@senorademanuel I don't remember Bayar got spank. He was playing a bucket of water in front of his mom and then he splashed himself with water. That's all.

@Chemicalkinetics :Yeah he got spanked when he and his brother were washing things (forks maybe?) in that bucket and he pulled the bucket down. His mom kept yelling at him and he was staring at her. Then he reached up to get picked up and his mom spanked him instead. I felt bad for him that scene as well as the scenes where his brother picked on him. He and Ponijao were the best things about the movie....

That was a heartbreaking scene. I imagine that babies can frustrate you, but the mom was so out of line for punishing him.

I saw this preview on MSNBC a few weeks ago, and it was so touching! I love how he shakes his head as he says "Mama". You can tell that he's so proud of his first words. Moreover, I can tell that he's going to be a very tough man one day.
