Christian Bale is from Wales (another country next to England), Heath Ledger is from Australia (which if you look at its history, most of the people there were from England), and both Michael Caine and Gary Oldman are from England. Only a few Americans are in this movie: Morgan Freeman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Aaron Eckhart.
Gary is a symbol of all that is admirable about film and Hollywood. More of the fools that inhabit that place ought to take a good look at him and take some notes.
I didn't recognize him at all as Gary Oldman in the movie! This dude's really versatile. He was a really scary maniac in the Professional, and now he's a strong, restrained character who is played beautifully. Oldman is fantastic.
You know why he hasn't been nominated? Because he's a CONSERVATIVE. The Academy knocked him off the list when he said the film The Contender (2000) has a huge liberal slant. Which is sad on the Academy, that they will base his performance off of the fact that he is a conservative. RIP Gary Oldman - 29th May 2010. To be honest, I preferred him in "Batman Begins" and "The Fifth Element". It is indeed a great testament to the great british caucasian actor that he was to easily able to portray the role of "Arnold Jackson", the cheeky catchphrase-driven African-American scamp in the 80's sitcom 'Diff'rent Strokes". He will be sorely missed.

Gary Oldman is perfect as Jim Gordon. He looks the part and does a really good job playing him. Then again, he's a good actor anyway and can really get into the roles he's given. He's one of my favorite actors playing a character in two of my favorite movies based on some of my favorite comics. That's a good combination.

He is a really good actor, and that winning an award is nothing, but for people to acknowledge his talents is way better than recieving any award.

You know why he hasn't been nominated? Because he's a CONSERVATIVE. The Academy knocked him off the list when he said the film The Contender (2000) has a huge liberal slant. Which is sad on the Academy, that they will base his performance off of the fact that he is a conservative. Does piss me off also, cause he can do what many main stream actors can't, and that is BEING the character instead of looking at an actor in a different outfit.

RIP Gary Oldman - 29th May 2010. To be honest, I preferred him in "Batman Begins" and "The Fifth Element". It is indeed a great testament to the great british caucasian actor that he was to easily able to portray the role of "Arnold Jackson", the cheeky catchphrase-driven African-American scamp in the 80's sitcom 'Diff'rent Strokes". He will be sorely missed.

Gary Oldman is perfect as Jim Gordon. He looks the part and does a really good job playing him. Then again, he's a good actor anyway and can really get into the roles he's given. He's one of my favorite actors playing a character in two of my favorite movies based on some of my favorite comics. That's a good combination.

its just so cool seing the darkknight in the news and everything it just comes up so noble when they talk about it its like this movie is in a soooo mutch better leaug than any other movie and the coolest thing about it is that it is ey batman movie.
