  • @RicochetRockNice AMEN! PREACH IT MAN!! The Truth hurts!

  • @RicochetRockNice back in "72 at Proviso East high, i wore shark skins and a yellow top to match and i'm a white guy, you got that scene all wrapped up, It reminds me of a club in chicago that was called Ann's club on Harrison off the IKE, there they were with the big brims, and the cane. awesome time.

  • @RicochetRockNice These wipper snappers are stealing all of the good music and crapping all over it. Look up EMPIRE STATE OF MIND, by Jay-z and alicia keyes and see what untalented little thieves they really are....they stole this song!

  • I love your selection of songs by The Moments. In fact, I love just about every song The Moments sing/sang. However, I have not had any success in finding, on YouTube, their "Where" song, which is on their A Moment With The Moments 1971 LP. If you have that LP, could you please upload it?

  • Great song those were the best years...wish I could turn back the hands of time.

  • They don't make music like this anymore. I'm just glad we still have it to listen to!

  • This song reminds me of my brother Eddie he is gone now but brings back good memories

  • So love this song.........so good.....How I miss New London and how I grew up with music..... the best.... New London was the heart of this music....

  • There will not be another love song with depth as these three guys sang. I met awonderful lady on this song and it made growing up in the 70's seem like a whole another world.

  • damn jay-z!

  • So fortunate to have been growing up when this music came out. Nothing like slow dance music.

  • Dang brings back memories of the old cruising days in San Fernando cruising along in my dropped 85 Nissan...back in the late 80s...

BEEN SINGING THIS SONG FOR A LONG TIME!

    GREAT SONG

  • this song has been stuck in my head for over...a umm...a long time

  • even though i was born in the 90's and i like the music of today i always go back to this music to express how i feel :))

  • Reminds me of the summer of 1970!!! Great song to start off a great decade in music...So unlike the crap of today!

  • sounds like it's from the early 70s.

  • @jasonwheel This version was recorded in late 1968. But this wasn't the first version though. The first one was from a female vocalist named Lezli Valentine, who wrote most of the lyrics of the song. This version, recorded by Billy Brown (and two of the original Moments prior to Ray and Goodman joining) lingered until late 1969 after Ray and Goodman had joined and the song finally hit in early 1970.

  • Those ho no what the 50 and 60 where it was the best of time. time that will never come back but thank God for people that saved them memorys Aman

  • i'm only 29 years old. i think that songs like this have a whole lot of meaning then the music we have today love my oldies but goodies

  • jay-z and alisha keys empire state of mind, didnt kno that song was sampled

  • i thought these where women. dam they are men

  • I had forgotten...

  • I remember this song, bad azz, this is what music is. These guys put out some great tunes. Special Lady, Inside You, Happy Anniversary and She Left Me Standing.

  • Sometimes one of the most disturbing things in music is the dreaded sampling. Heard a truly frightening song today on the radio. It featured the use of Auto-Tune, Sampling, Rapping and Programming on the same song. The sample was from Curtis Mayfield's "Little Child, Running Wild". I'm all for the new generation creating a new genre, but this was a bit too much. But hey, keep on keeping on brothers and sisters. Some kind of new style is bound to come out of this. Fantastic post.

  • ...In New York!!!

  • @crysta2k2

Thanks, I love to hear the history behind great music like this.

    Thank you soul much.

  • (cont.) Then in 1970, Billy Brown became a new member of the group alongside Al Goodman and Johnny Moore. After Moore became a no-show, Harry Ray joined the group. That's when their version became a hit so that lineup promoted it but it was only Brown on this version.

  • This song had a strange history. In 1968, Stang's first artist, Lezli Valentine co-wrote and recorded the original version (though she was never credited) and her version fizzled. There's a version of this song by the Moments (with different members) with Mark Greene leading on that track. (cont.)

  • A #1 hit for The Moments on the Rhythm & Blues charts. It was the 210th #1 R&B song of the Rock Era. It also hit #3 on the Top 40 charts. The Moments would eventually evolve into Ray, Goodman, and Brown.
