  • wow you are terrible

  • @thomas12452g wow, if i ever met you i would fuck-start your face

  • I bet the TBX besides the desk sounds better.

  • @TheBenlag i wish i didnt post this video so early. the tone doesnt do the unit justice but i have a great tone now and will be doing a comparison video when my axe fx 2 comes in

  • What power amp do you use?

  • that song is from daath!!!!!!!!!!! love that band

  • Holy shit! You have Lee's Ibby! I should be worshiping you!

  • Why so many dislikes on this? Great video, man!

  • Where would i get that box to hold my racks?

  • yes it is Lee's old ibby

  • Where did you get that LACS? It looks like it was routed for EMG 707's, is it Lee McKinney's old LACS? :)

  • What all is in that case that houses the HD Pro (And where do you get those cases I see them a lot)

  • Download to the patch please?! Sounds great!

  • The Chimp patch is boss! The first one is better than the second though!

  • Clean patch sounds amazing, I'd nerf all the freq from 80k and below though!

  • Everyone is so mean on videos. Wow.

  • @demonj00 i don't get the reasoning in being a dick to someone who's trying to help people. o well the worlds full of assholes

  • also try using two amps. fball and treadplate together sounds cool. the fball for highs and the treadplate for the low and mids sounds amazing. use the off axis 57 on the fball to get closer to the axe-fx. so maybe a chain like noise gate/screamer/boost compressor/amps/tube compressor/and then close it with a noise gate.

  • nice lead but why not add a boost compressor and roll your volume knob back on the guitar? oh and a bit of tweaking on that noise gate again :D

  • wow what a waste of equipment...you need way more practice bro...

  • @jasonlikesdeathmetal yea man im garbage, thanks bro...

  • Hey, I'm planning to try out this unit in a few days at a local music store. But I've got a few questions which I haven't been able to resolve by using google. Why get a HD PRO over a regular HD? What's the black box thingy in your patch at 0:52 between the 4-band EQ and reverb? And would you mind sharing your presets? I totally understand if you don't, but it would be very useful if I'd know how to configure the POD in the shop :). Thanks for the informative vid!

  • @SevereThroatCancer those are just empty blocks, i got the pro because i wanted to use a rack mounted unit because i don't have a regular amp head. and trust me, you can make a much better preset than this

  • @cv22chief Cheers! Now I'm fully confident that I'll be able to achieve the sound that I'm looking for. Was kind of doubting between the new POD HD series and the older series, but I'm definitely going for the HD series now. Tomorrow I'll be testing some PODs and I'll test a pair of KRK RP6 G2 studio monitors. Pretty stoked to get some awesome gear for home recording!

  • great video man, really helped me learn more about the tones etc. the hd pro can make instead of just comparing it to axe fx

  • @jdbodom axe fx owns, but this is probably the best alternative for the money

  • I noticed that the unbalanced outputs of this thing have a switch to change it from line to instrument level. With that being the case couldn't you run this through an amp head input (for the power amp only) or an effects loop?

  • @TheEmoo92 yes and yes

  • Do you experience any lag or pause in sound when changeing patches?

  • @bmth4111 yes, but its is extremely small

  • Why do you have the crunch lab backwards?

  • @rob61091 i have tried it both ways and i just think is sounds better upside down

  • Thanks for demo. Please can You tell me about Your guitars??? One is Ibanez premium and... I just dont understand is the 7string prestige model??? Do You like that guitars??? I want to get a premium 7string... RG927 or RG827(This one is just less expensive). Especially I want to know about Edge Zero II trem...I use whammy bar A LOT! Is it stays in tune????

    Thanks a lot.

  • I'm considering getting a HD Pro in a few months time, over an Axe-FX mainly due to the price difference. I'm wondering whether there is any lag/popping noise when you change between patches; namely distortion to clean or vice versa. I own a HD100 Mkii and that's been a bit of an issue to work around. I'm also wondering whether I could run the HD Pro through my Spider Valve in place of the existing pre-amp effects unit, and utilize the power amp in that. Thank you for making a damn good video!

  • sounds just as fizzy and harsh as all other line 6 products :\

  • @JMcDonnell91 I can imagine this tone being pretty good in a mix though.

  • @JMcDonnell91 don't go off my patches, there are better videos out there now that show the full potential of the unit

  • @JMcDonnell91 You're totally out of your mind.

  • @revsharp777 why? no point in downgrading

  • @cv22chief Both are fine for what they do. Been thinking of keeping a live rig seperate from my recording/practice as home.

  • an i connect it to a head like how i would do on a stomp box. or is there any specific order of things i need to

  • So, I know this might be a stupid question, but how would you connect the POD HD PRO to a guitar Cabinet? like, do you need a power amp, etc?

  • @Uhmsters saying that you have a mono setup, you would connect a cable from the output of the hd pro to the input of the power amp. then you would connect a cable from the output of your power amp to your cabinet input

  • @Uhmsters yes hook it up into a power amp. then hook the power amp into a speaker cab

  • Any chance you could give a run down of what you have in your rack set up? I know nothing on racks and I'd prefer to run them through some of my vintage cabs or one of my better ones. I subscribed and I'd love to hear more of your rig as far as live set up goes. Sorry for my newb-ness lol

  • what is the BBE for? :o

  • @MattsterFelix mainly for quick tweaking of frequencies for different live settings

  • Will you be willing to upload your rhythm patch? It's so killer

  • Hello, your sound is very impressive! I was wondering what power amp you use?

  • @MezaShred im going studio direct no power amp needed!

  • I have a quick question, Do I really need a power amp for this?

  • @5yn1cx yes and no. if you are using it for use with your computer alone then no. if your usingit live witha speaker cabinet then yes. if you will be using it live through a powered P.A. then no

  • @cv22chief Can i connect it to a guitar amp and PA system at the same time?? without any help from spliter kind of gear/pedal thing??

  • @cv22chief hey Im back for one more question/favor. I just got my pod HD pro and could you please please please share your settings for those patches you played in this video. thatd be super awesome! Thanks.

  • @5yn1cx these patches kinda suck my new one is way better. just mess around with the unit until you get the sound you like, it not too difficult. good luck :)

  • I ordered an HD Pro, I'm waiting for it to arrive! What is that red unit in your rack?

  • @DrFix82 BBE sonic maximizer. is a magical unit that makes everything sound better

    '

  • also my biggest concern is that I do not how the line6 processor is at high volumes, I will be playing out of quality orange and mesa cabs but I'm concerned with the digital aspects taking away the authenticity of live tube driven amps sound. Also I know there are noise gates within the pod so I'm also not sure if investing in the a decimator would be to any avail

  • @megametalmaestro Here we go. First off if you buy the unit you will not need any pedal whatsoever. Just an fbv footboard or a midi foot controller to control your channels. As far as a power amp goes......buying a tube power amp will give you more of that "tube" feel i guess but they can get quite expensive and VERY HEAVY. So go for a rocktron velocity power amp. Its the best power amp for your money IMO.

  • @cv22chief thanks for the advice, it is much appreciated, Im basically done with pedals, so I want one source for all my sounds, with a footboard control, I was thinking of getting the line 6 mkii head the bogner designed tube driven one, I tried it out before and was surprisingly pleased. but I feel building a rack would be more professional for both recording and live sound. before I have been playing peavey 6505+ head and can to not understand why everyone is using it anymore

  • hey really appreciated the video, I came into it researching for alternatives to the fractal axe fx, I am def considering possibly building a rack around the line 6 HD after seeing some vids and researching reviews, If you can answer a couple questions it would help me alot, I'm playing on using it for a live setup, so my concern is I will prob be using a relatively inexpensive power amp to maintain a budget, if you have any recommendations it would be much appreciated
