There is grass under there and it grows just fine come spring into summer. I will be posting new video in a few days. This video is from last winter. We are having some cold air in Colorado right now and I just started the process on the 1st of December. I should be skating in a week.

what did you make the net out of?

The wood is 'landscaping wood' I bought at Lowes and the net was given to me. I use the net for soccer in the summer. It is worth the time and money to build something heavy for the beating it takes from the pucks. You don't get the 'ping' when you hit the post but it doesn't move at all.

what did you use for a liner?

I used 6 mil poly liner. It cost $100 a roll for 100' It is well worth it. You can buy it at Costco or Lowes.
