Thank you for this video, I'm making this tonight :) Do you think putting the crust in the oven for a few minutes before adding the meat mixture would keep it consistently crunchier? Thinking of trying it.
Shouldn't have watched this at lunch time. This salad isn't going to do it for me. Must make this recipe tonight. Thanks so much for the time you put into these vids.
Looks like another winner. I just might be forced to whip it up tomorrow.
I use the Pillsbury pizza crusts now and then for casseroles and meat pie dishes, and they work really well. I've found that partially pre-baking the crust keeps them crispier, especially in a dish that's juicy. This looks dry enough that it probably wouldn't matter.
@anmoose Next time I am going to do the browning ... but I have a weird feeling it will still possibly get a little soft... given that it is a deep dish pie, yanno?
If you add some oil to your pan I think it would crisp up. Or maybe bake on a lower rack in the oven. Thats how I get my homemade crust crispy is lower placement.
Thanks so much Beth I made your spaghetti pie and it was so awesome.. I just had to show you how it turned out. I also linked your video and channel in the comments :)
I have an explanation for the hot filling for you - it helps to prevent the bottom inside crust from being "doughy". It cooks better when the filling is hot.
@CookingAndCrafting yeah everybdy loved it .....but d cheese i couldnt get mozzarella cheese ,n d 1 i bought didnt melt much...as it was my 1st time i think its great !!! should try again :D
My dad always laughed at me because I had to leave the room whenever my mom opened those dough tubes! He called it "Popn' Fresh Syndrome". LOL I still get a little wary about it. Thanks for the tip!
@MissPonderosa TYPO lol! I meant *pie. Also I wish we had those poppin pizza crusts in autralia! It looked so cool when you were spreading it to the edge...wish we had pillsburry :( Do you think it would've tasted better with beef?
I love pizza I think I could eat it everyday going to make this...I grabbed the turkey pepperoni by mistake one time and I really liked it besides having the benifit of less grease...
@Elvis66 These are all old videos. All recorded about 3-4 weeks ago. I have not recorded a video in over two weeks. Today will be my first recorded video in over two weeks' time.
ohhh yummm!! Hey i have made flat bread using that thin pizza dough.. what works to firm up tht bottom part you point out not being crispy.. what i do is line the pan with the dough and then pop it in the over for mmm about 5 to 10 mins to crisp the bottom and sides .. woorks like a charm :) hope this helps
@CookingAndCrafting I just seen the video to your Chicken Broccoli (Corn) Stuffed Shells..... AWESOME, I got my menu for this weekend THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR IDEAS IN A VIDEO.

which crust did you like better? pizza dough or the biscuits for the deep dish pizza?
evilqcumber 4 months ago
@evilqcumber Two different evils, really, since I don't know that a standard pizza crust would hold up under all that meat.

I shall have to try this one. Looks yummy.

I've never tried the pizza crust in a tube. We love pizza but hate frozen and delivery is way over priced so this looks like a good option.
