There is this thing called progressive income tax where the richest 1% has an income tax 30% higher than the lowest 20%. The rich are wealthy because the have an education and know how to be keep that wealth while still paying a higher income tax. The lower 20% do not seem to understand that, and blow all their money off on lottery tickets (a literal poor tax) and buy things they don't need.

There is this thing called progressive income tax where the richest 1% has an income tax 30% higher than the lowest 20%. The rich are wealthy because the have an education and know how to be keep that wealth while still paying a higher income tax. The lower 20% do not seem to understand that, and blow all their money off on lottery tickets (a literal poor tax) and buy things they don't need.
Everyone has opportunity to be wealthy in America, but this protest is not one of them.

There are many jobs out there, but you feel you could not work in food service or at a grocery store or a gas station. You would have to start at minimum wage. I remember when the right became apoplectic about Obama's speech to school children. Sowell made an appearance on Limbaugh's program and Walter Williams was the guest host. And he asked Sowell what he thought of Obama speaking to kids. His response was: "Ah man! The first thought that popped into my head was the Hitler youth. The Nazis had to get the kids first." I had to face palm myself. Cause no other president has spoken to school children....YEESH!

I'm confused. The workers make the products, process them, sell them, ect, ect. So, the workers produce, while the CEO's sit up top making decisions and making money off the workers who are actually the reason the company is making money in the first place. They wouldn't have any money at all if it weren't for the lowest rungs on the ladder doing the grunt work. So, wouldn't that make the CEO's the 'parasites living off those who produce?'

@marvenp I believe the man who wrote Utopia (the name escapes me at the moment,) had a similar sentiment towards the peasant population. Those at the top CANNOT prosper without those at the bottom.

@rhian116 Yeah, technically. There is a certain amount of management that is in fact needed for a company to prosper, but that does not mean that those people should fire the ones under them to be able to give themselves a raise. Its absolutely shitty. But yeah, it sucks how so many people in this country see the protests as being straight out anti-capitalist, while it really isnt. Well, i guess thats what happens when the well oiled propaganda machine of Faux news comes into play.
