Next time, you should try tying the feather in at the same time you tie in the chenille, that way, you can wind your chenille, tie off, then wind your hackle, tie off, make a head, and finish, and you don't have to go all the way back through the hackle, which is a pain in the ass.
It's actually easier to prepare all of the materials, and tie in all three at once. It's a lot quicker. I've gotten my buggers down to 45 seconds that way.
