ok I have a question, I'm lookin to purchase a DVD Rom. So I can play my Grand Theft Auto San Andreas game. I currently have a CD Rom. Does it matter what kind of DVD Rom I purchase????
You can leave it in the "master" setting. Even though the hard drive is also a "master" it's connected to a different channel, IDE1, so there won't be any conflict. CD/DVD drives connect to IDE2 in your motherboard. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.
Would you help me, please? My DVD-ROM WON'T play a movie. I am getting the message:
Error PL4014: Playback failed due to an error with the audio subsystem. Your currently installed audio driver may not be fully compatible with DirectX. Please close any DirectSound applications that are using the sound card. If the problem persists, you may need to upgrade or reinstall your sound card driver. Click the Help Online button (bottom button on the left) to find out more information
Thenk you MAN

After carrying out a fresh installment of vista and formatting the hard drive...
Will the CD Drive function, so it will be able to read the Cd where the drivers an utilities are located for installation?
Does the CD Drive require any software to work?
