I don't care about gay marriage or the carbon tax, but Bobs anti free trade, anti supermarket duopoly policies are good ideas. No free trade means more Aussie jobs/less outsourcing and a much better environment for Aussie workers to bargain in with less fear of their job being out sourced or not being there in the first place. The end of the supermarket duopoly will mean consumers, farmers and small business getting a better deal, and the money spent will stay in our economy. Good policies Bob.
@Spentastic Actually.. raising trade barriers will destroy export opportunities for Australians and we will lose export jobs. It will lower opportunities for companies to compete outside of the small Australian markets. The jobs that are being supposedly "stolen" are also low skilled jobs, free trade is helping Australia achieve an Economy of Scale, in which all our jobs are now being moved to high-skilled, high productive areas. Taking this away would be a complete U-turn and wages would drop.
