Daaaminic's, comment made me realize what a contrived bit of subliminal advertising that was. Between 0:13 and 0:15 they brighten the lights on the lady behind. Next, the lady at is working it and next the femme fatale kisses it. This is the message that they want to project to a Stella Artois customer. If it's successfully recieved, the buyer will associate Stellas Artois with sex and sexy women.

In spite of its base intentions, the ad still looks stylish. Is the same true of European cinema?

This is a rare example of a commercial that's better as a 30 second edit. The 60 second version doesn't add anything and just goes on for too long.

@darthsco - I haven't seen the 60 sec version, so maybe you can tell me why the women kisses the bottle, then sends it back to the dude. If you listen, she asks for a Stella at the beginning, so I'm wondering, why does she send it back to he guy?  I'm assuming in the longer version, she finally has a bottle brought to her, so she returns the favor repaying the guy's nice offer, when the second guy decides to send his ship in to knab the bottle. Am I right or wrong? I can't figure out this comm

Unfortunately, the longer version still doesn't answer your question. I think the idea is that, even though she did want a Stella, she decided to thank this guy with a kiss on the bottle he sent her. Odd, yeah, but to me it's a trivial detail lost in the brilliance of this commercial's acting & editing.

It looks like the town Manche, France

I'm not sure but the buildings look very clean, scrubbed by the sea air possibly, and the bearded guy if it's not a backdrop has a body of water behind him.....

Also the town is also unusually bright also suggesting a costal town....and the buildings fit the style in Manche....

Although I could totally be wrong...Europe is a big place....The Licence plate is French...

I'd like the commercial explained too! This is my analysis: The girl wants a beer, guyA orders one for her and she accepts it by boat. She then kisses it and sends it out to guyB which we don't know. guyB intercepts with a pirate ship. guyA is like wtf and the girl smiles meaning she meant to send it to guyB. My bf says she was sending it back to guyA which is wrong because she wanted a beer, why would she kiss it and send it back without drinking it? My qualm is the need for the pirate.

my analysis: the girl wants a beer, guy A gets a beer for himself but gives it to her instead by napkin boat. she is sweetly greatful for the gesture but I guess wants a beer of her own, so instead of taking his she kisses it and sends it back (as 'thanks, but I can't accept...' I guess). However, guy B intercepts the beer. guy A is like wtf. guy B smiles and toasts the girl and the girl smiles either because the situation is funny or she's now interested in guy b because he's a 'badass'.

I think you've nailed it! We could also consider the fact that perhaps the girl just wanted some of the beer. So when guy A sent his to her, she poured herself only 3/4 of a glass' worth or whatever and sent the rest back. But guy B, being the too-cool-for-school badass he is, intercepted the beer, shot her a you-know-I'm-the-man-don't-you look, and she of course responded with attraction (as damsels in distress will).
