both Rasmussen and CNN polls have shown Ron Paul to clearly have the best chance against Obama in a general election as compared to any other potential contender. So the point is not "mute" as you say. Nor is it moot.
@TNSONSOFLIBERTY I just wanted to thank you very much for the videos you have provided concerning Mr. Cain. Much appreciated, and consider me subscribed.
@TNSONSOFLIBERTY You must have missed it on Glenn Beck's radio show where he said he would support auditing the fed. You might want to take your tin foil hat off
@31guitar Wow . you must have missed a lot of other things he said about there being no need to audit the fed. it already has enough internal audits etc. etc.. Just do a quick search. Not hard to find at all. He flip flops on this and many things. You might want to open your eyes and unplug your ears.
@wolfhybred He has said that, and he has said that he doesn't think anything will be found. But he has specified that if a bill came to his desk to audit the fed, he would not oppose it, he just isn't going to take the lead on the issue
@31guitar You actually beiieve anything he says after all his flip flops on...the debt ceiling. awliki assasination, the fed. YES he did flip flop ! among other thing. Wonder why he left his time at Aquila out of his resume? Maybe you should look real hard at how that 999 will work out in the details? I have come to the conclusion many of the American voters just love a good flip flopping lier for potus. What are ya gonna do? So he is new to politics.Oh wait he has run for office before too. TARP
@31guitar By the way I actually pay attention and research all of the candidates. I know exactly what he has said and hasn't said and what he has flipped flopped on. I will never understand those of you who decide to back a candidate so early and when they show their true colors you will still deny the truth when it slaps you in the face. Could you explain that to me?Sorry just have to vent. What is wrong with average voter these days?
@wolfhybred There is no flip flop on his position on the fed. He has said multiple times he would not be against auditing the fed but he wouldn't take the lead on it because he doesn't think anything will be found. that position has not changed. Now, you either dont know economics or failed math if you think 999 wont work out or will be regressive... plus he hasnt changed his position on TARP even though its not really politically convenient. I dont support TARP by the way
@wolfhybred 9-9-9 would be a tax cut for everyone. The poor pay at lowest about 2-3% of personal income tax plus 7.65% of the payroll tax. At absolute lowest, 9% is a decrease from 9.65%. At the highest (10% personal income), its a bigger cut. Getting rid of all those other hidden taxes and lowing corporate taxes, which all get passed onto the consumer in higher prices, the price of goods will drop. More money in your pay and less expensive items makes the national sales tax affordable
@31guitar 999 is a trojan horse. The FairTax made it a pre-condition that all other taxes would be removed FIRST.
It didn't make sense to me that Cain, a Fed Reserve insider, would support something that would get rid of the income tax. Temporarily lowering the rates to add another tax is exactly what I would expect from the Fed Reservist.

So RON is a socialist becasue he works with some guys on the left but this guy is the goose that lays golden eggs? pfft

Yes I supported TARP, but now I'd like it to all go away cause it's really really gonna screw up my campaign.
imrnlil 9 months ago 21
Mr. Cain said that he didn't know how they were going to implement TARP and that he didn't like it afterward because they picked winners and losers.
A couple good follow-up questions might be:
Why did you support something absent a clear strategy for implementation?
How could it have been implemented in order to not pick winners and losers, given that government necessarily does that whenever they hand out money?

Herman Cain was the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas. That is all you need to know about him.

MrJustice01 9 months ago

Period.
johnjen5321 9 months ago
no barbbtx Ron Paul wants our own government to print its own money and not have to go back to the fed and borrow money on interest. Plus RP wants us to have our money backed by gold and silver so it won't be worth as much as an IOU slip.
honkycabbit 9 months ago 2
@honkycabbit
cain also supports the Gold standard but until we can get there we deal with what we have.
Cain said that his time on the Fed board was one of his more enlightening and instructive times, learning about monetary and fiscal policy from that angle.
I suggest he knows more about how to get there than Ron Paul.
barbbtx 9 months ago
@barbbtx Cain supports the gold standard? Please post a link referencing his position on this and what his plan is to get there. Or... is this yet another case where he is planning to ask the planners how they would plan to do it?
chubstheclown 9 months ago
Good job exposing this FED insider, trying to claim he's one of us...pfft. He's a stooge for the Federal Reserve, always has been, always will be.
MidNiteR32 9 months ago
don't let the Ron Paul rabiders stop you from voting for the one man who can turn this economy around. if we threw everyone under the bus who backed TARP, we'd have few left.
Herman Cain was elected chairman for the Federal Reserve Bank of KC. He knows the workings of it and wants to mend it, not end it. He has more experience concerning the Fed than Ron Paul, End the Fed, no answer to what will replace it. Congress? Oohhhh buddy, you want them in charge??
barbbtx 9 months ago
@barbbtx "if we threw everyone under the bus who backed TARP, we'd have few left." Which points out just how far down the tubes we've gone, and how corrupt our government has become. Anyone who supports theft to artificially prop up big banks and big business should be kicked to the curb. If that means few are left, so be it. No excuses.

So Herman Cain was for the banker bailouts.... not surprising.
But why are grassroots conservatives loving his big-government ways?

Folks, Herman Cain is a banker! He was the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. America doesn't need anymore bankers to loot it!
purplefetus3 9 months ago 2
If supports banker bailouts and then says "oh, I didn't know they were going to implement them like that." Then, he simply doesn't realize that govt plays no such role. This means he will make the same mistake again.
I believe Pawlenty made a similar mistake with green gas taxes and now regrets it. His mistake is that he doesn't realize the true role of a LIMITED govt.

That said,Another 4yrs of Obama and you'll see armed Conflict break out in this country. The Economy that he has escalated to warp speed will cause that to happen, damage has been done and all by desigen by this Socialist Czar Cabnit he put together.
deltaknight67 9 months ago
@deltaknight67 Polls over the past 8 months have shown things do be very different than you say in terms of RP's chances. Both Rasmussen and CNN polls have shown Ron Paul to clearly have the best chance against Obama in a general election as compared to any other potential contender. So the point is not "mute" as you say. Nor is it moot.

@TNSONSOFLIBERTY You must have missed it on Glenn Beck's radio show where he said he would support auditing the fed. You might want to take your tin foil hat off
31guitar 5 months ago
@31guitar Wow . you must have missed a lot of other things he said about there being no need to audit the fed. it already has enough internal audits etc. etc.. Just do a quick search. Not hard to find at all. He flip flops on this and many things. You might want to open your eyes and unplug your ears.
wolfhybred 4 months ago
@wolfhybred He has said that, and he has said that he doesn't think anything will be found. But he has specified that if a bill came to his desk to audit the fed, he would not oppose it, he just isn't going to take the lead on the issue
31guitar 4 months ago
@31guitar You actually beiieve anything he says after all his flip flops on...the debt ceiling. awliki assasination, the fed. YES he did flip flop ! among other thing. Wonder why he left his time at Aquila out of his resume? Maybe you should look real hard at how that 999 will work out in the details? I have come to the conclusion many of the American voters just love a good flip flopping lier for potus. What are ya gonna do? So he is new to politics.Oh wait he has run for office before too. TARP
wolfhybred 4 months ago
@31guitar By the way I actually pay attention and research all of the candidates. I know exactly what he has said and hasn't said and what he has flipped flopped on. I will never understand those of you who decide to back a candidate so early and when they show their true colors you will still deny the truth when it slaps you in the face. Could you explain that to me?Sorry just have to vent. What is wrong with average voter these days?
wolfhybred 4 months ago
@wolfhybred There is no flip flop on his position on the fed. He has said multiple times he would not be against auditing the fed but he wouldn't take the lead on it because he doesn't think anything will be found. that position has not changed. Now, you either dont know economics or failed math if you think 999 wont work out or will be regressive... plus he hasnt changed his position on TARP even though its not really politically convenient. I dont support TARP by the way
31guitar 4 months ago
@wolfhybred 9-9-9 would be a tax cut for everyone. The poor pay at lowest about 2-3% of personal income tax plus 7.65% of the payroll tax. At absolute lowest, 9% is a decrease from 9.65%. At the highest (10% personal income), its a bigger cut. Getting rid of all those other hidden taxes and lowing corporate taxes, which all get passed onto the consumer in higher prices, the price of goods will drop. More money in your pay and less expensive items makes the national sales tax affordable
31guitar 4 months ago
@31guitar 999 is a trojan horse. The FairTax made it a pre-condition that all other taxes would be removed FIRST.
It didn't make sense to me that Cain, a Fed Reserve insider, would support something that would get rid of the income tax. Temporarily lowering the rates to add another tax is exactly what I would expect from the Fed Reservist.
