1. time: washing and then sprouting grain for 2 days (I washed it up every day) and then I covered the sprouted grain for 2 days with water. After 2 days: Bubbles came and it tasted a bit sour und I used it to make seed cheese from sun flower seeds. It tasted excellent!
2. time: the same procedure, but without sprouting, I washed the grain and directly covered it with water for 2 days and used it for seed cheese. A similar result like 1!
(2) 3. time: Like 1. After 2 days sprouting and 2 days covered with water there came only a little bubbles and it tasted different - not sour! I didn't make seed cheese from it.
Beware the Hippocrotes Health Centre does not recomend using rejuvelac any more. In their book, The Hippocrates Health Program, they state "Rejuvelac, once a major part of the Hippocrates diet, has been eliminated due to research showing that it encouraged the growth of unfriendly bacteria, which negated the effects of good bacteria. Mounting complaints of discomfort promted us to delete this fermented drink from our diet" They recommend, use distilled water instead of rejuvelec.
Rejuvelac is the greatest elixir of life. Add probiotic capsules to the water to prime it up. Make it strong. Drink it every day. Rejuvelac is by far the most powerful medicinal substance I've found for achieving Paradise health.
You call them wheat-berries.. Never heard of that...(here in Europe) So is this the same as wheat-GRAINS..? And if not.. What's the difference (if you know)?
It is very nutricious and easy to digest. It is another way to take in fluids also. I feel good while drinking it but it is tricky to keep on hand. You should drink it within a few days and I have had mold grow on my sprouts in warm weather. It is a funny taste- a bit of a tang.
Gosh, I was just thinking my smoothies may be better 4 me if i made them less complicatedly. But I'm putting seeds berries nuts parsley cilantro fruits & sometimes even a vege, figuring I better cover the bases, nod to The Zone. I haven't drank rejuvelac in many years, probably a decade. But I fondly remember its taste--I loved it. The juice bar/health food store that made it closed back then & haven't had it since. Thanks for the recipe cuz now I can see myself making it with some regularity.
matt, i've noticed that whenever u've been watching angela talking on skype or whatever & u put the camera back on you, your eyes are just like all dreamy from watching her, u can tell how in luv u are, lol. so sweet!
I remember Dr. Brian Clement commenting at a lecture that I attended, that the Hippocrates Health Institute had tested rejuvelac to see what probiotics and other 'goodies' were produce from the fermenting wheat berries. What they found were some not so friendly yeasts and molds.
Thanks Angela, you eliminated the mystery of sprouting for me and now I feel comfortable with it....

(1) I've tried to make Rejuvelac for 3 times:
1. time: washing and then sprouting grain for 2 days (I washed it up every day) and then I covered the sprouted grain for 2 days with water. After 2 days: Bubbles came and it tasted a bit sour und I used it to make seed cheese from sun flower seeds. It tasted excellent!

In warmer climates, the process is quicker.

Angela Stokes is such a honey. If she wasn't married to Mr Monarch, I'd certainly ask her out for a drink ... of, erm... water.
