Thank you so much. I too have been trying to figure this one out for almost 30 years. A top fave. Your posts have made me a better guitar player and have changed my life! You have impeccable taste and talent. Thank, thank you, thank you!
Thanks for posting this video. I was doing great watching your chord fingering but then I got totally lost at 1.17 minutes just after the chorus with the same chord used at 2.34 minutes. It looks like your fingers are spread across the 2nd, 3rd and 4th fret but I cannot work it out. Could you please tell me which strings you are holding in each fret? Thanks.
@Nunsweepit421 That's just a regular barred B. Barre across the ADGB strings with your pointer finger at the 2nd fret, then barre across the DGB strings with your pinky or ring finger at the 4th fret. I mute the high E string.
@pavotibio I don't know what it's called, but it's A and D strings at the 4th fret, then G string at the second fret. Some kind of F# minor thing with the B and E strings ringing open. You can also cover the bass E string at the second fret with your thumb, but that's not really essential. America used that chord quite a bit.
Hey privettricker - huge thanks for posting this - one of my absolute all-time favourites. Been dying to know how to play this for years. You've made me very happy - thanks again!
@privettricker hey your fretboard and the pickguard are different from mine. i think yours is the Martin special edition/ limited edition. good choice though. and nice playing

@bushna2007 I am only slightly less lucky than that -- it's a D41.

@privettricker My jealousy has only slightly diminished!! LOL. Nice job playing by the way, great song!
