  • I see this car is for sale at the moment on AMCS for 525k

  • im a holden man myself but still love these old aussie muscle cars

  • THAT SUCKER IS RUNNING A BIG STICK.....its sounds like a solid lifter engine to me, though my own Clevelands ran big lift high duration Sig Erson cams using hydraulics (anti pump up type)... they were good for regular 6000 and a bit more..and the good thing was, if they shit themselves they just bent and replacement was a breeze..solids are really only worth it for contant hgh revs.(?) Tome, at 60yo, on the street in a classic I think they are out of place these days..just my ho.

  • Hi.

Phase 3 GTHO's ran factory solid cams, 2 were available. Specs were inlet 40-80, exhaust 84-36, 0.495 lift or the Bathurst cam had 0.525 lift with 25 thou clearance hot.

Info is from the XY GTHO Suppliment booklet before people jump on "thats not right" etc.

A bit of useless info, apparently some teams would run about 15 thou clearance to increase lift and duration.

  • @Mikec0087 sorry champ..

I never saw Phase 3 written on the page, I thought it was a basic HO with globes..so yeah its soundiing right..and its the best sound on Earth...

The only registered Phase 3 I saw and heard was a True Blue owned by a Italian bloke who rented the home next to me in Rye for Christmas in about 1977 >the sound of that car idling up the steep 40 m driveway is something I'll never forget..!! a sound that o cost me a fortune in fast Fords, if only I just bought a real one

  • That was a really cool day.

I have some other video I took and will post soon. There was that Frosted Pewter Phase 3, a Wild Violet Phase 3 and a very quick XY ute there.

    Mike :)

  • @Prenty52 buy an african fairmont, same shit

  • @svlion1977 thanks champ but I have owned cars like one a LONG time ago, a lifetime ago..but we ran hard and fast, like there was no tomorrow and we spent whatever we had to...Healey Road, Dandenong and other heads up street stuff around Melbourne...loved it.

  • pohhhh silver and orange with lockers anf tripple crown shafts and saas racing harnass

  • i always thought it was calld silver fox? i aint a ford man but they r very nice cars got a mate building one in raw orange!! and im building an SLR 5000 we gonna cruise together gonna look great two good old classics

  • The colour is Silver Fox. Back when it was new, it got called the Silver Ghost or Grey Ghost in the local town.

I last saw it at the final Brisbane Motor Show a couple of years ago. Not sure where it is now, I guess still here in Brisbane.

  • ahhk sweet! hope its being looked after

  • The coloue is Frosted Pewter, not Silver Fox :)

  • nice very nice go the old school ford muscle

  • had my first ride in an xygt in my teens, bloody really great car, effortless cruiser and had a feel and sound to it like no other to this day. and a very nice example there.

  • Nice car, love to go for a cruise lol.

  • mate thats sick and i'm digging the what looks like dark green and black one in the shed there too ps. SMOKE EM UP lol

  • Sick mate... this is the REAL DEAL... Best Falcon eva made although i personally lyk the black and gold colour.

  • but even though its a replica its still worth alot of money a top a1 gtho replica you looking at 60 to $80,000 i remember seeing this article on a ford magazine it should be in there on the 2nd last page some guy in a ford workshop builds them i mean the replica are ok but there is nothing like an original gtho.

  • This car is not a replica. It was restored in Melbourne and the current owner lives here in Brisbane. Read the first posts, people who know this car and the owner know its history back to a Victorian town called Robinvale.

  • Nice car mate. I have a replica that looks similar to your ride. I didnt have the cash for a real one unfortunatly. hope to have real one like yours one day. cheers.

  • Based on what?

Do you know the current owner personally. No.

Have you seen the letter from Ford Australia which verifies this as a 1971 GTHO Falcon. No.

Have you sat in this car? No.

Do you know the history of this car from when delivered in 1971 til now? No.

Replicas are not valued at $750,000, which this car is by Shannons Insurance.

Have you seen the compliance plate which says G.T.H.O. again verified by Ford Austrlia? No

I have $1,000 if you can prove it a relica.

  • You tell him bro

  • this car is not a replica, came from melbourne and seen it get restored a while ago,a beautiful rare frosted pewter gtho 1 of five made this color.

  • dude that's an replica but still is good i like 69 mustang mach 1s better + skylines

  • Ummm...replica? I certainly hope your note refering to this GTHO. It is real, 1 of about 161 left.

  • the falcon is a simple build aussie car & is very reliable. i have not had any issues with mine, neither has anyone else (apart from the small shit here n there over the years which everyone experiences). I got mates who drive little silvias, skylines and other nissans... the amount of money they pour in for modifications and repairs is ridiculous. plus most are 2 seater... different comparison. I rather a large car for comfort thats good to drive. They need kitted up cars to help reel women in.

  • 67673 fuk wit go bak to ya holdens or turbo's 4cys u know nuthin bout these brutal beast!

  • THIS F*CK STICK AGAIN! 6767665bullshit what ever ur name u just seem to love stirring shit up thorugh australian car lovers! if u dont like these cars no one can really give a shit why dont u search all the american and overseas built cars and stop pissing people off with the actuall real australian cars that australian people have pride in!

  • real cars are made with spanners not chopsticks you tool.

  • lol ill tell you what, ive gotta give it to this 676756 kid, hes made me laugh something serious, hes contraditing himself something bad and just digging a bigger hole, now hes saying the hoey pulls the ladies and a skyline is better?ah jeeze.i will agree with him in one point though, they dont interest the ladies,THEY INTEREST THE WHOLE OF AUSTRALIA you fuckin idiot.man this kid is a wannabe.

with the price of a hoey these days you can buy a lambo and a ferrari and still have change left over.

  • If thats the case, whats a Porsche dealer doing trying to sell 4 Porsches to one supposedly lowly Falcon? I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and somthings only worth whats others are willing to pay but Im not gonna return back to my high school years and make a big stink over trivial issues like this.

  • Now honestly. If you have to get a car to attract women, then its time to do a self check.

  • 67675656565655656565.Your comments speak for themselves and are very hypocritcal. 1st you say that, and I quote "they buy them 4 performance, handling and sheer thrill of driving 1" further on you say "attract allot more pussy than a crappy old falcon would." So which argument are you trying to defend ? I certainly dont drive & own my 'GT' as a 'Pussy' magnet. I wouldnt expect you to understand the pleasure of owning and driving one either. Stay out of this forum and go buy the wheels magazine.

  • lambos and Ferraris and overpriced toys. The early ones I could see. However the new ones are made of materials that cave in when in contact with a butterfly. The women that are attracted to these over priced toys are just as plastic as they are. The women that will stick by ya when things get rough are the ones that like FALCONS!

  • This dickhead 676756 etc just goes around, looking and commenting on all the GT Falcon videos, just to stir up shit. In reality, he is just a little boy, who is deprived of a decent car, who drives a skyline that his mummy bought him, while fantasising over the true Ford muscle. Or maybe he was blown off at a set of traffic lights by a GT, or was only offered peanuts, for a trade-in on his mummy's skyline lol...Get over yourself DICKHEAD! Jealousy is a curse !!!

  • "Skyline's" That's right and no c**t with half a brain would be caught dead in one xcept of course you and your mates..

  • Hey 67673444657578...I work as a profiler with the AFP. Let me guess...you drive a 4 cylinder fully sick package, with a fully sick sub-woofer that vibrates your brain to a point where you think it's cool to wear Fubu tracksuits...You also refer to the GT as a car that dosn't attract pussy...HA-HA you just admitted that you have an issue with how tiny your cock is because you need a fucking car to attract pussy.

Dream on WANKER! Maybe you should sell your 4 cylinder and get a penis enlargment.

  • @chapmanhamilton if your in the AFP you should trace him he reckons he used to steal gt's

  • Lambo ? You would make a comment like that !

Lambo drivers drive their cars so other appreciate them and their shiny penis extension.

Dont even compare the two. The history behind the GTHO muscle car (australias best ever) will always leave the Lambo in its shadow. Morons like you belong glued to the tv watching TOP GEAR and wanking over overpriced fibreglass toys with stats that only interest poofters in suits. Get a grip and drive a car that you can drive not a car that drives you tosser.

  • I'm a dedicated Holden dood, but I always had a real soft spot for the GT Falcons. I can still remember as a young fella in Adelaide seeing these monsters and wishing I could take one for a spin around the block.

  • U would have to be drugs to rather 2 choose a hoey over a lambo. All phase 3's were was bad handling, heavy steering, easily rusting, dreadful clutches and fuel consumption, also there engines werent as strong as 350 chevs which could rev alot harder without blowing up and ho's r slow by todays standards. At the time amercian muscle was alot faster i.e. dodge daytona and buick gs. On top of that they got beaten by 6 cylinder torana at bathurst. Which you cant be anymore humilating than that.

  • That is absolutely beautifull, never let go of that car

  • nah your just some faggot who wishes they knew what they were talking about, i grew up round these cars you fuckin gronk, i bet you've never even been for a cruise in a genuine one. and there not 400,000 there tippin 1 mil now, shows how much you know. its called supply and demand, the harder something is to get the more you have to pay, common sense, but obviously you wouldn't know, you just cry poor and get jealous of somebody's because your a nobody.

  • payin 1 mill 4 a phase 3 is like payin 50 grand 4 a datsun 120y. There shit and i m not missin out on much. BTW i hope someone steals your gt and burns it just 2 see you cry. Oh yer your the fukin gronk u piece of shit who knows nothing bout cars. Besides if you tell some1 u own a gt or a lamborghini i guarantee u they d b more impressed with the lambo. Not some shity and dangerous falcon. Who mostly bogans owned. I gurantee they will b worth fuk all in years 2 come cause gen y wont give a shit.

  • lol hahahahahahahaha so now its some shitty falcon? i thought you wanted one your whole life? but now your putting shit on them? hahahahahah true fan you are, you wouldn't know the first thing about a hoey, id take a phase 3 over a lambo any day, so would any REAL enthusiest. i win.. game set match faggot. ladies and gentlemen i present to you a fuckin contradictory idiot. take a bow cocksucker.

  • fuk u and i no the first thing bout a hoey there shit cocksucker. Oh and btw i m not contradicting myself because i dont want 1 now since i ve found out they were nothing but over priced pieces of shit. Just like every other ford out there. U must be on drugs to take a hoey over a lambo u just cant compare em. Game sett match motherfucker.

  • these cars were built for average joes? you couldn't be more wrong. these were released for $5150 brand new, an average house was not too far out of this price range back in 71 so these cars were luxuries that only people that could afford to throw abit of money round would buy, so its pretty much equilevent to todays standards, $400 000 for an average unit or a brand new ferrari?. prices arn't driven by greed, there driven by baby boomers and the fact that theres close to none of the 300 left.

  • they werent the equiviant of 400 grand now you dickhead more like 50 or 60 grand. Oh and as for house prices today they are rip offs so that doesnt even count.

  • Just because YOU don't own one doesn't mean that everyone who does is greedy or out to make a dollar.

Yes I do own one, it wasn't cheap but I certainly didn't pay a million dollars for it nor do I think it's worth anywhere near that ammount. But even if it was, what's it to you? I worked hard to get it and i'm sure a lot of other people worked hard to get thier cars to. Such a spiteful and selfish attitude you have towards others. Iv'e never seen such a pathetic attemp at self pitty.

  • these cars were originally built 4 average joes who couldnt afford 2 buy a race car at bathurst or ferrari. but could afford these which were closet thing to a race. Its a tragedy that these cars r out of reach of the average enthuasit who can no longer afford these cars now. The prices r all driven by pure greed. I hope one day these greedy bastards lose all there money on these cars. Cause they deserve it.

  • Thanks and yes i m i do love fords especially gt's. But it just makes my blood boil that i ll never be able to buy one in my lifetime (unless i win the lottery)considering i ve wanted a gt since i was 10. Heard that many stories about parents friends who owned gt s and how fun they were to drive back in the good old days.

  • I bet they were fun! My dad said that his first car was an XW and that he wished he still had it! If only everybody knew back then what they know now! I know where an original XY GTHO is,and i wanna get it for dad, but its a complete mess! It hasnt been driven for at least 20 years :( And thats sad!

  • Give the poor guy a break. Have a look at his profile. He's got skipping as one of his favorite videos. He wouldn't know a good car if he saw one. Skipping on the other hand well that's where this guy really shines:)

  • Mate whatever make of car you are into respect it for what it is, why call it a bucket of shit? I'd like to here your reasons.

  • still sound as tough as it did in robinvale p.s lived around the corner, and never had a licence when it was sold otherwise mate it would still be in robinvale today LB AND SONS

  • this car does have a very good reputation, the car is origanly from my home town of ROBINVALE VIC,and in its days here was one of the best xy's around!! i talk to the ORIGINAL owner of the car everyday! this car got the name the SILVER GHOST as it was very fast, hence the colour (silver) so thats how it got its name.

  • ISnt this on Aussie muscle cars for A mill'?

  • its Frosted Pewter not Silver Ghost... only 5 PH3's in that colour.. its AWESOME!! nice video man.. the rumble at idle is just magic!

  • Yep , I know the colour. Silver Ghost is the name the car got called back in the 70's. It had quite a reputation according to the current owner.

  • Very nice. I'd like to see all three lined up.
