  • THE HARDER I TRY NOT TO CRY

THE MORE I END UP CRYING

    UUUUUUUUUUUUU ;-;

  • GIVE ME BACK MY TEARS

  • SPOILER

next episode should be about river. i mean come on. johnny got his wish but river who for all those years, in her own unique way was shouting to johnny 'please remember our promise !!' didnt, til the end, receive closure.

  • @cookiewaa

    SPOILERS!

But she's dead already. They were on a time limit until Johnny dies to change what he thought happened. And I'm sorry to say not every ending needs to have it happy, this one was bitter sweet I guess?

I reckon the next game will move on to another patient and will continue the story of the two doctors also. That was some nasty looking foreshadowing we saw at the end of this game after all.

  • @topdod its just bitter for me. since it was just memories and only for the convenience of johnny. a time machine wouldve been a better plot device than a memory changer xD

  • @topdod its really sad for both of them actually. because after johnny confessed, everything else didnt really matter for river since the only thing that really mattered for her was if johnny remembered her and their promise or not.

  • @DocZombiePhD Yeah, a movie would be a terrible idea. It would completely ruin the entire thing.

  • This was one of the greatest games of all time. It deserves some damn medals.

This song brings back the memory of watching this scene. It almost made me cry when I watched it

  • Goosebumps... ;~; This part had me crying like a baby...

  • This song gives me shivers and makes me tear up every time.

  • What part of the game does this play at?

  • Comment removed

  • @robotcatcrab

    The emotionalest Part. :)

Maybe you can't hear the song because you're crying too much ;D

  • I haven't played this game yet, but after listening to the soundtrack, I really really want to, because I can't even count how much I cried from just listening to this song alone.

  • I feel so emotional <3

  • this song makes me cry every time i listen to it now. :')

such a powerful and moving game. or interactive experience let's say.

when i originally played it, i literally couldn't stop crying for the last hour straight. and then the finally broke me and i properly wept.

I'm a man. and I'm fucking proud. kudos to you Free bird games, i hope you make many more rich and wonderfully beautiful games in years to come. :D

  • @FacetiousGaming I'm with you buddy. 27 male, wept profusely.

  • The storytelling and narrative techniques used in games are COMPLETELY different from movies, just like movies are COMPLETELY different than books. A lot of people fail to see that. You would lose SO much of what made this game great by taking control away from the player. If this game was made into a movie, it would end up like every other video game movie. It would be a heartless shell of the source material. It's a beautiful story as is, why can't we just agree to that and leave it alone?

  • To everyone saying this should be a movie, you should think twice about that. Would this story have been as powerful if you were watching instead of playing? Would the words have resonated with you as much if they were being read to you instead of you interpreting them the way you would have said them? Would a different art style top the 16-bit style? This game touched me and moved me the way it is. It's a masterpiece. That's like saying someone should make the Mona Lisa into a sculpture.

  • @DocZombiePhD I suppose you're right. Taking this and transforming it into a movie would probably just kill it. It's a shame though.

  • But it isn't. :'(

  • No it's not.

  • awesomely beautiful, i definitely gonna buy the soundtrack tonight..

  • Crying.

  • They should make a movie out of this...

  • should be made into an animated disney movie.... just sayin

  • @trufuknplaya Please not animated. And PLEASE not Disney, for god's sake.

  • @photoallergic i didnt say anything about animated or disney

  • @trufuknplaya You literally said "should be made into an animated disney movie.... just sayin". I don't see how that's saying nothing about animation or Disney.

  • its been 2 months since i played it, and this song still brings me to tears

  • Freaking ninjas, cutting onions right behind me.

  • Truly Amazing Game, or more a story than a game

  • An absolutely tremendous game; what a great experience this was. I don't think I've ever encountered something like this before, something that had such a charming and compelling element of storytelling accompanied by an outstanding music track. I won't be forgetting this experience anytime soon. Cheers to freebirdgames

  • This song is beautiful. You can't be sad when listening it.

  • story of a lifetime!!!

  • Best story and ost of the year definitely.

  • it is not impossible to get all the OST's if you just now how to show the hide ogg music files and convert it to mp3.. hehe

  • @orions143 Just buy the album, its $5 and half the proceeds go to charity.

  • @xenogenx i want to donate if i had to.. but im just poor boy from a poor family.. ^_^ but i already had it without paying.. maybe ill just pray for those autism people...

  • Best song I ever heard, no exaggeration. Fuck this scene though, seriously. I was going to punch the monitor screaming River's name in a sobbing voice drowned by tears. Damn you Laura Shigihara! I want my manliness back!

  • Love this game.

  • This isn't GOTY, but certainly the best indie game.

  • i didn't cry during the whole game until this whole scene

  • Lets Crying Together ToT

  • GOTY 2011!

  • @measurino I fully agree that this was GotY 2011. I was disappointed in most games this year. So many 2011 releases were sequels which had perfectly good game design, but lacked the heart and the incredible storytelling of To The Moon. This game had a plot that completely floored me, and I've never really experienced anything quite like it until now. Years down the line, this will be one of the few games of this generation that sticks in my mind.

  • Damnit, its 3:30AM and I can't stop replaying this song.

  • one thing that i loved about this games is that later a realized that river wasnt the one with the problem! it was jonhy she made all those origami rabit to make him remember that one important moment the real reason why he loved river in the first place! :'(

  • I literally haven't gone a day without thinking about this game since I've played it. The story is just so incredibly touching even if the premise was extremely simple. It's just the life of a man. And then add to that all that River had to go through and in the end she was never truly understood. The tears man, so many tears!

  • Watch: change the phrase "the moon" to heaven. you also might wanna watch the ending in that sense too especially in the scene where Johnny dies as "the moon" comes into view.

When this world is no more..

"the moon"(heaven) is all we'll see

I'll ask you to fly away with me...

Till the stars all fall down,

    they empty from the sky

    but I don't mind

    If you're with me

    then everything's allright.

  • This game was RUBBISH! It didn't have a single emotional moment and didn't make me feel anything. I'm too hard for that BULLSHIT! I mean none of it even made sense - I'm a tough guy and this cheesy ass custard didn't get the better of me ...

... now re-read the above and change it to the complete opposite. That's what I really meant.

Yes, this game was an emotional sucker punch. Even the picture in the video above is making me cry.

Don't tell nobody. My street cred will be raped.

  • Such an underrated game. To me this game was an experience that actually changed my life

  • Ok. I don't know anything about this game but listening to this song makes me want to play it. Give me info peeps!

    What is it about?

    Where can i get it?

    Is it expensive?

    Personal rating and opinion?

    Thank you! ^_^

  • @Smurfy281 These may be answered for ya, but I'll just say it anyways.

    Freebird Games Dot Com. :D

    It's about 12 bucks I believe?

    It's a great game.

And you can find out the rest by playing it.

  • @victorcachat: it's made in RPGMaker, so I don't think that that's actually possible.

  • @tvwatchingperson Actually, it CAN be possible. Search "RPG JS". If Reives converted the game to Javascript, he could port it to smartphones, and his website. Pretty neat. :D Right now, he's trying to get the game on Steam.

  • @FancyjakeOnline Wow, really? Cool! I heard about him trying to get the game on steam; they'd be fools not to.

  • @tvwatchingperson WOW you serious? I thought it looked like a heavily modified version of rpgmaker, but you confirmed it! Now im gonna start making something for valentines day for the girl that has my heart :)

  • This game was amazing.

  • @SuperCakeMan12

    Correction:

    This game IS amazing.

  • @SuperCakeMan12 *is.

One does not simply turn off the game and forget it's lessons.

  • @xoxGeekGirlxox its*

    :)

  • @balakadut Touche, good sir.

  • Bestest story ever..until next instalment !

(Please, do port to Ipad/smartphones + Itunes for the music, you would make so much money !).

  • T_________T

  • It was a beautyfull game's....so much emotions.......it's just beautifull

  • Very powerful song to an equally powerful game. This can't even be considered a game, its more like art. After completing To the Moon i literally just took a 2 hour walk just to think.

  • @xenogenx the best games are always going to be artworks :)

  • This song ;-;

  • It's my favorite piece next to 'Having Lived'.
