  • Sorry, my budgie likes much more version by József Lendvay .. and so do I ;))

  • i'm totally out of words ..

  • Perfection is not part of art, save your liver clubflush791 you just said it: 3 brain damaged people

  • just out of tune and slow

  • i LLLOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEE hungary!!!!!!!! i was born there its an insult to me that you spell sumthing phonetically

  • That lady that he's starting at near the end, is that his wife?

  • The spelling is Czardas not Chardash!!!

  • @plagalcadenze the correct spelling is Csárdás. I am Hungarian, this is my mother tongue;-)

  • Cheeky little fist bump right there :)

  • toe tapping toe tapping toe tapping

  • Nigel Kennedy can dress like a gypsy but though his playing is technically good I miss that gypsy spirit in the playing. And oh! I didn't know he had put weight on! ;-) But he plays the Tchaikovky in the manner of his teacher Yehudi Menuhin -- that is to say beautifully. When I first heard his Tchaikovsky I thought it was Menuhin playing.

  • just the best version of this I've ever heard. Is there nothing this man can't perform ? Keeps the players on their toes with a little interpretive variation it seems ... great acoustics too.Well done Mr Kennedy.

  • SUPERB ...... . xx

  • Jest wielki.

  • Oh God! Nigel is the greatest violin player ever!

  • @TonyThrash94 I so agree with you...he is amazing. He feels what he plays, there is a true passion and love for music. I just adore him.

  • @TonyThrash94 You obviously havent heard of Paganini then :)

  • @EvilSatanBabyFromHel I've heard him of course! He was the innovator and a great player, but most of things he brought were about composition.

  • @EvilSatanBabyFromHel ...or David Oystrach or Jean-Luc Ponty or Stephane Grapelli or Itzhak Perlman or Jerry Goodman and so on...:) There are so many truely good ones.

  • BRAVO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • O.O amazing!!

  • las emociones en erupcion

  • Excellent !!!!

  • Seems rather stupid on 'this week'

  • Comment removed

  • This play is excellent and joy full to listen to Nigel is a genius on violin

  • This is quite a different version to the one I have him playing on CD. But no less brilliant.

  • I thought it was spelt czardas

  • @DJmusicmagic Many times you'll see it as Czardas, but the real spelling is csardas.

  • I met this guy at Ronnie Scotts, the other week. We had the most amazing conversation (both of us being drunk) and I grabbed his glass of champagne from him. Top man. He's amazing.

  • I can't stop listening it. 2:38

  • Jizz

  • OMG he is GREAT!!!one of my favs

  • unbelievable- had forgotten how fantastic this piece was and played by the best!

  • Great performance! Very talented violinist indeed!

  • thank you,it was great !!!

  • Czardas

  • Alucinante!!! Mágico. Uno se queda sin respiración.

  • this piece, it's diabolic ...

  • @Skibbaaa Diabolical?! Why?!

  • @JackyRowe because everything...art, music etc a,about gypsyies is macabre

  • @Skibbaaa And what makes you reach that judgment?

  • @JackyRowe I don't think Skibbaaa means 'diabolical' in the sense of 'awful'. In some languages (I am very familiar with German as well as my native English), an equivalent of the German word 'diabolisch', which a person whose native language is not English but who is making comments here in English might translate as 'diabolic' means 'of the devil', so more 'devilish'. It's a great word to describe this tune, don't you think?

  • @punkinuk1 Well when you put it that why, absolutely! As is kennedy's playing in this, especially in teh first "movement", if you like

  • عجيب amazin keep going ؛)

  • @q8yeia20 حمار

  • @duizda1 hhhhhhh why?

  • Bravo, great!

  • Afterwards, we went up to his dressingroom to get an autograph. We got invited in for some sushi and drinks but unfortunately we had to decline since we had to catch the ferry back to Sweden. The party must have been epic though, alot of complaints, the police came, and Nigel was banned from ever again performing in Tivoli in Copenhagen. I hope the ban was temporary or gets lifted. I will go to anything he decides to perform.

  • I had the fortune to be able to see him in Copenhagen a few years back. Brahms Violin Concert. I must have listened to the concert at least a hundred times before that evening, performed by most good violinsts, so I though I knew the piece pretty good by then. I was not prepared for Nigel though, not one bit. He actually managed to mix Brahms and the tone and tempo of traditional nordic folkmusic. It was awesome, it might not have been Brahms, but it was mindblowing.

  • Nigel is the best.....

  • Nigel is best of!

when hi will come to Sydney - again?

  • EEEEeeeeekkkkkk (meant in a good way)

  • Its Czardas, not chardash -.-

  • @SonicMindControl Its Csárdás!!!

  • I can't imagine even 3 brain damaged people who "disliked" this stunning post. I will die defending individual freedom, but some people should not be allowed the gift of comment.

  • @clubflush791

I really like how you refered to commenting on art as a gift.

  • бриллиант

  • Wow stunning as always

  • that was amazing! this piece is one of my favorite pieces to perform :)

  • THAT WAS HARDCORE!

  • First of all, the proper name is CSÁRDÁS or keep it simple CSARDAS and not Chardash or Tzardas etc.

Second, csárdás is a genuine Hungarian dance not Gipsy. Just because this piece played by Hungarian Gipsy bands and orchestras does not make it Gipsy.

Or from now on, call it English or British Csardas because of Kennedy?

By the way he is brilliant with this genuine Hungarian tune.

  • @Sallelaschi the name can be either czardas, shardash, csardas, or any other spelling.......dont be a know it all

it says czardas in solo for young violinists book 5......and its gYpsy not gipsy

    and it is too gypsy

so quit acting like youre the smartest person in the world. its making you look stupid

  • I've added this to my selection of mostly rock, jazz and bluegrass VIOLIN favorites (check them out on my jazzmessenger123 youtube channel linked in blue below). Nigel makes classical music happening now!

  • wundervoll!!

  • he put me to sleep....

  • wow ^^^

  • The best czardas ever!!!!!...No comments!!!

  • SIMPLEMENTE EXTRAORDINARIO!!

  • Rewelacja!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 30,000 of these views are mine! one of my favorite songs and no one can play it like Kennedy! so much feeling

  • @skywalkerneoblade 30,000 of these views are yours? I don't believe you because it would have taken you 269 full days to watch it that many times plus time to sleep and eat food etc. It would have taken you 18 months at least. Theres no way!!

  • @carterupm

    awww, you got me...

  • hi,learn to spell csardas-not csardash-its not a dash,

  • Wow!!! I have to say, this is one of the most amazing versions of Csardas I've ever heard!!!!

  • Of all the solo violin repertoire in classical music, none fits Nigel's personality and emotion better than this one. This is further evidenced by his awe-inspiring interpretation of such a wonderful composition. He is also pretty good with Bach as well, very versatile musician. As someone else stated, why the HELL doesn't he ever tour the U.S.? :(

  • Brillante...

  • genial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Aston Vile scum. Fuck you Kennedy. Come On You Irons!

  • that was one of my favorites i have played....want my violin back!

  • genieeee!!!!!!!!

  • Pure piece of art and artist!A Human artist!

  • I think that one person who disliked this video must of done this by accident...and it wasn't me! :D

  • Shit.

  • Grand classe-it's fantastic!

  • His ornamentation is annoying at times...

  • I like when it goes fast at the end :)

  • You can´t deny the guy´s talent. He has the respect of the ´classical musos´because of his talent, technique and interpretation skills. He also has brought FUN to the violin and the violin to the masses. Well done Nigel!

  • a gypsy tchaikovsky, tzigane, mandolin-imitatiting czardas.. LOVE IT! such fantastic bowing, so much to learn from it

  • I would like to know the answer to the question below. Also where is he performing in the coming year. He is just beyond words and so humble. It makes me want to tune up my old fiddle and have some fun. I was very misty eyed when I heard this. Wow.

  • @pascal1530 He lives in Poland now ;) I was on a great concert in Łódź ;) It was such a pleasure... He's got a lot of concerts with band named Kroke.

  • when did this performance take place?
