  • great COVER

  • stack that cake

  • GOD I LOVED THIS SONG :D

  • i should do another youtube channel with tons of stuff from my records-all flea market with surface noise, but they play.

well not all of them loaded with surface noise.

  • your copy is the UK version. want an american mono pressing with plenty of surface noise? i have "Englands Newest Hitmakers" and it is cool.

  • @MichaelHansenFUN I have that lp too and an original 1964 LONDON copy in good clean condition and no surface noise.

  • Great CLIP; a LOT of THOUGHT was put into THIS !!!!!

  • got the stones first LP and others on plastic. Problem with decks became apparent in the 70s and 80s, such utter drunkeness that difficult arose in putting needle onto the record

  • got the stones first LP and others on plastic

  • oh yeah :-)

  • Nice one...thanxxxxx..this is real Stones whom I loved....

  • kids, learn from this!

  • album was never released in the USA, thats a bootleg.. trust me, I bought it back in 1975 for $1.00 at Kmart

  • This is a gr8 version, as is Mel Torme's with Marty Paich Dektette.

I've seen both bands & enjoyed them immensely.

  • Great deck

  • Love It......

  • en mode vinyl

  • Get Your Kicks

    on Route 66.

  • This is not a '60s pressing of this album as it has a boxed DECCA logo, although it IS MONO ; i have an identical vinyl copy i bought in '77.What i'm unsure of is whether there is a stereo vinyl version of this album, although i did have this track on a U.K. Stereo DECCA compilation named 'Rock n Rolling Stones' released in '72 0r 73 i think

  • I was blown away when I first heard this in the 60's, but could never work out the lyrics until I listened to the Chuck berry version. Since discovered the Bobby Troup (spell?) version. What is the NA pronunciation "ROOT" or "ROWET"?

  • There you go! Now that's what I call great music.

  • Stones in mono-rocknroll cut to the bone! Jones and Richard(s) jammin like 2 guitars should! Love the handclaps!

  • i wonder, if they could take the 2 track, regnent stuff and make it STEREO?

even the reproduced stereo of this I cant find.

    have the remastered cd

    STILL LOVE THIS SOUND!!!

  • Easily the best Stones Berry cover.

  • @saguaroboy this was written by Bobby Troupe

  • @ITILII 10-4 based on the Berry version.

  • Thank you Bobby Troup.

  • Crazy. How did I end up here?

Some dude posts a video of a record playing on a Dual turntable. Ancient!

Crazy! Must be one of the best songs ever. First track of first US Stones album.

First time I heard it, over at a friend's house, I just played it over and over and over again. That's how OLD I AM!

  • @CravenMaven ...bah who cares about age anyways? they say you're as old as the woman or dude you feel, so its all good as long as we're all rockin and rollin!

  • Actually the 1st track on the British Decca Records release only. It was track #2 on the London Records version released in 1964 in the US six weeks later. Americans who bought their copies heard "Not Fade Away" first.

    Confusing, ain't it?

  • happy birthday brian jones

  • Great song, and great quality. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the Copyright Nazis stay away from it.

  • Very good qualitiy. Respect, man :)

  • I had the Dual 502 ( I think it was). Great seeing this wonderful old turntable. And Brian-era Stones sound great, too. Thanks.

  • That's a swinging guitar line.

  • My first vid too ;]

  • I wonder if Nat King Cole ever heard this version, and if he liked it. I think both versions are great.

  • 66 in freemasonry - the number of "the great work" (not). Gee ("G") I wonder if masons had anythin to do with popularizin this highway? TV show, 2 songs, remade again and again. Also the number of books in the Bible.

  • YA WHA..?

  • nice! thanks for doing this; very cool.

  • 20th comment! This was uploaded on my 14th birthday.

  • I bought a '70s mono 'boxed' Decca copy of this just like yours as a teenager in 1977 ! A good album with some great tracks & some not so great.Good sound on your vid

  • great song

  • Sounds great for old vinyl!

  • rock and roll indeed!!

  • A very good version and fantastic sound. Thank you so much for sharing. I take it in my favourites.

  • Who played lead on this track?

  • Keith

  • keith did

  • i think i'll ask a band of friends of mine to cover this if they have time

  • Just much richer music than most versions, you said it all, bass, drums rythm guitar lay it all down; tight.

  • Lookin' at your pitch indicator,

    there's something amiss there.

    Great track though ♫

  • oh yea,

great raw brit rock n roll,

my fave but i like 'em all.

bass, drums and rythem guitar lay it down..

and the lead guitar seals the deal..

    oh yea....and mick too!

this song was quite the mover when it came out.

  • los stones, siempre los stones, benditos sean.

  • One of my favorite stones cuts. It's the ONLY version of this song I like. LOL does anyone even remember who Bobby Troup even *was*? He wrote this song.

  • Awesome song!!! Love the Stones!

  • Top-of-the-table Stones rockin' "Route 66"-- on vinyl with a Dual turntable! Am I in Heaven? Epic! Thanks for posting.

  • my god....my owh my...memories indeed.

    Fantastic, what you have done!!

So much pleasure you gave me, hearing all that old songs.

    Swinging here right now:)

Well goes from St. Louie down to Missouri ..

Get your kicks on route 66
