  • That's a french novel adapted into an italian movie.

  • My philosophy professor is making us read this book right now. I don't understand where all the hidden meanings come from. He reads a lot more into Meursault's actions than I can really see. I hate this book. The beginning is so dry, at least in the version that I have. Part 2 gets better as far as writing style but I still don't like the book. I guess I'm just not a very deep thinker, philosophically speaking, but I just don't get it.

  • thanks for the post i kinda have been obsessed with Camus

  • "Zar je važno što Marija pruža danas svoje usne nekom drugom Mersou?"

  • Many thanks for posting this.....

  • Is the language spoken originally English or Italian?

  • I'm doing a summer project for english on this book. I haven't finished it yet, kinda being lazy...but its not a bad book.

  • @2hopelessromantic How can you not finish a 100 pages book?

  • @turokcalde like I said, I was lazy...and when you read like a turtle no book goes by fast...haha and it turned out I ended up not needing to do the project too. But I still finished it.

  • Thank you very much for posting this!!!

  • This dubbed version is atrocious

  • can you upload it spoken int he original italian language, without dubbing in english? i always like to hear the actors' original voices. voice-over actors suck, and their words dont fit the movement of the actors' lips! i hate dubbing!

  • it is the 1st part..you have to wait a bit..

  • Hey... do you where can I download this movie?! I found it but it was translated to German! :( thank you

  • This clip is about 80% through the story.

  • This is not the first part? Is it?

  • But WHY they shooted in english????It's sounds very strange do not to say bad,I don't understand.

  • Glad to see this on Youtube. I have an copy which I borrowed from a teacher and forgot to give back. That was four years ago. This is an amazing re-telling of Camus' masterpiece. Visconti did a good job. I just wish this movie was avaliable on DVD or even Blu-Ray. I would buy it immediatley.

    Thank you AzeiNY

  • As long as you enjoyed it NEO.

  • hi is this part one why did you not put opening scene? thanks

  • i love you. not really. well maybe.

  • Thank you for uploading this film - it's unavailable on DVD (at least here in the UK), so it's great to be able to watch it here.

  • thank Y

  • Thank you so much for this.

  • You are very welcome.

  • *subtleties

  • Visconti made nice work on this considering the subtitles in which Camus conveys The Stranger.

  • I read the Fall and you right it was not the easiest one to digest. It made sense after I thought about it and then went back and read it again. You read it in one sitting? That's pretty cool. Must have made a quite an impression on you.

  • @AzeriNY " The Fall." Good God that book almost killed me. I was almost 80 pages in when I realised what that man said needn't apply to me. Quite a trap wasn't it, the bastard. Did you escape it? Once sprung I felt it down to me to reconpense with my thoughts for the length of the book. I had to keep breaking off. This is the first book of that length It took me such a time to finish. It made me uncomfortable.

  • this was the novel that really got me to slow down and think while reading. i read it in one sitting, and then had nothing to say in Literature class the following day.

    i was so naive.

  • Did you read The Fall? Man, that was tough. I had lots of trouble understanding that one.

  • You are very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
