The wood is 'landscaping wood' I bought at Lowes and the net was given to me. I use the net for soccer in the summer. It is worth the time and money to build something heavy for the beating it takes from the pucks. You don't get the 'ping' when you hit the post but it doesn't move at all.

I used 6 mil poly liner. It cost $100 a roll for 100' It is well worth it. You can buy it at Costco or Lowes.
