even as a kid i knew this was shit, but damn, never missed an episode! and OH how we laughed as we sang along to the theme replacing the word 'super' with 'stupid'. damn, we were rebels.
Can anyone tell me (a) if this classic series is available on dvd? (b) which actress played zep's female assistant? and (c) can I get a model of zep's ship anywhere?
i knew i didn't dream it, none of my friends remember this show and now i can prove i didn't make it up. if my memory serves me corecctly i believe that one of the prizes was a tub of hair gel. can anyone confirm?
I've been trying to find a trace of this show for YEARS. I used to spend Friday nights watching this whilst my parents went shopping! 25 years ago... wow. Where did my life go - lol.
Captain Zep was great in a very peculiar way. I think the fact that it was horribly low-budget and that the cardboard aliens had bizarre Radiophonic voices made it all the more alarming.
Been looking for this series all over the place. I was recently given the 7" vinyl as a present. No one seems to have recorded this show in the eighties :(
I'm sure there was a badge that was the prize in this series-which i wanted desperately as a kid-how naff! And the aliens were all just drawings-very low budget stuff-how times have changed-how old do i feel!
i remember this the kids had slick back hair and the aliens were cardboard and i also thought it was crap but i never missed an episode i think it starred the bloke from the police series Rosie
this seemed super cheap even at the time with it's cardboard cutout people.

The song is really catchy.
But the show itself was crap, I remember crappy cut out aliens who were hard to understand!

There was something about it that made it compulsive viewing, despite it's cheapness. Actually, I think I quite liked the cardboard aliens.

Did it only get one series? I can remember having to strain my ears to understand what the aliens were saying, oh yeah and the 'wet look' hair gel!

All I remember is that the kids in the audience, trying to solve the mystery, all had their hair greased back.
