  • it would be a black guy

  • Obama knew somebody cured of being homosexuality! Call 1-888-264-0877 for a genuine homosexual cure!

  • @Bestmanme08 The book Obama:Why Black America Should Have Doubts shows this cured gay he knew! And the book Ted Kennedy:The Early years shows Obama got Kennedy help in getting elected!

  • Clearly that cadet is just a racist out to make our beloved POTUS look bad!

  • Obama slept through 4 years of Columbia University, and never once attended class. American blacks HATE Obama, who's a British citizen, with zero black blood from USA.

  • Look! Too all you who think the cadets sleeping stems from a disrespect towards President Barack Obama or some other political reason are either very ignorant, have never been in the military, or BOTH!! These cadets are working their ass off everyday all f**king day!! Physically and Mentally. GET A CLUE!

  • Trust me folks...Cadets get about 4-5 hrs a sleep per night if they are lucky....those lectures are usually nap time for many! Obama, Jesus, whoever speaks...your still exhausted...I was there! And the fact that teleprompter Obama who does not speak passionately about military defence or the war effort in any way put them to sleep faster Im sure!

  • @coreycr8888 AMEN. You have spoken the truth, especially about the teleprompter.

  • He closed his eyes for about 1 second.....

  • I don't blame the guy, Obama's rhetoric IS getting boring, much like his predecessor's.

  • maybe sum ppl close their eyes in slow motion cuz it looks cool

  • obama is gay

  • He just closes his eyes!!!!

Now, the white guy REALLY sleeps, see here:"

    /watch?v=FKkcHc7OAPo

For all we know this video was manipulated to slow down the closing of the eyes. they prolly did that to counter this damning vid of a white guy sleeping, just so they can go: "Hey the black guy fell asleep too!" when in fact, he didn't

  • @TheSteelGeneral seriously? why does it even have to be about race? gah im so sick of people playing the race card around here

  • This really has nothing to do with race...it really has nothing to do with politics, either. The only real conclusion you can draw from this is that we were tired.

  • ya i know, but a man can dream cant he? lol

  • Service Academy cadets have tons of things to do in a day. PT in the morning, Classes during the day, sports in the afternoon and homework in the evening. I'm sure there all incredibly tired and I don't blame him or anyone else for falling asleep even when the presidents talking.

  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

    LOL

  • Maybe he's closing his eyes to actually think. Don't be an asshole. They only closed for 2 seconds.

  • I don't blame him.

  • I have a friend from the Point who is a Company Commander-- Very Very high speed .. Presently in Iraq 2nd tour.. So one bad apple . The Point has great tradition...

  • I have been in formation in the rain for hours waiting for a General's speech. soldiers are a different - if it aint raining we aint training"

No sleeping or being tired when you are 11B, 13E ie. No whining about being tired.

  • "The cadets have a much bigger load on them than at any other college. They are freaking tired! " Where did you get stats to prove your statement. Did they take a PT test, and do a 25 mile road march that day.

West Point is ranked the 14th Best Liberal Arts college in the US by US News and World Report(2009) -- That's great; it is supposed to instill discipline and respect for Superior Officers and the CinC. Sleeping on duty in US Army of the past was a shooting offense.

  • I'm a WP grad. I can tell you that they showed up there at 4 pm for PBO's 8 pm speech. Sitting around, wasting valuable (yes, valuable) time waiting for some party hack speech. The fact that PBO and nearly every one of our other politicians (D&R) don't have the stones themselves to do what these kids and our currently serving military do is appalling to me. So, PBO, STFU when you're talking with combat vets.

Excuse me, it's time 4 my nap. Wake me when there's something to be destroyed...

  • lol, hoorah

  • actually they are ranked number one school in the nation by Forbes.

  • what did u do with my video greg ????

why dont u reply to ur fans ????

  • Two things worth noting: 1. The cadets have a much bigger load on them than at any other college. They are freaking tired! 2. This is on NBC. Do you think they picked a random person at a random time to put on air? No. They find some cadet dozing off and put him on air. This, NBC hopes, can put a negative light on the military.

  • One

    Big

    Ass-et

    Mistake

    America

  • yay...comment 100

  • LOL MAYBE HE'S GOT SICKLE CELL

  • The white man made him fall asleep!

  • Correction. I was not saying that he or any Black person got into West Point by AA.

However, as a former officer I have a different mindset. No sleeping when a Superior Officer or High ranking DOD Civilian is giving a speech. I was just as critical of the White sleepy heads.

Fact!! Minorities are underrepresented as officers; therefore, they have to work ten times harder. Anyway hopefully this will be a wakeup call for all cadets.

    Good Luck on your endeavors.

  • I think it depends on what cycle they are in. I.E. White cycle in basic training you were dogged for 2 weeks. Your sleep was 4 hours a night. You had long days and short nights... I could see if one or two cadets be dozing off.. Its the cadet next to him that needed to give him a polite forward thrust with the elbow to re energize the soldier

  • @ SittingBullswar This isn't even about race at all. The Corps of Cadets sat there for 4 hours waiting on the President to arrive & he spoke for 35 minutes. Black soldiers have the same opportunity as any other race. I know this because attend West Point and I am African American. The Admissions office didn't have to pull any extra strings to afford me the opportunity to get appointed to United States Military Academy. I had to meet the exact same requirements as everyone else.

  • Yeah sure there's no affirmative action

  • How can you fall asleep when Obama sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard?

  • Black soldier you are a disgrace sleeping. You know how it is hard for minority soldiers to get commissioned. You just messed your future in the military. You will not be forgiven because your picture will be out in cyberworld forever.

  • Jealousy is the tribute mediocrity pays to genius.

  • Many cadets were fighting sleep that night. I'm sure most of them were whipped by the time the speech started. Given the arguous days they endure this isn't shocking. Unfortunately the ones that were caught on camera probably have some undesirable extended duty each day or have been reprimanded in some way.

  • @bearlooter haha hey all, bearlooter sent me a response saying he hopes I get sent "over there" his ignorance and stupidity is evident. I've been there and I'm still here, still in the fight. I've got a job to do whilst you stay here and get fat. Come find me in Afghanistan, you heard the Commander-in-Chief I'm never forgetting 9/11. US is where I live and I'd be damned if "goat herders" like you put it think they can come in here and kill innocent lives without provocation.

  • it's not our fault the US has the capabilities to serve and defend any nation who wishes it so.

bearlooter, come on dude......seriously. blind patriotism is what you've got, but you can't see it.

  • @timmy7611

Please stop. You might have good intentions but you're making your brother look back. Talk with sense and calm down.

  • What I did was out of anger. He sent a reply that was even worse. I was angry, I am even more angry now. I did nothing that my brother would disagree with and do not make him look bad. You don't know me or understand what it is like to have someone wish that on your twin brother. SO please, don't pass judgement on me

  • I doubt he would approve of your all caps flamefest you had there and FYI I AM a cadet so I know what I'm talking about. Stop making him look bad.

  • @timmy7611

    nice

  • Probably not the best idea to have a bunch of Cadets on their asses at 9PM considering they get up at like 5AM everyday. Not to mention most there have not learned Individual Soldier Discipline yet and wont until they go to Military schools or get to their unit.

Bearlooter, I seriously hope you are not an American.

  • @RangerMedic82nd

Foolish thing to say. Most of these cadets have gone through military schools and made it through scucessfully. In fact, the military schools they go to generally make the experience worse on cadets. NCOs that go through Sapper, need sapper, but cadets on the other hand, don't.. so the cadre are less likely to pass you and more likely to fail you for the lamest reasons.

  • and i hope the dude in the top bunk has his way with you 2-nite you dirty scum bag. whats wrong ? upset that some 20 year old kid with more brain power then you will ever have is on t.v. being as bored to death with obama as the rest of us? say that to their face puss,,go ahead. another internet tough guy that would not have the balls to say that to anyone face to face....

  • " i hope out of all the Roadside Bombs One finds each and every one of em"

GET OFF OUR PLANET, YOU MAGGOT OXYGEN THIEF.

  • what the hell is wrong with you if you don't mind my asking?

  • You are stooping down to their level and resorting to angry namecalling. They make themselves look stupid by doing that, don't join them. If you want to defend your brother, do it with a good argument. Random namecalling just leads to them doing it right back and getting nowhere.

  • good point.. fyi I wasn't asking what was wrong with you. Thank you for your service.. My brother is a cow and he wanted me to ask if you were a plebe in a2

  • Comment removed

  • No, I'm not an A2 Spartan. I made this account like 2 years ago. (I'm not "that Plebe" lol) It's actually named Spartan after the real Spartans, not a company mascot.

  • @bearlooter

I invite you to come to West Point and say that to any one of our faces.

  • @jimmyboo12 i know it has been a long time but what did bearlooter say? my laptop wont read it for some reason. aparenty its a very anti american quote he has 7 thumbs down on the comment already

  • Haha I don't even remember. Something about him hoping we all get hit with an IED or something. It doesn't matter. The only thing he can do is rant from behind a computer.

  • haha wow what a pussy. i hope a terrorist kills him then after that he would realize how much the military has protected him from these extremist scum bags

  • He'll be fine, because he's not gonna put himself in harms way. That's how cowards work. It's cool, I know what I wanna do and his opinion doesn't change that.

  • Government officials fell asleep too, should they be impeached too? Seriously.

  • Man those cadets work so hard. Early AM report at the break of dawn...Classes all day....and having to be at the event well in advance for security reasons. Cut them some slack. These youngsters were probably exhausted.

  • Furthermore? These cadets had to be there approximately 4 hours....in place... prior the the speech... many pictures were snapped of them dozing PRIOR the the President's appearance.

  • NCO chewing gum = professional.

  • @islasdel

    lol

  • SO FAKE! at 1:23, u see 2012 END in background founding fathers knew about 9/11, no doubt! Its proven George Bush was the last pilot of the crashed 9/11 plane uploader of video is a known freemason this is the strongest NWO conspiracy Youtube-video just look at 00:34 wit 2 towers burnin and all seeing eye at 1:52 in right corner illuminati signs all over the place! learn the truth people 2012 will be for us or against us Clear logic look it up Biden and Obama are Pharaohs descendants
  • You are insane.

  • thanks for the support stinkerflat1, do realize that ur ignorance is glowing,

  • This cadet is right. He can not put Afghanistan on the map as many americans can't. So why he must care about speech? He would be "active" if Obama was talking about Baseball, KFC chicken, etc.

  • It's not like this guy is an unemployed hack from Philadelphia who spent his day playing XBOX and spending his government welfare on Oreos and Coca Cola.

This guy probably just got done with a full day of class and three hours of training. Give the guy a break.

On top of that, he probably is tired of hearing "there are those."

  • Funny, all the people venting about this don't know what its like being a cadet. You can't judge unless you know the situation and without knowing what cadets go through you have no ground to stand on.

  • none of these idiots speaking negatively about the cadets would make it.

  • Yeah because they wouldn't get as much sleep and would be too tired to compete with these sleepy heads!

  • I never said its no big deal, however, it is not what you make it out to be. A cadet will not get kicked out for something like falling asleep. You're horrible grammar and need to advertise yourself as an "army guy" combined with your blind anger at a situation without knowing the facts shows how little your opinion matters. Seriously, do some research, you know nothing about USMA and are just acting like an angry child.

  • @armydude734 They were up at 5 am...classes...training...all day until 4 pm when they were escorted into the building and told they had to remain there until 8:45 pm when the President was done. The wool uniforms in a heated building will do exactly what happened to them...they were all exhausted and hot and tired and bored out of their minds.

  • @vaportrails44 Amen, been there DONE THAT :) No one is perfect. And really, was he saying anything they didn't already know?

  • hey im at kiings point... all we want to do is go to bed asap... i mean ive fallen asleep in almost all major speeches that have occured in my academy

  • @armydude734

kicked out? seriously? Come on man, He's human- I've served in the Marines for 13 years and have dozed off countless of times! A room full of hundreds of cadets in wool after being up at the crack of dawn I'm sure- who wouldn't fall asleep!? :D Thanks for serving btw.

  • Dick Cheney routinely dosed off in cabinet meetings with Pres. Bush. Didn't mean he didn't care about what was going on. I mean, they need to cut these cadets a little slack. They have a brutal-enough schedule as it is.

  • As Chris Mathews said, Obama was giving his speech at the enemy camp. He sure manages that bowing to the kings much better than talking to the troops,

If I hear that "There are those.." of his one more time I am gonna puke. Where did he learn these cheap tired rhetoric techniques?!

  • @FFmadrusski From the Marxists he grew up around.

  • the cadets were sitting there literally 4 hours before the president came on stage..you try staying awake

  • Was certainly not the only cadet to fall asleep. I watched on NYOne and at least 2 female cadets were nodding off.

Apparently the PBS broadcast caught at guy at full, chin to chest nod - not even fighting it off like this guy.

  • Falling asleep is not a political statement. It has nothing to do with the sitting president. There were plenty of cadets asleep at last year's Bush speech. Most of you are just spewing hot air. You don't speak for us.

  • Stfu our taxes pay for your existence, so you WILL listen to what we say. Obama is not respected.

  • @ Alfrunk

And our lives pay for your existence.

You should probably learn a little about the situation before you pass judgement. evisforvictory is right. The only message this cadet is sending is that he is tired. Trust me, it's not like we had the day off prior to the speech.

  • lol not really anymore. Iraq and afghanistan are no threat to me or anyone else. The oceans offer more protection than the military does overseas. The military can't protect against the kind of underhanded stuff the muslims pull. Hell it's not your fault of course, but let's be realistic this isn't like WWII.

  • I hate to break it to you, but mankind has made a lot of technological advances. It's pretty easy to cross oceans nowadays...Geographical distance won't keep you safe. And by keeping the pressure on them on their turf, we're actually significantly limiting the number of terrorist attacks. Saying that the military doesn't do anything for you is just absurd.

  • My point was, and you should know this if you're a west pointer, is that we are not bordered by enemies. The oceans give us warning about attacks way ahead of time ( radar/satellite surveillance). The military does serve a vital purpose, but not everything the military does is useful. Iraq and afghanistan being prime examples.

  • I hope you know that the military controls these radars and satellites. Homeland security falls under our list of responsibilities. And, yes, our military being in Iraq and Afghanistan is actually very important. Do you understand the war?

  • @Alfrunk question, do you watch the history channel and the military channel? or even bi partisan news channels for that matter?

  • No, I read books and newspapers - I'm not tv educated.

  • Comment removed

  • That guy must be racist to be sleeping during Obama's speech. :)

  • LOL!!!!

  • Exactly! Where's the "honorable" rev to start a protest!

  • REDSHIFT, like Bush was qualified!?? LMAO I give Obama MAJOR props simply because he, unlike idiot Bushie can Speak Intelligibly!!! Obama knows the correct pronuciation of the word NUCLEAR...for christs sake.. So with that alone, Obama gets major major props.. Bushie always sounded a dumbass smarmy redneck, Obama could stand up there and read the ingredients off of a candy bar and he'd still sound 100 times more intelligent that Dumbfuck Bushie ever could have,

    xo

  • So you are going to judge someone's intelligence based on their ability to give a public address? Wow... Maybe you should get an IQ check yourself. Should we also declare Stephen Hawking a "dumbass" because he babbles and has to blow in a straw?

If you don't like Bush, fine. But come up with a better reason...with some actual merit.

  • Jilty, I think it holdsa GREAT deal of merit..Last time I checked, Stephen Hawking was not the leader of our country (nice try)So When an elected official who represents our country can't even speak intelligibly(i.e Bushie) I think that certainly is reason for bias and scrutiny. Every time Bush spoke, I would cringe.. I think it reflects more positively on us as Americans now, finally we have a president who doesn't sound like a dumbass redneck, like Bushie certainly is.. Thanks Jilty! xo

  • Unfortunately for shallow, arrogant lemmings like you, the content of Obama's speech was ridiculous. Telling the Taliban when we're leaving afghanistan?? Great plan. Obama is a loser and even the military has no respect for the man. Your disgusting and racist reference to 'rednecks' aside, I think you'll have a hard time winning in 2012. Stay classy!

  • You weren't discussing leadership or charisma, you were talking about intelligence. Don't dodge the topic. I never said Hawking was our nation's leader. However, he does represent a very intelligent person...

  • I'll bet my life on it, that if President Obama and President Bush both took the same exact IQ test, President Obama would score significantly higher.

  • ya,then you can bet that you'll outlive your IQ score and then we'd all be happy

  • Obama was rehearsing and perfecting his personal war method against the Taliban. Soon, he will have the ability to not only incapacitate but to bore to death.

  • SittingBull, get over yourself. OCS officers are not god's gift to mandkind. Cadets go through 4 years of training and West Point graduates seem to be doing pretty well for the "sub standard" training they receive. Go learn some history, then comment.

  • SittingBullswar, I'm not sure where you get your information, but you're wrong. West Point cadets receive excellent general military training from the 82nd Airborne and 10th Mountain then train for 1-2 years in their specific branch once they graduate. If you doubt the ability of West Pointers to lead men into combat, go take a history lesson.

  • For West Point speeches, Obama has his teleprompters strategically placed.

I would not care if the Cadets started snoring. Obama isn't qualified to lead a military, he should stick to his deep understanding of the constitution.

  • You seat 4000 people in hot auditorium at 4 p.m. for an 8 p.m. speech and someone DOESN'T fall asleep -- now that's surprising. This, not so much.

Regarding your other claims, cadets DO go through an indoc period during their first summer. West Point's attrition rate of 33% speaks for itself.

  • hey man,

whats it like being a virgin?

i know ur a virg cuz u drop sick lines like sleeping is punishale by eath in the 1800s.

  • Yeah only virgins know history!

  • They go through a basic training, and then another stage of advanced training, then they spend about a year training for their MOS. And it's not the 1800's anymore.

  • Taken out of the Army for falling asleep? Seriously "Army Dude", that just made me laugh.

  • i hope people realize that most of these cadets have been up since 6 in the morning, going to class, working out and doing things required by their position in the cadet chain of command. they had to be seated by 4. and probably a good number of them went to bed after staying up well into the night doing homework. because you saw one person out of 4500 cadets fall asleep does not signify anything

    --Awake cadet class of 2011

  • a good deal doesnt have a lot of respect for Obama. We respect his position as commander in chief. And we were in there for 4 hours after a very long day.

  • This settles the science. Barack Obama emits CO2 and tryptophan when he speaks. Better Cap and Trade his speech before he puts the entire world to sleep.

  • There were several "caught" alseep. Seems like once the media caught on to the issue they refocused on that televising aspect. I think I saw at least two elected officials asleep as well. If cadets had to be there 4 hours ahead; someone should rething that. Sleeping is not a political statement.

  • I heard that cadets had to be seated around 4 pm, so the likelihood that this cadet was falling asleep as most cadets sometimes do during class because of their demanding schedule, is definitely legitimate. Don't bag on him because of some long-winded speech that essentially said nothing we haven't heard already.

  • Comment removed

  • It's kind of funny that somebody takes the time to post this video of a Cadet taking a long blink during the Presidents' speech and titling it the way they did. Whats the point and what are you trying to say? Trying to make Cadets look bad because one took a 2 second blink during a 30 minute speech just seems really questionable to me.

  • LOL! They put the camera on him because he's black--and he's falling asleep!

    Excellent!

  • Obama got a Fulbright Scholarship--a scholarship open only to non-American citizens. How'd he do that? Then he went to Pakistan, at a time when Pakistan didn't allow American citizens in. How'd he do that? Then he got elected President, when only American citizens are eligible. How'd he do that?

  • You aren't quite correct in the "didn't allow American citizens in Pakistan". They were on a Do Not Travel list which meant they didn't recommend traveling there, but it wasn't impossible for an American, especially one sponsored by citizens (as he was visiting his roommates parents).

That being said, I don't believe he was born in Hawaii. Or at the very least SOMETHING is being hidden on his birth certiicate he refuses to release.

  • he has released it. it's been posted on the white house web site all year. the state of hawaii has released it several times. what more do you people need? give it up. you're wrong!

  • give it up, the birther movement is dead

  • cadet in the top left corner with the glasses on is my cousin!

  • I can't see it I need to download Java.... It's hard to stay awake when all you hear is blah blah blah blah....

  • He looks pleased.

  • not to mention the fact that we got no real dinner and most of us are perpetually drowsy as it is. Schade's here I come

  • Hmm, I know a President that would have served you dinner....

  • First off we sat in that auditorium for 4 hours before the speech, Second they would not allow anyone to take a nap during this period, Third it was a very warm place, and Lastly people that are higher ranking than cadets were dozing off as well

  • Go get you something to eat and a nap.

Thank you for your service and we love you out here!

  • sup buddy

  • Comment removed

  • Obviously he must be RACIST!!!(tm)

  • well its kinda tough to stay awake when you have had to sit in one place or 4 hours before the speech even began....

  • We were down there for 4 hours prior to the address and it was very warm, so it wasn't easy for sure.

  • hey...I know that guy!

  • They were praying, because they know under Obama, they dont stand a snowballs chance in hell.

  • I didn't see that because....I was falling asleep too!

  • lol lol lol he wasnt asleep he was meditating and concentrating on the words lol lol lol : )

hey were is my song gone bring back my song plzzzz

  • lol that's cute.

  • He definitely wasn't the only one... a lot of cadets were falling asleep.

  • lmao you work fast the speech just ended and this is already up lol

  • maybe's he's praying. --praying that Obama would stop talking about himself, and stop making excuses about not doing anything.
