  • anyone ever have to change out there solenoid and starter. i have an 87 2.5 fi tbi. my car wont start but all the lights work and the battery is only a year old, i don't get a click noise when i turn the key. any idea on how to check if it's a bad starter?

  • I think we need to go back to those long sweeping speedometers...GACK!

The Eurosport's digital RPM gauge was a nice touch however.

  • So how do you like this car, How fast have you got it with the stock motor. Have you do anything to it in 2 years?

  • @Gorikon These cars are my favorite. So far the only thing that broke since making this video was the heater core and the rear window.

  • Definately like this video. Glad to see some people care about these older cars. Too bad there aren't more.

  • AM radio? say WUT?!

  • she must have been garaged often

  • I have a 87 CHeverolet Celebrity but it only has 20,243 miles! but it's not for sale or anything lol. mine dosen't have as radio. it didn't come with one

  • @snowbunni84 That's a nice find! Good luck with it.

  • nice! love these old celebrities and still running good! saw the jersey inspection sticker! jersey represent lol

  • We had an 85 and it ran good!

    Miss it sometimes

  • nice car

  • damn I didn't General Motors made the Chevrolet Celebrity with a 2.8L i thinked it was opitional with the standard 3.8L like the chevrolet caprice

  • The 2.8L was the biggest engine you could get for that year Celebrity, your other option was the 2.5L Iron Duke.

  • how do you get the cruise control working, the manual i have for the car states there is one, but i can't get it working, and there is no labels on the stick where it's at.

  • @fourstar7 @fourstar7 I don't have cruise control on this car, so I don't know. I assume it would be on the same stick as the wiper blade switches are.

  • How did it act before you changed the regulator? Our '86 won't idle and has a semi-hard time starting when it's cold. I suspect a vacuum leak somewhere and a bad fuel pressure regulator because it revs by itself until its sorta warmed up. If its actually cold out it usually dies a few times first after cranking awhile. Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

  • If it dribbles fuel into the manifold, than its the regulator.

  • Wow this looks nice. I wouldn't mind having one of these, more specifically a Eurosport VR :P. But I'd take a good nick Celeb for the right price.

  • my mom had one we bored the head 30 over it was awsum

  • i am gonna buy one of these cars for 350. needs a bit of TLC, but it's very driveable, just needs brake work. it's exactly like this, but it doesn't have a radio. (i am gonna put my sony xplod radio in it.) how good is it on gas?

  • It gets around 18-20 around town. Not bad at all for a car its size, its really roomy inside.

  • the Airbox in your car, does it have something plugged into the sensor on the airbox where the air filter is, cause mine doesn't and i can't find the wire/cord where it plugs into.

  • i see a few of these in my area

  • EVERYONE in my town has these things working or not lol

  • That is exactly the same interior I had in my old '87...but I had am/fm stereo..& had the tech 4...I owned that car from '90-2006 had to have engine work in '97..but it was a very reliable car..thanks for sending.......5* BTW, that was my favorite year..wow, that is low mileage..our '86 has over 40k..

  • Glad you liked the video. Oddly enough, this car has no options but it has the best motor that was offered.

  • I would really like a '90 or '91 Celebrity Euro or 6000 SE wagon, both of those came with the bigger 3.1. We've got an '86 6000 2.8, not a powerhouse but still pretty reliable, started at -13 F. Was beat on most of its life but has 93k

  • First time I've seen a GM that new with a manual tuning AM radio! It must've been a delete option. I know Ford still had an AM-only radio in the early '90s, but it was digital tuning.

I still see these A-bodies all over the place, more than almost any other cars their age. It must because they're relatively durable and dirt cheap to maintain.

  • When I was looking at cars back in '05, I came across an 1988 Ford Ranger that had a manual tuning AM radio. The A-bodies are pretty cheap to maintain, the fuel regulator only cost $100 to replace, and it was a 4 hour job. Also, a lot of old people drive these cars, so most of them don't see much mileage. This one was bought for an old lady who couldn't drive anymore, and she was the original owner.

  • Also, in the junkyard I saw a 1987 Cutlass Ciera with a manual tuning AM/FM radio, with a digital clock built into it. That's the first and only time I have seen one of those.

  • I remember those! Back in the day both my parents drove Cadillacs. The dealership used these as loaner cars. My dad would make me LOL by cold starting them at full throttle, holding redline until it was warmed up and the neutral-bomb it for my ride to school. haha Funny memories! :)

  • These cars can sure take a beating! The Cadillacs of that era were nice too, I liked the FWD Devilles.
