If they had chosen a young boy about Luke's age, they'd have had to replace him already, since the series started in 2007, and now they are releasing a prequel trilogy. For example, Bart Simpson is voiced by a woman, who has been voicing him since The Simpsons started 2 decades ago. And women also often play girls' voices. Also, the average child voice actor will give a worse performance than your average adult voice actor.

this kinda reminds me of the star wars order. the order based on the series of events should be the Spector's flute, the eternal diva, possible the mask of miricles, but if not then the curious village, and the diabolical box, then the unwound future, and a new one after that

@sonicfangamer2 it's not only in Japan though, it's not rare at all in American cartoons that child characters of both genders are voiced by women. Think about it, do you think a man can make a convincing child voice? The only choices left are women or children, but there are laws regulating child labor, it's harder to get good performances out of child actors, and if the series goes on for a long time without the characters aging much, the children's voices will change during puberty

Coming from someone who has played all the game, and seen this movie, I can assure you that it doesnt spoil anything from Lost Future, nor is anything from Specter's Flute ruined. All that pertains to Specter's Flute is Emmy, Descole, and Grosky.

My friend bought The Curious Village (for DS) when it came out here in Ireland two years ago. After that came Pandora's Box, and now we're getting The Unwound Future.

I keep hearing different names for the games/movie etc, could you please tell me if the games are named differently in different countries, or if they're just not availabe in Ireland?

I've plays DS games only, so if there are games for X-Box or Playstation, I don't know of them...?

@willkillyoulast Diabolical Box and Pandora's Box are the same, just as Unwound Future is the same as Lost Future. The names differ upon the region, but nothing serious. All three games of the main series ARE available in Ireland, Curious Village-Pandora's Box-Lost Future. Also the Eternal Diva movie is out, which takes place between games 4 and 5. The series is ONLY available on Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS. No XBOX or PS3 versions of the game exist.

I just watched this movie and must say I am impressed. Just like in the video games they implemented complex puzzles as part of the story. I only managed to solve the first 2 puzzles before Layton and Luke came up with the answer. As expected from a Layton movie, nothing is what it seems to be, and the plot twists are quite surprising.

Since the game is published in Netherlands then the movie has been licensed by Kaze who are release the movie I just don't know the date (I think it is the same as Manga UK - September 2010)

also it is licensed by another group called kase which will release it to all the other European countries that publish the game.
