We complain because they completely strayed from an amazing book. All they kept was names, they didn't keep anything else. When I heard there was a movie to the book I was all excited to see the competition for the pack leader and see Viv's spunkiness, then I saw this and was disappointed. If no one read the book it would've been ok, but a lot did, so that's why we complain. Movie makers to far to many liberties and completely changed the story line and plot, only keeping the names.

I love how this movie (which by the way the book was amazing and became my favorite modern book ever) is nothing like the Twilight shit. It's actually good! The mystery is unique, the feeling is raw and serene at the same time,and the themes and dialect is modern yet so into tradition.It has so much potential and its so beautiful and elegantly rough at the same time.Both the book and the movie. I don't know why you fuckers keep insulting this.Poor thing,the movie isn't like the book,get over it.

Lugaru--Actually change into wolves and run around on all fours. You cannot become a Lugaru, you must be born one.

Werewolves---They are lycanthropes. They change into a wolf-like creature but run on two legs, not four. You can become a werewolf if you are bitten by one.

One question: Do both parents have to be lugaru for you to be one? Or can you have just one parent as a lugaru to be one?

As for if both parents need to be or not, I'm not entirely sure. I would assume only one parent need be - but then there's no guarantee that the child will be a lugaru. I suppose this was never addressed in the movie (That I remember, at least...) was because most humans would be so afraid of a lugaru that they would never mate with one - meaning all current lugaru are assume to be pureblood. So basically, I don't know XD Sorry

@BlackVoicesOnFilm just a note, it's spelled Loup-garou and Lycanthropes aren't technically werewolves. "Lycans" are humans with a disease that makes them believe they turn into wolves at full moon. With most "Weres" you are born one, or you aren't. Occasionally you can be infected, but you must have their blood in your body, usually by transfusion.

loup garou is just the word for werewolf in another language. They are werewolves, just not the standard Hollywood type. There's many different takes on werewolves other than the get bitten and turn into a big harry man beast on the full moon variety. Just because they aren't that typical Hollywood movie style werewolf doesn't make them not werewolves at all, it's not like that kind of werewolf has a monopoly lycanthropy or something.
