To be honest, banning this was pathetic.. Only just yesterday i was on a train where there were laptops and iPhones but i could still get around 1mbps download speed over internet.. Considering the average London home gets 2mbps.. This is, as it says, very fast

And for the GPS.. Has been pretty fast even on trains and in places in Suburban London.. I'm gonna see how it actually does perform in the City Of London district

The problem is the iphone isn't that fast to begin with (regardless of service provider). Over a wifi network, where the speed and reliability is a 10 fold greater than any cellular network, the iphone is still a little sluggish.

You're all arguing how fast 3G is when it's been used on other phones for years now. My 2 year old phone has 3G and downloads at around 150-200kb/s which is fast. It's not a home cable connection, but that's a meaty download speed for a mobile device. It's only fast if you're in or close to a major city more or less. If you're in the middle of no where then yea, it's going to be slow that just goes without saying.
