  • Now this is a very beautiful woman and a song like this to match.

  • how 'bout Mariah Carey do a cover of all of Shanice's songs. :)) im pretty sure that would change Shanice's life forever. hahaha!

  • @zeiykz For MC to do Shanice's songs she FIRST needs to have a solid voice. MC's weak voice CANNOT take on Shanice's songs and whatever you are implying it is a none factor because Shanice life is right where she wants it to be! The LAUGH is on you!

  • Bought this on 7 inch single yesterday for 49p and love it, also got Bet She's Got A Boyfriend on 7 inch to.

  • I used to listen to this every night before I fell asleep when I was in Electronics School in San Diego CA back in 1988. Time has flown...I was 19 then I will be 43 next month! Wow time flies!

  • I used to listen to this every night before I fell asleep when I was in Electronics School in San Diego CA back in 1988. Time has flown...I was 19 then I will be 43 next month! Wow time flies!

  • I used to listen to this every night in Basic Electronics and Electricity School in San Diego CA back in 1988...Wow time sure has flown...

  • I used to listen to this every night in Basic Electronics and Electricity School in San Diego CA back in 1988...Wow time sure has flown!

  • I always crank up the volume at the end during the fade because the song is so beautiful. And I can't imagine anyone else but Shanice singing it.

  • i been trying to find this song for YEARS!!! this song is so..... moving, AND I FOUND IT tonight daaam thank you. I will be putting this in my romantic slow jam complilation:) mission accomplised again

  • @BOLO2220 I have too. I loved this song back then and still do. I searched and searched and was finally able to find it on here. It wasn't a big hit for her and I'm not sure why because she killed it.

  • Wow!!! This take me way back..... I LOVE THE WAY YOU LOVE ME.....YEEEEHA:)

  • Man, this takes me back to elementary school.

  • i use to hear this song back in college 1988 at EWC and i have been trying to find it for 23 years and tonite i did.

  • Sang Gir!!!!!!

  • 14 years old and killin' it. NONE of these chicks today can see Shanice!

  • my ol'skool young jam!!

  • As part of her first musical project, this was NOT a big single for her and that's a tragedy in itself. How can a 14 year old sing a number with this kind of conviction without bringing a tear to your eye? She sang like she had been hurt or even totally overjoyed by love. She RAN this number like WHOA.

  • This was a Klassic 80's jam from Shanice, the girl really had skills, wish she was still in the game.

  • Shanice is wonderful!!!

  • omg. this was my jam. <3

  • haven't heard this song in over 22 years. listening to this song make me wish i would have kept this album. still believe she was only about 13 when she recorded this song.

  • pure talent!!!

  • R & B was at its best during the 80's I wish the styles in music could have lasted longer.

  • all i can say is after all these years...sannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng shanice!!!!

  • this video came out in 1987?? thats the year i was born, and love this song...

  • My nephew was only three years old when he began loving R & B. He is now 23 years old and counting.

  • they don't make song like this anymore

  • I was 17 years old when this song came out and I loved it then and I love it now.

  • Hey David, long time haven't heard from you. Well as I told you before, you have a great taste in music.

  • @MrDavidbobo25, this song came out in 1987 when Shanice was just 14 years old.

  • actually it was released as the albums third single in 1988

  • @iriear - Wow,strange I never heard it before, given that am a huge fan of hers

  • @coolsocks36 I'm happy that you now discovered it. Coincidentally it's from her debut album back in 87 titled 'Discovery.' There are some other great songs like the Jazzy/soulful ballad 'Just A Game,' and the melancholic, 'Do I Know You.' You can check these out if you haven't already, but at all times just enjoy the vibes. I hope you are looking forward to her new album soon.

  • @iriear . I have and still listen to Discovery from time to time. It was and still is a fantastic project. All those mentioned, I enjoy them thoroughly.

  • @coolsocks36 It was on her 1st album and she got down didn't she?

  • still love this!! good ol' Shanice from back in the day :]

  • I havent heard this song since ever I still love it and Shanice my favorite R&B singer

  • I love this song. This when music meant something Unlike today's music which is completely HORRIBLE

  • lol at completely horrible. u sound like simon cowell. but the 80's were really good for r&b. really really good

  • Thank you for the Simon Cowell reference. I like 80s music to as well as early 90s music

  • me and shanice broke up then she married that bastard flex armstrong

  • ....Okay, I'll bite.

    "For realz?!"

  • Blast from the past!! I love the way you love me......must be nice when you can say and relate to this song.....

  • This song is SICK! And what's crazy is I think she can almost hit every chest note 'TODAY'. So Shanice... how about it??? LOL

  • flex is a lucky man

  • Shanice hit that note at 2mins and 37 seconds

  • the BEST......

  • This is one of my favorite songs by her, I dedicated this song to my bf, because it reflects how I feel about him.

  • Oh yes, this one is just fabulous, hard to believe that at the time, that these were the vocals of a teenager, who has grown up to be as beautiful as she sings, one of my favorites from her, 80's R&B at its finest.

  • I have always loved this track... last song on the album I believe?

    14 years old... surreal...

  • just gorgeous, lele from the singing group swv, said shanice's voice is the reason that she wanted too sing!!!!

  • I had this casette tape when I was little. I know every song on this album word from word and this was my favorite song. Thanks for posting..haven't heard this in many years!

  • This was a song that made me a fan.

  • I remembered when Barry White introduced you on Soul Train. At the time I heard what he heard and wondered if it was golden. Well, now I know. You have a special gift.....keep it up.

  • I rember listening to this song at 5 years old.

  • I was 10 years old in the 5th grade when this came out in 1987. Power 99FM used to play this in the quiet storm.

  • the song was the joint and I am a 70's baby and 80's child and I love all these old R&B and the pop joints we group up on too!

  • I'm also a 70s baby and an 80s child, and I love the 70s, 80s, and 90s music because I grew up on them in the late 70s, 80s and 90s. I feel you on that one. I don't like today's music, and female artists of today can't sing worth shit except Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson. Back in the day, almost EVERY female singer can sing like Shanice, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Me'lisa Morgan, Karyn White, Stephanie Mills, Patti Labelle, Barbra Streisand, etc.

  • Criminally underrated song. This was my **** in ninth grade.

  • What year did this song came out?

  • This was done in 1987 when she was 14 years old, but I think recorded when she was 13.

    Thanks for enjoying.

  • I wished that Shanice would come back with a new CD.

  • she said she's in the studio recording one now

  • One of my favorite songs...of ALL time. Gorgeous melody, catchy, with a voice of an angel only God could have given. Love this voice! She's up there with Whitney.

  • My favorite Shanice song! Still makes me cry after all these yrs...wow

  • Wow.........does this bring back memories. I must've been around 19 when this came out.

    :-)

  • im socked that all 4 singles from her album dident chart that well cause both tiffany and debbie gibson were around her age at the time topping the charts its a shame because she is such a good singer espically when she was only 14

  • i was like 2nd grade when this joint came out the good ole dayz lol

  • Man!I remember this song! I was in the 9th gr.dang..thata long time ago.I used to be trying to sing this, especially when hit thst note at towards the end of the song, lol...ahhh@ the memories!

  • Shanice was around 14 or 15 years old.

  • Shanice was born May 14, 1973 so she was 14yo when the 'Discovery' album was released in '87, but when she actually recorded the album is the question. Record shows that her first hit off the album charted in August '87. This particular song charted in March '88. One can assume that it took Shanice around 2 months to do the album, but we all know albums may release months after it's recorded and single can take weeks to get a final position on chart so it's fair to say she was around 13/14yo.

  • early 90's whoo baby, gotta love it

  • Sorry love, this was done in 1987 when Shanice was around 13yo. But as you said, gotta love it.

  • This song evokes some good memories for me.

  • Isn't it amazing how you can sing a good song word for word, even though you haven't heard that song in over 15 years?

  • i love this song!!!!but they are the same pictures over and over and over...

  • and for always my LLLLLOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I believe she is Barry White's niece. Someone correct me if I am wrong... :-)

  • MY REAL NAME IS SHANICE!

  • Is the greatest hits CD that Shanice put out still available?

  • Yes. In the US you can check out cduniverse and in the UK you can do so at hmv.

  • I was in the eighth grade when this song hit, if i didn't know love then, boy do I know it now...

  • Can someone please upload the video for this song if there is one.

  • really luv dis song

  • This is the best song by Shanice. This album made me love her. I also love the song "DO I KNOW YOU" I wish someone had that on Youtube as well.

  • Well both Mariah and Shanice are set to release albums 2008, they are presently my 2 favourite whistlers also. I am sure that Mariah will deliver on that, but Shanice as before only whistle on 2 or 3 tracks! Come on Shanice your high notes are what people fancy, so you need to use it more. It's not fair to have 13 songs on an album and only whistle on 3 that's like a SIN in my view!

  • Seetdeh, Whistle or no whistle Shanice is still tha bomb. Maybe mariah whistle a lot to cover her weak chest voice. Shanice is all the way, and I just listened her teavk 'Inside' 2007 and that tells me she doesn't have to whistle to sound good.

  • I at no time said Shanice has to whistle to sound good, all I've pointed to is that she doesn't whistle as much as Mariah, so please read before you go attacking.

  • Actually, Mariah has a very very strong chest voice- she has 5-6 octaves and is one of the greatest singers of all time.

shanice is also very talented; i hope her new album does well.

  • stupid! comment, on octaves!

your just lost in this generation..Shanice been around longer an added plus to her talent.

octaves ain't all that, she can give out a meaner blow, and she acts like a lady..an even added bonus. sleaze doesn't sell her album. her pure raw talent needs no added tricks there. Mariah, can sing but she acts like a hoe. in the beginning she was talent, now shes sleazy.

here come the hate mail, oh well truth hurts.

    realize the difference.

  • Gingerjenn38,

No hate mail. You are telling the truth. I loved old Mariah Carey, not this video hoe that's out now.

  • That note at 3:16 was the bomb!

Heck, she's on fire when she sings! (metaphorically speaking)

  • Yah it's a Bb5. Amazing. She belts out a C6 on the same album in 'Spend Some Time With Me'!

  • And All That At The Tender Age Of Thirteen!!! Now Tell Me Who Deserves To Be Tha Number 1 Female Vocalist?

  • Still think Mariah deserves it more :P Its not just about the vocals, you can't build a career on that alone any more and Mariah is one of the few artists from the 80's and early nineties that has noticed that. Shanice is a great singer but, lets face it, her songs suck at the moment.

  • I agree with u 2 a point - True Shanice has the voice still, but Mariah has the skill of penning songs that appeal to ur emotions. Well unlike Mariah who was lucky to have control of her writings from the start, Shanice was controlled. Now that she is free let's see if she will for once do an album that really show skills and that will speak to emotions like Mariah. I really thought Shanice last album wud do that, but she missed the Mark again.

  • really luv dis song

  • I fell in love with this song at first listen. I'm proud to be a musician/composer/songwriter hearing this... Great words and music is what it's all about!

  • I love this song. This came out when I was 10 years old in 1987. Power 99FM used to play this song during quiet storm.

  • thank you so much I last heard this song 20 years ago and thought I would never hear it again.

  • This was my s*** in ninth grade. I used to "slowdrag" to this! Greatly underrated R&B song. Thanks for posting this!

  • I have her very first album, the one with her in the lether jacket and she's holding her hair.. that was a great album. I still bump it to this day....lol

  • me to.she never got the props she deserved.shew falls in the catagory with johhny and stacy.she was so young.hell she still is.but now everyone is got beonsitist.this is truth

  • I forgot about this cut. I'm over here snapping my fingers, reminiscing

  • would you happen to have shanice's live performance of I'm crying at the apollo theatre...

    i love her voice

  • it was posted on here but i cant to find it

  • the original song was on the radio like crazy when i was about 3 or 4!!!

  • I don't think so. If it did...then great!!!

  • This song is definitely one of my favorites of Shanice's. Did it ever get a music video?

  • Great talent, strong vocals.

  • Oh my God, what a voice...Shanice sounds as if she was gonna tear down the studio - Whoever was loving Shanice then, was doing an awesome job (at fourteen it has to be her mom). Shanice is da best!!!

  • I truly believe great singers/vocalists are bourn and not made nor trained, Shanice Wilson is right up there with the Greats!!!
