I dont know what kind of call to buy. i dont really turkey hunt i mostly deer hunt in the hill country in tx. sometimes turkey come but I was thanking about buying a box call from bass pro shops its called a Lynch world champion box turkey call. what kind of call do you thank i should buy?
What if you hear a turkey at daybreak, and call to it and it reponds a few times with a gobble. And then about 30 minutes later you hear it behind you, but never comes in. What am I doing wrong?
It's all dependent on situation. If you're just sitting in a blind and no birds are in sight and you don't hear any birds, a calling sequence consisting of some yelping and maybe a few cutts every 15 or 20 minutes is probably fine. Working a bird is a different because there are all sorts of situations and the only way to know if you're doing it right is that the bird comes in.
I love Harold Knight...him a David Hale are my favorite pro hunters. Harold sure can run a call. If I could pick some one to on my dream hunt with it would be these guys.
At Knight & Hale we understand that everyone has preferences and that many manufacturers make good calls, but we prefer ours for several reasons. One is the continuous improvement on design, such as the new integrated soundboard in our friction calls. Another reason is that not every company has one of the best callers in the world (Chris Parrish) overseeing production of all diaphragms and many friction calls. Knight & Hale represents quality.
@pradco yea man knight& hale calls are the only calls ill ever use for turkey hunting in my opinion they just sound alot more realistic than alot of those other guys

Thanks for the review of calls. Would like to find a call make from all mahogany wood as the wood makes for a softer sound.
