BMP-2M is almost 0.5m lower, so easier to conceal and harder to hit with low-tech weapons like RPGs or recoiless cannons. It can also float.

M2A3 offers impressive protection, up to 30mm AP all around. Most APCs/IFVs, BMP-2M included, is protected only up to .50 cal, It has very sophisticated FCS, similar as M1A2 tanks, and IR sights. It can't float though, as it weights ~30 tons, twice as much as BMP and only 5 tons less than T-55 tank.

When I was in A 1/29 they off loaded a squad from the right Bradley and they ran down to a trench on the right hand side and light up some pop up Ivans. Also we had to listen to "Dangerzone" and "Bad-to-the-bone" so many times that I want to blow my brains out every time I hear those now.

No, in the first gulf war they killed more Iraqi armor than the Abrams tanks did. They did this through the anti-tank missile launchers on the side of the turret and by firing depleted uranium rounds from the chain gun.

I'm a BC (Bradley Commander), what you're seeing is the M3(new) variant over the old ODS (operation desert storm/m2) variants. Commander's independent viewer, etc.

The M113 Gavin isn't faster than the Brad. I drove one my first 3 years in the Army. But yes, it's WAY lighter, because it's straight aluminum, no pig steel and kevlar composite reinforcing. We chewed thru the side of a decommed Gavin with an M60 machine gun from medium range. That's horrible protection.

@petruxa99 The 113 is not faster than the m2a3. Im 11M and have driven them both in similar situations. Without the govorner the m2a3 will rrun in excess of 85mph. that has been done plenty.

Hard to say, there are many variables. The Bradley is slightly better armored, and since their main gun are the same for both vehicles, a Bradley would probably kick its ass.

It's already far better armored than russian BMP or BTR vehicles.
