This song was actually a preview of UYI. Farm Aid IV was in 1989 not 1985 like someone posted. We all expected great things from GnR but they just slowly went downhill as time went on. Shame - especially as it pretty much marked the beginning of the end for the whole of the original lineup after they fired Steve... even more so when you compare this to the legendary Ritz gig they did two years earlier for MTV and you can almost smell the chemistry they had as a unit.

yeah steven does the drums to civil war on UYI 2 and it had to be edited from 60 takes or something. his timing is way way off on this its really really slow i dunno if it was supposed to be like that, his drumming is all over the place he was normally a very solid drummer and kept a really good rhythm. you can see slash and duff are over in front of the drum kit the whole song trying to help him keep time!! poor steven

I have been reading Slash the book and it said Steve was fuck up in this video. This was the last show he ever did with them. If you look in the start of the video you can see him falling on the ramp of the drum stand.

This was actually the first time they ever played Civil War live. Sadly for Steven it was the first and the last one.
It mark's the end of the old Guns from the 80´s and the beginning of the new Guns from the 90´s.
It was history in the making.

but they kicked him out cause he was so into drugs that he kept missing sessions.

I know that something like that happened, but aren't you confused with the Steven's timing issue on Civil War? cause I read in interview to Axl that Steven couldn't keep the timing during the recording of his drum parts for the Illusion albums during the recording sessions, he even said that the rest of the band would be standing watching him and would yell at him "Steven you're fucked up".

yeah steven does the drums to civil war on UYI 2 and it had to be edited from 60 takes or something. his timing is way way off on this its really really slow i dunno if it was supposed to be like that, his drumming is all over the place he was normally a very solid drummer and kept a really good rhythm. you can see slash and duff are over in front of the drum kit the whole song trying to help him keep time!! poor steven
