ive always thought they should have showed more fast-mo running shots imo.... apparently it looked too much like a retro film, as when syncing sound and picture was such a big deal..so they opted for slo-mo... yet in reality someome running 60-70mph would look really odd, just like a fast-motion shot.
@dwilmer7 Lee Majors said slo-mo was used because fast motion sped up film looked too silly. Slo-mo and sounds gave it more power and enhanced it according to Majors.

I remember once or twice they showed steve running at what would be a normal 60mph pace, from a distance, I think it was in the pilot.. it looked ridiculous I guess that why the makers went slowmo and guitar twang effects!
