It's not as random as all that. I think Lucas, or whoever wrote that line was trying to imply Anakin's hatred of the planet he was born on (similar to his son), which drove him to want to be a pilot, an adventuring Jedi, and ultimately the conqueror of the universe. People always hate the town they're from until they move away from it.
